Good morning El and Grace :) I hope you weekend is going grear. It is a cool August morning and that is something that almost never happens in Texas. We had some good rain and we need a lot more
Hi again Denny....I remember this time last year it was searing hot in Texas....and in
drought as I recall.....strange goings on with the weather all over the hockey....one
of my neighbours has just come back from her holiday 'down South' and she said
it was unbearable, not knowing it was pretty much the same here.
Hope you are having a nice weekend.

Grace, just a quick comment on leaving your pets, I could never find anyone (except you and El) to watch my animals and care for them so intensely the way I do, too many horror stories. You find these nannies and babysitters who on the surface, appear somewhat normal, and they wind up killing the kids. People are sick, a good way to sum that up, they had someone in New York throw a dog over a bridge and he survived. Maybe you, El, and myself should start our own business, if we need to go away, we have some kind of home-away-from-home for our four legged fur babies. Now with El, I would have to build a huge 12 foot bed and breakfast to accomondate her lovelys, you just have the one. Of course the two of you would have to move stateside, but who better then us 3 to maintain something like that?
'Morning Vee....and a happy Saturday!
I think Grace has answered for both she and I and far more eloquently than I ever
could, that this would be a wonderful proposition in another time, when we (she and
I) were younger....myself, I am hard pushed to look after the ones I have already,
the eldest who will be 18 in mid-September, and I know he will make it, has been
diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism, he is also profoundly deaf, has a polyp in his
ear and a rodent ulcer on his chin. My beautiful Dai. He is on medication which
I apply in his ear as he would not take tablets, not even hidden in my own Tiger
Prawns, and has TLC throughout the day.
The next one down has recently had surgery and is recovering very well....also
receives TLC throughout the day.
The eldest girl cat is anorexic...I hand feed and she shares my own food, is
partial to Wild Salmon. Canned.
I weigh them weekly, the heaviest is almost 14 lbs...they are all heavyweights apart
from Mitzi, the anorexic. She is a mere 8 and half lbs.
My hairdresser was telling me Wednesday that her male Siberian Husky has sired
9 puppies....all look like him..and he is Gorgeous.
Just finish by thanking you for the awesome photo of Murphy with his pal Mungo.....
he is a credit to you and to your sister.
Enjoy your weekend Vee.

Sadly I couldn't bring up the link, but
You describe it perfectly..
A little bit of Heaven, indeed.

I remember when I was around 10 yrs old..

After school, we would be given a sandwich >
2slices of
thick white homemade bread, strawberry jam/butter in between
plus 1 banana, and a bottle of milk!
No yogurts and coca-cola those days!

then we'd all go to the local river & swim.. dive & play
for hours, we came home ravenous and with rosebud complexions,
any movie star might envy:)
no need for specialised face-creams ..potions & lotions back then, lol

Sounds perfect....the 100+ yr old flying horses carousel intrigued me, for personal
reason.

Thought I would mention...a funeral during the week in a nearby village led by a
fellow wearing a Top Hat...walking ahead.,,a neighbour told me that it was the
norm here not too long ago, I hadn't realised that.

That makes sense, thanks for clearing that up. Just a glitch in the system
then....I thought I had been banned, lol, especially when I found myself
signed out.

Some good old movies on telly this weekend, may watch 'Picnic' and one
much older,'The Philadelphia Story'..with Katherine Hepburn and Cary Grant...
the weather has turned and it's ideal for putting feet up...good food, a movie.

Morning El-

Morning ALL.

YES El,
My late brother's funeral was in London, a few years ago
and was led in the way...you mentioned...

EVERYTHING about how they managed his funeral
In England was outstanding, the attention to detail
had to be seen!

We were treated with warmth and great sensitivity.

KUDOS all round.

Good morning El and Grace. I hope your weekend is going great. I am getting spoiled with this wonderful mild weather. In August it is normally our hottest month with lots of days over 100. I may have got a new listing yesterday at a garage sale. I went and talked to the woman. She was set up with another agent but had signed no contract so I do have a good chance. I had a good garage sale day. Best buy was 2 western holsters and a shoulder holster all like new and worth about $350 and I paid $50. They should sell quick at a garage sale. One had a price tag on it priced at $55 but that was from 1991 and they sell for a lot more today

Good Afternoon Grace,
It tends to soften the blow a little when a funeral is so well conducted.....
I remember our brothers passed within a short time of each other, a
very sad time.
I 'took part' in such a funeral some years ago here in Wales, I was invitied
to do so naturally!..:) It was a jolly affair. A band from New Orleans did the
honours, didn't know the deceased, so did not know the connection if any.

Anyways, has been really cold here this morning, in fact I put the heating on
when I came in....

Good Morning Denny. Interesting 'finds'....I expect the sort of thing you would expect to
find in Texas, I dunno. Quality doesn't deteriorate if looked after....so you should be able
to make a profit no problem.
Fingers crossed for the listing....hope you won her over!

I would love to take you to a gun show. Lots of very polite people because everyone is probably armed. You see all kinds of things, not only guns. Beautiful craft items, collector items. I had a canteen from WW1 that looked new. Lots of people collect military items, I also had a trench knife from WW1. You even see machine guns on big tripod mounts. You need a class 3 license to buy one of those. To own a machine gun you need to pay $200. Now when the gun control act was passed about 1934 you could buy a Thompson machine gun from Sears for $125 so you can see the tax was huge back in the day. A $2 silencer had the same $200 tax. All the tragic deaths here like Waco . 83 people were killed over a $200 tax. Randy Weaver in Idaho had his son and wife murdered over a $200 tax on a shotgun that was 3/8 of an inch to short in the stock. We used to have no federal agents that were armed other than US marshals. The FBI got to carry guns around 1920. Today nearly every government agency is armed. I like armed citizens not an armed government
