Just so happens pineapple upside down cake is one of things I most enjoy making, next time I make it I will save you the lion's share! lol I always made it for my eldest grandson when he was little....funny how we associate foods with certain folk....glad to see you Frog, don't be a stranger....:)

Good Morning Lady Eleanor..
I hope that your day is going well and that you are feeling great... Just wanted to stop in for a second... nothing much is happening in my neck of the woods..
The skies are overcast and our high temps are supposed to be mid to upper 60's... If the clouds would clear out it would be a perfect autumn day...
I hope that you have fair skies and I hope that no matter what you do today you will have fun... Sending you all my best wishes for Peace, Love, Health and Happiness...

Hello Sweet Rose....and Good Afternoon to you.
Not a great deal happening here either, just the same old, same old,
but that isn't a bad thing! The leaves are falling now..and do you know what, I love sweeping leaves, I am going to take a leaf out of your book (pun) and save them for compost, that will be great for the roses in the Spring, I have some roses struggling to bloom but the weather is against that now, the temp this morning when I set off to the doc's for my flu jab was 40...pretty cold, but a nice day nevertheless. How are those vicious brutes of yours, lol, can imagine them chasing leaves, one of our brutes came a cropper yesterday, he fell off the bird-table, much as I love feeding the birds in Winter, the bird-table is going to go, I will hang fat balls high in a place cats cannot climb....and nut holders of course.
Masses of Skizostilis out in the garden now, lots of colour.
Wishing you a pleasant, peaceful weekend my friend. <3

OH NO!!! Visions of somebody being set alight while still alive...(:..
Beats Strictly Come Dancing anyhow. haha

I was saying to Flower, I saw a snippet of the debate between Joe Biden and Paul Ryan, but only a snippet so cannot really comment on the strength of that, but it did seem to me that Biden was rather overwhelming! Wondering how Ryan dealt with that. Maybe the media picked a section which showed Biden in bad light, I dunno.

Hope you are having a good weekend Denny.

You haven't! Have you? Well, of course I would tell you when it arrived. Excited now...:)
Listen, just drop a hint, you want a walker with wheels and a little seat, hahaha
And don't forget, 60 is the new 40....
Good Luck with the cat sitting.....I know that Gizmo regards yours as
his second home so shouldn't be any worries.

Hey there El! The construction fellows I hired to put a fireplace in kitchen finished up while you got your flu jab. I see some of our feline friends curled up on the overstuffed chairs having a nap.

Kitchen is even cozier now. Pull up a chair and have an after dinner drink with me.....

I'll be honest.....I thought I had walked into the wrong kitchen! lol
This is VERY nice indeed Quincy...nothing like a log fire to warm the
cockles. I had a teeny weeny reaction to the jab as it happens, am
shivering constantly.....(:
So it's an early night for me...will catch Boardwalk tomorrow...that way will fast forward over the commercials too.

<quoted text>interesting that you mentioned that.
I happened upon a business today, as part of my sales job ... that bought and sold LP's ... I had a good talk with him about how they value the records.
He siad if the albums are the more common records sold in the 70's to 90's they won't fetch much ... between $3 to $8 ... this is because everybody owns them or can get the CD versions ...
If yuo cannot get them on CD you might get $10.
If it is something more uncommon, like a 60's or early 70's troggs or Pink Floyd Album, you might get $15 to $25 ...
Actually he says that the afficionados like to collect Jazz, soul, blues, and first releases of albums like Johnny cash, john Lennon, and others who havve passed away. Those will fetch $25 to $100 and up depending on how rare.
also if you have an album released in some foreign country, like Japan, with the album cover being unique to that country, then you might have something worth a bit . for example the band Cheap Trick performed in Japan and you can buy the live album as pubished here ... and that won't get yuo $10 ... but if you have the Japanese release you might get $50 or more....
You do need to do some research to estimate the value of your LP's
Hey Franko....so grateful to you for this info.....I have yet to list
my albums, I have 33's; 45's and 78's....some were banned in this country when I aquired them in the 60's....some from my friend's juke box in the coffee bar in London as and when he changed the music.....
I do have an account with e-bay, just never used it, and have a paypal account also, but helpful should I not have.
Am ashamed to say that having moved around a lot, the sleeves are not in the best condition.

For better or worse I take a gamble and forego the jab every year. Sooner or later I may regret it.....

Abortion is only OK when it's the republican's mistress who is pregnant.....then it's an acceptable form of birth control.

'Afternoon Cuz Luke....will do..being 1000W it cooks quickly, so requires much less time than my old one. I will be making a chicken,
leek and potato gratin tomorrow using it, looks a doddle on the video.
The video I posted btw, was of a lady demonstrating making a 'cake in a cup'..not unlike the recipe which FISHERMAN kindly posted a while ago, I made the chocolate version, unfortunately it rose rather quickly and the resulting mess was a sight to behold....:)
It will be much more useful to me than the Kindle I was toying with getting for all that.
I made mention of a prog I viewed last night, to Boomer, of course your predessessors(sp) also, very interesting and heartwarming actually.
Oh well, El ... learning is what it's about. The meal you described sounds scumptious.

When you have the time, PBS does have a lot to offer. For me, I'd be chuffed with access to BBC America.

Other than El's jab reaction, I hope the weekend has been fine for the kitchen-eers; extending to Sunday.

Was in mid-40s F for overnight low, with a mild mid-70s F this afternoon albeit so very cloudy. The rain did not happen here, but checking out college gridiron football games on the color TV, 3 out of 4 had downpours. In Missouri, the game had to be suspended for a thunderstorm period ... have no clue if and when they restarted.

Yes, the dark haired woman in gray with the head band. I was introduced to her music, the album 'union' and love it.

Nope, no rain yet .. but it threatened all day and evening. I last mowed on this past Wednesday, and yes, I'm glad I did that instead of having to do it this weekend. It would've rained for sure!

Morning EVERYONE,

Having a lovely weekend over here,
all the family around this wk/end

Took lovely pics down @ the sea last night,
amazing subtle colour, late evening changes.. between sea and sky,
late evening:

Had a big nosh up dinner at home after,
ALL hands on deck!

Love that, a LOT more than going out to fancy
restaurant which IS nice of course,
but everyone's 'tied' to the table for a time,
much more peace at home, log fire, dog at table begging
for scraps etc.. the little things that make life
SO worthwhile.

El,
So glad the new MICROWAVE's going well,
the last one I got never REALLY worked,
without hitting it a bang of a fist! that STILL
goes on [me> too lazy to return it in the beginning]
lol

I respect others here who have the flu injection-
NOT for me - a few years ago I got a really BAD reaction to it, and have done without it ever since..

I'm STILL here, which is good enough for me! LOL.

El,
Hope you are feeling OK now.

We are hurtling into year's end!!!

speaking of 'end' they say the world
will end in December..
WHO knows!

Any thoughts???

I *need to know* so I can run out and spend my money!(:
