Fact is El, I DID write about it
here on this very thread, back in
Februry .. when it happened -
and both your good self and Deer Whisperer
[and one or two others, as I recall]
kindly posted nice sentiments, at the time!
DON'T feel bad you and DW, about the lapse
of memory -
there are SO very many posts..
over a day - let alone a week..
difficult to remember ALL of them.
Hey now! I'm here to tell ya that I did remember the earlier post about the Grammy son.:)

Really, I did! Another kudos seemed of merit...:)

According to TV news programs I watch:
Jerry Sandusky, former assistant football coach at Penn State University and head of a now-defunct Second Mile charity for young boys was sentenced to essentially a life sentence in prison for child molestation related convictions. He is eligible for parole at 98 years of age.

Two university administrators are awaiting trials for covering up information about Sandusky's behavior conveyed to them.

Speaking of which..
and just for the record LOL..

my own son, who is a Music Producer,
is the proud owner of a Grammy..
as of earlier this year!
Wonderful ! That's not something everyone can brag about!!!

And thank you Grace for sharing your experiences earlier. I'm a sponge and love to learn about people in general and folks in other countries in particular. I tend to think for the most part we're all the same - just trying to live our lives, support out families and enjoy a little bit of life.

I'm one of those Americans who hasn't traveled much outside the continental US, not so much for lack if interest but for lack of money. In my limited experience I've found one big city really isn't all that different from any other.

No place has a rosy, peaceful history unfortunately but on the other hand it makes us who we are. The trick as they say is to learn from history or we're destined to repeat it.

Why we celebrate Columbus Day in the US is anyone's guess. He was a brute to put it nicely. "the people's history of the US" by Howard Zinn is a fabulous read. There are some who criticize the book but I have seen some info repeated in other sources especially how the native Americans were treated.

Well there's my philosophic diatribe for the evening......or in your case morning.

Have a good rest of the week and Kudos to your Grammy winner!!

My husband's grandfather played on the Chicago Cubs baseball team in the mid-1900s as well as for some other minor league teams.

Thank you -- feel better soon. I had it while back and fortunately got rid of it. Still contemplating if a flu shot is worth it.

<quoted text>Can you believe it? lol...My memory must be worse than I thought,
that's quite worrying actually Grace, it's one thing forgetting
something incidental, but to actually forget THIS!
This would be something I would thought would be forever etched
on my memory.
Well, no harm in congratulating you twice I expect, but very annoyed
with myself.
Will just say Good Night Grace and Good Night to all in the kitchen.
It's called old age but I think since all the Kitchen patrons have the ailment no one else seems to notice :-)

Denny & Dear Deer Whisperer -- how wonderful we can all just get along in spite if being from 1 blue state and 2 red. Who says conservatives and liberals can't get along?! The three of US should be in Congress....oh no wait, I'd still be outnumbered...

Joining in the recent short debate about the Troubles in Ireland....mercifully now relatively calm, but it
also made life very difficult in England in the 70's
I cannot count on one hand the number times I myself
have been in a building which had to be evacuated due
to a 'bomb scare'...

Until recently, if not still in force, the streets of N. Ireland are sectioned off by 'peace walls' separating the two religions.....but this has been taken to a totally new level with this really beautiful idea of a 'peace wall garden'....

What a beautiful thing!!!! I've seen smaller scale in the botanic garden I mention, but never anything of that scale. I have to view it again on my PC instead of the phone for a better view.

I will gladly pay, it's the currency conversion that would confuse me :-)

In the '80s and early '90s my friends in college imported records & CDs from the UK ---- all the good bands. Stuff that wasn't available in stores. Then the music became available mainstream and they moved on. She now owns a local boutique and has been in business for 20 years.

Good morning all diners and dinettes. Good Wednesday to all. As the song says "we may never pass this way again" so make the most of it and enjoy. Took me 46 years to realize this.
If you're stuck in traffic, why get all upset and curse? You'll get there when you get there and cursing won't change that ---- take in the autumn colors and listen to some music.

.......and don't forget a travel mug of El's coffee!

Good day to all!
:-) <3
