Dontcha know that old, old, old cars in the US had actual trunks attached to the back of them before a rear compartment was built in the styling and construction of them ... hence, the trunk.
You guys attached boots??:) What about the rumble seat????

RMQuinn37 wrote: <quoted text> I claim neither membership in the Democrat or Republican party and will continue to agree to disagree with you as politics and religion usually end up in knock down drag out fights that aren't worth it. I see nothing wrong with aspects of a Socialist system and would venture to guess that there are some seriously rich folks in Canada, the UK and Australia ---- folks there please correct me if an wrong as it is my purely uneducated guess. The Republicans claim to "want less government" interference in private lives; however, they have no problem using the government to impose their moral beliefs to enact restrictions on who can marry, who can serve in the military and whether women can decide for themselves whether to have a family. I call that utter hypocrisy. You can't say you want less government and then use government legislation to restrict personal freedoms. Excellent post, Quinny! I don't have much of a need to "get into it" in the kitchen... especially just to "back and forth" about ideology and opinions which are certainly subjective and biased. BUT... because we are hob-nobbing with non-Americans here, I cannot and will not allow false information regarding US news and events to pass without refuting it; as I have done in past. And I won't pretend to "speak" for all Americans. The country is just too diverse to try to get away with that.

The American networks are carrying soccer quite more frequently anymore from here, U.K, an Europe -- men or women. Our FOX network have been showing English Premier matches. Just yesterday afternoon in US there was one. It could have been Liverpool and Manchester??

I don't claim to speak for all Americans .... I speak for myself and I'm highly opinionated ------its the Irish in me. Quinn really is me name. Mom said I'm as Irish as Paddy's Pig!

As for democracy you vote people in because they are going to represent you and do what you want not what they want,so in the end your input has been pointless,IMHO. As for the monarchy in the past agreed some were not much better but you won't find the Queen stabbing you in the back at least her son and grandchildren have fought for our country won't find any politician or any of their usless offspring doing likewise, they're to busy lining their pockets. Extreem...You know one mans terrorist is another mans rebel,i could say all the colonists in 1776 were terrorists, just making a point about 1776 not that i think it's true.lol HAHAH! YOu are right .. the meaning of a peice of history depends largely on what side of the battle you were on. From what I have read of the state of things around the world, I doubt the UK politicians are any worse then most of the other countries of the world. It seems like finding an honest person to get into politics is like asking for money to grow on trees ......

I have to agree actually. What makes the US and Israel so special that we can create a nuclear arsenal to destroy mankind & the world but no one else can? Just askin'...... I have to guess, will there be disarmament talks at these meetings?

eleanorigby wrote: <quoted text> If I may interject here Quincy...that is a very brave question and if I may I would like to put my own take on it, which is, nuclear power is a deterrant, we all know that, as such it keeps the rogue nations in check, whereas we know we can trust the USA and Israel to not start any problem with nuclear, it just makes other people think twice. to hear the muslim nations talk, they seem to doubt that they can be trusted anymore than anyone else. science can lead to many good things but it sis a pandora's box ... nuclear bombs are more firepower than anyone should have, to be honest.

There were a couple in France and Germany and they tried to franchise in Hong Kong.
