jokes are intended to make people laugh and if we cant laugh at ourselves, well i think thats just sad..
:]
Just saw you here PFfff...
speaking for myself, I would never take offence if somebody
told a joke against the English, it breaks the ice.
I do appreciate Boomer's concern though, as he was thinking
of others it could possibly offend. Frank would mean no
harm by it at all.

I was reading some of the quotes that the Duke of Edinburgh
has made throughout the years, I think he has offended every
Nation on Earth, some of his quotes are downright rude, but
so funny.

For instance, he was in the presence of an Arab Prince in all
his fine regala and told him 'you look as though you are ready
for bed'....I bet sometimes the Queen would the ground would
open up underneath him, as my Nan used to say.

Grace....very briefly as I am being called to give my assitance
with this wretched job we are doing between us...lol.

Is there any possiblility of 'putting back' your relative's appointment until another day/week. Don't for a minute think you are being mean...you have to take every precaution when there are such bugs around, by the hospital disclosing it is warning enough.

Not much different than blonde jokes, right?

Good afternoon Grace. Yes that is a tough spot you're in. Can the patient delay the appointment at all? Can you remain in the car while the patient goes in? I'd be waiting with a can of Lysol disinfectant and spray them down real good before they got back in the car.....just KIDDING! lol But seriously, your concern is very valid, hospitals are dangerous places. Could you ask another family member to accompany the patient to your place and to the hospital?

Mighty Quinn did you notice Polish and polish are spelled the same way. Webster didn't know the difference between sh^t and Shinola :) There are no spectator sports in Poland because of bad seats. Every where you sit you are behind a Pole :)

EL & PP..

THANK YOU both very much for replies
and helpful suggestions, and you both thought
alike, but fact is this has been going on for
a while now > the outbreak of the super bug, I mean
and the patient has cancelled on two previous occasions
and *has to* go this time.

Your answers are really appreciated,
I suppose it's something I'll have to figure out by
myself and try to do it with the least amount
of 'collateral' damage!

I thought of asking another member to go with her,
I don't mind driving there and back
no matter how long,
I just DON'T WANT that debilitating bug.

I can think of more welcome
Christmas gifts(:

Thanks again ..

I don't want you to get it either, Grace! It may prove too costly to you, surely there's another family member whose health is less vulnerable that can accompany the patient.

Is that a good thing though Tony, seriously, commendable in one
respect certainly, but ignoring bad judgement on the pitch can
surely lead to further error, whereas the football players make it
known they are not happy. To err is human certainly, but if three
bad judgements were to be made by one referee, then to my way of thinking he should not referee ever again.
There is too much at stake to have the game sullied by poor calls.
If it were tightened up then the football players would not have to take matters into their own hands....:)
the AMerican football had a situation earlier this year where the referees were on strike and so they called in replacement referees who had worked in none-NFL games but were experienced referees. The end result was that poor calls did occur at a higher frequency and which appeared to decide some close games.

I think if the poor calls evened out between both teams that is not too bad.

But in a case like this ENgland-AUSSIE match, where the calls always seemed to go against one team while identical infraction by the other team were ignored, then I agree an inquiry into that referee's work should be made, and at least several game susspension withuot pay should result.

glad to see that people can handle such jokes in the light-hearted manner they were intended. I'm part German .. I have had to endure Kraut and Nazi jokes in my lifetime ....

bad taste.
