Good morning El :) Getting ready to garage sale. Not much yesterday. I did buy 4 Tommy Bahama silk shirts for $1 each. They cost about $90 each. People who live in very expensive homes don't buy junk :)
Good Morning Denny...again, a fab find. But I always found that people who lived in
very expensive homes were more tight-fisted than most. Unless inherited they had
worked hard to buy those homes and made them more reluctant to give anything away.
So let us know what you find today anyway...:)

Well three cheers, I finally managed to get back into topix.
I hit reply and am overtaken with full screen adverts which,
when deleted, deletes topix altogether.
If anybody has the answer, would be so grateful.

GRACE.....tried all morning (on and off) to reply to your post..
are you having this cold snap we are having here..not to mention
the light drizzle? Brrrr. Felt incredibly sorry for Brazil, players
and the Manager, not to say Germany didn't play magnificently,
they did, but just crossing fingers for Brazil tonight, that they are
not so humilitated as before.

A charming letter from a 9 year old girl to the Brazilian Captain
who was crying after the match, telling him he had done his best
that he must not be sad.....it was really sweet.

VEE..disappointed not to see you here, hope you are 'with computer'
by this time and that all is well.

PP....always glad to see ya.....:)

SIR TALLY....there is a real chill in the air here, how is your weather lately?

Wishing everyone a good day and thinking fondly of DW, Krypteia, Tony
and Franko.....where you at????...:)

Two out-of-staters won top honors Saturday at the 7th annual Big Rib BBQ & Blues Fest in Highland Park.

Smokin’ T’s of Long Grove, Illinois, and Porky ‘N’ Beans of Port St. Lucie, Florida, won the juried competition for best sauce and best ribs during the four-day festival, which ends Sunday.

Second place for best sauce went to Texas Pit BBQ of Willis, Texas. Gator BBQ from Ontario, Canada, received the best ribs silver prize.

East Rochester’s Good Smoke BBQ, 326 W. Commercial St., finished third in both categories.

Event organizers will present one more award on Sunday — the People’s Choice Award. Each festivalgoer has the chance to cast his or her ballot at the event.

The festival is open from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sun

weather is fine , all meals are a matter of taste ..

Lets me out then...I am very softly spoken although I do laugh loud. I am reminded of
an occasion in Spain, one morning in the small town tree lined town square, men playing
boules, a lady came along, sat on a form, and proceeded to sing, totally uninhibited and the
atmosphere was enchanting. We Brits are far too inhibited..although things are changing,
with the generations.

You didn't mention where Highland Park is. Can't go if you don't give us the full info!..:)
Good that the Good Smoke BBQ 326 W Commercial St., had a double win.
To be honest, I have never indulged in a BBQ in my life. They have them here but
on a small scale...one of my neighbours has one periodically to which we are
invited, but I am suspicious of how well the food is cooked. Our gardens are
small so all it means to me is I am breathing in their rubbishy fumes.

Good Morning Sir Tally and all who grace the thread.

Good morning El. I had my best find in a long time yesterday. I bought 6 Coach purses and 3 Dooneys for $80 and they are all like new. That is about $2700 new. My wife was thrilled and took the best and I will sell the rest :) People just amaze me at what they set value on and how quickly they tire of things

Jul 11, 2014 · Upstate New York ... The 7th Annual Big Rib BBQ & Blues Festival began Thursday at Rochester's Highland Park and will live music

but the object of the post is ..... taste is the pallet of the eater . not who makes what or where .......... and as you see someone agrees because they icon a review blog ... and they aren't even here..

every place sounds like the best , one wouldn't give themselves a negative review .....

ribs are a two step process how you prepare/cook the rib and your seasoning
are you fussy about your TEA

hint all places get their meats from the same distributor .. so it is in the cooking that you prefer

learn:
Wholesale Meat Terms to Know

Wholesalers butcher and package large quantities of meat, then market it in fresh or frozen form to retailers, including restaurants and supermarkets. Some meat wholesalers offer a variety of cuts of beef, pork, mutton or lamb, and poultry. Others specialize in a particular type or cut of meat. Below are useful terms to know for understanding the wholesale process.
Wholesale Pricing - The main advantage to purchasing meat from a wholesale supplier is discount pricing. Because wholesalers purchase large quantities of meat in bulk, they can typically offer lower prices for the same quality product.
Cuts - A particular slice of beef, pork, poultry or mutton that a butcher cuts from a specific part of the animal. There are numerous terms for different cuts of meat, the most popular including T-bone steaks, strip steaks, and ribs. Sirloins, tenderloins, roasts, shoulders and briskets are also common cuts.
Wholesale Seafood Distributor - Just as wholesale distributors play a large role in the meat, industry, so too do they act as a middleman between fishermen and retailers. Seafood wholesalers market fresh, frozen and live varieties of fish, from salmon and sole to shellfish such as scallops, shrimp and crabs.
The Meat Inspection Act - This law ensures food safety in the United States by requiring inspection of animals before they are slaughtered and defining standards of cleanliness for meatpacking facilities.
Organic Meat - An official United States Department of Agriculture certification referring to meat produced without the use of hormones, antibiotics or other chemicals. Animals raised for organic meat eat organic feed and graze in pastures that are not sprayed with synthetic fertilizers or herbicides. Because of the extra care and cost involved with raising organic meat, it costs more than factory farmed meat.

National Meat Association

Gents......

picture me in a butcher's shop in New Jersey having been
raised on New Zealand lamb.....and automatically asking
the butcher for NZ lamb.....big queue behind me...small
child at my side (my son)..the butcher looked horrified and
said "lady, have you ever heard of Texas..we don't need
New Zealand"....lol....
one of my embarrassing moments while in the USA.
