Almost 18 Vee...a month to go and that is so true, we do, we bond with them for life,
I delivered this boy and so we go back all the way...he's doing well, nightmare to
medicate, but doing well.
I never did see Tomasina....I am going to try to find that movie neither have I seen
Robinson Crusoe on Mars (really?) must look out for those two. A Tree In Brooklyn
is on my wish list.....
I have an idea of a new thread....hopefully I can erase this problem which has been
stopping me getting into topix. Had to access it by a search engine.
I understand El, getting on to Topix has turned me into a circus performer, acrobat and magician!!!!!! Happeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeee Wednesday to you and all who follow this thread. OH YESSS, El, you must get Three Lives Of Thomasina, but fore warning you, you will need a box of tissues. It is a very old Disney movie, the little girl (and I think the boy, also) was the kids in Mary Poppins. My movie arrived today!!!!!(Go to Amazon.com ) your movies will be cheap!!!!!!!! Robinson Cruso on Mars is absolutely fantastic! Another one by Disney. I have a friend mailing me a copy from E BAY, so hard to track that one down, and you can get a TREE GROWS IN BROOKLYN on Amazon. com.

Talking about this EBOLA scare,

This is a real frightened,
at present in GUINEA, SIERRA LEONE, LIBERIA...

strikes me that it's going to be nigh on impossible
to curtail the spread of this one,
Or contain it, so dangerous
there's no known cure..
and SO many now affected.

It's like olden times, when all they had to help during an amputation,
was a strong whiskey,
Instead of a variety of today's high powered anaesthetics;

seems they are just trying out some kind of meds
with this Ebola
which may help a little but none of which have been tried or tested..
Dead scary when you think about it,
HOW can something like that be kept at bay, when one considers
Travel and handling of monies etc.. All the chances there are of contracting it.

SHIVER!!!!

It's like it has taken over, this obsession with getting on to Topix, knocking down all
the obstacles, it's a daily challenge now. We should hold competitions to see who
can get on the quickest, they win the Gold Star that day. lol.........Losing it Vee!...:)
Right....you have spurred me on to doing something I have been putting off, I can
get those movies for free if I get my finger out and set up my Kindle....I have been putting
it off but no longer. The three movies you recommend are top of my Wish List.
Putting aside tomorrow to try to configure the tablet.

No need to resort to violence, lol

as you referred to GB and France,(excluding Israel incidentally, so GB, France AND Israel
were forced out by the UN certainly, comprising of the Soviet Union and the USA regardelss
of the small number of seats both held in the United Nations.

Anyone interesting in this subject?

I find it's potential SO frightening, the WHO is now talking about whether or not to put out
a global warning on EBOLA...
Liberia has eclared a state of emergency ..
900 + already dead.

When you think of it, just ONE case in any one of our countries
and after that it's the case of increase + multiply..
We know it isn't airborne but how do you stop contact
With sooo many people...
and scarier to think they have NO sure-fire cure for it.

Talk about Truth being stranger than fiction!!!

Does anyone remember the movie "OUTBREAK" ?

Very interested Grace and nothing but pity for those affected, in
fact I was watching the news a few days ago as I usually
do at breakfast time, and was so impressed by the compassion
shown by the Mayor, I believe he was, of a town in Georgia,
justifying bringing the doctor and colleague, who have
sadly caught the disease in caring for others, back home.
But it is very scary....from what we are given to understand
it strikes those who are more vulnerable in that their diets
are poor.
Essential to be on our guard and not put ourselves in the position
where we may be at risk, and to me, aircraft could be one of the main
places it could be borne.

info it isn't an airborne virus.....

Blood and body fluids contain large amounts of virus, thus transmission of the virus has also occurred as a result of hypodermic needles being reused in the treatment of patients. Reusing needles is not an uncommon practice in developing countries, such as Zaire, Gabon, and Sudan, where the health care system is signficantly underfinanced.

one has to ask then why create a world panic and why is it spreading .. so lets start at the treatment centers 1st

The real problem is air flights can put it around the world. Was there a woman on a flight to London got sick on the plane. I never heard any more about it so I don't know if it is true or not We brought two back to the states and they are getting better, How did doctors get it in the first place? It is spread by fluids but who knows?

Since it is by blood it would seem that mosquitoes could transmit it by biting someone with the disease. Of course if that was the case aids would also be transmitted the same way . I am off to the garage sale. I got a contrat within 2 days on my new listing. Full price offer

So is there an infection risk for passengers?

Even if the air is appropriately circulated there are however, ways that infections can be transmitted to passengers:
Contact infection. This occurs from body-to-body contact or from large droplets that are sprayed several feet when an infected person sneezes, coughs or talks. The virus or bacteria sprayed at you then enters your body and infects you through your eyes, nose or mouth.
Airborne infection. This occurs when larger infected droplets partially evaporate. The residue or smaller droplets becomes widely dispersed in the air and remains there until the air is exchanged or appropriately filtered.
