The news about Peaches Geldof earlier took me by complete
surprise, I had just logged in and had this particularly amusing
(I thought)! anecdote to tell you all, when I heard about it in the
background. Rather a shock as in a way history repeating itself,
it is only 13 years since her mother, Paula Yates died suddenly,
aged 41.
So Grace, didn't mean to take away from your news, and can only
say I hope your PM enjoys the Queen's hospitality as much as
was shown to HRH in Dublin. Looking forward to seeing it unfold.
Guests here, I crept on in their absence, but back on track tomorrow,
meantime, love to all, Grace, Rose, PFfff, DW, Tally,MH, Denny, LIM,

VEE.....for the first time, the Forget-Me-Nots have flowered! The most
beautiful blue you ever saw.
Not at all - Good Morning El,

Perfectly understandable about yesterday's news..

Look like some 'sudden adult death syndrome'
Is the cause (at this stage) but much too early to tell.

I feel so sorry for her husband and little children..
And devastated for her dear Dad, Bob, the man who spent hours
on the phone,
Into the night, begging and cajoling money out of
People for his great FEED THE WORLD campaign, all done in an effort to
save lives..
and now his beautiful daughter-gone.

Sad sad sad.. For the entire Geldof clan.

So sad to see that Bob Geldoff's [I Don't Like Mondays w/ the Boomtown Rats] 25-year old Peaches passed on. I cannot fathom the passing of one of my dear daughters, and the youngest will be 25 in May.
So too the passing of Mickey Rooney at 93 -- once the top box-office draw for some time -- after having a fulfilling career for a very, very, very long time.
R.I.P.

Morning Grace.

"We are beyond pain" is how Bob describes how they feel. Which
we can well imagine. He was wonderful in doing what he did for the
Third World, the money he was responsible for raising saved so
many lives.......true. This family have known so much suffering, it
doesn't seem just.

Saw your President, Michael D Higgins, leaving Ireland this morning, along
with his beautiful wife, hope they have a happy, safe and successful tour,
it will be good to see them in London.
We learnt what a lovely lady his predicesser was, so gracious, when the Queen
went to Ireland, it was wonderful being 'part' of that occasion, hope this goes
as well as that one.

"Gerry and the Pacemakers; and Ferry Across the Mersey [sing it El !]"

I'll pass on the invitation thanks Cuz Luke, lol

but it leads me to the amusing story I was about to tell y'all yesterday.

Right. Sunday. Big match between Liverpool F.C and West Ham.
Big big match as Liverpool are in line for the cup.
Well, we had company one of whom was a lady. Still is actually, lol.
Her husband was rooting for West Ham, which didn't go down too well
with we two, his wife was not a football fan at all.
She was however, a fan of Gerry and The Pacemakers back in the day, and
it just so happens that Liverpool Football Club's 'anthem' is 'You'll Never
Walk Alone".
So we settle down to watch the match, all contented after Sunday lunch,
and on comes the match.
To my surprise this lady sings along with the crowd...and not quietly either.
Fair enough, we all like a bit of enthusiasm, but throughout the game she never
shut up singing......(:
And as you know, we take our footie seriously in this house, lol
West Ham's 'anthem' is I'm Forever Blowin' Bubbles' the ground is covered
in bubbles before the game, and me, hoping that Liverpool would win,
which they did, lowered myself to sing West Ham's signature tune. haha
But it was a fun day and the bottom line is Liverpool won...:)

Hi Lady Eleanor...
Spring has returned at least for today... The sun is shining and that is always welcome... We have had the worst time with rain this past week... They estimated that we got between 4 and 6 inches of rain 3 days ago and we have more rain coming in...
So my yard is still kinda mushy in spots and when the rain gets here it will turn back into as muddy swamp...
Heavy Sigh......:o(
I went out into the yard yesterday and turned the mulch and did a general clean up... I am afraid two of my roses didn't make it... I am holding hope that they are just slow in showing spring growth...
I need to get out there today and prune out the dead stems out of the roses that are showing new growth...
I have a beautiful 3 foot tall white pine tree that I am going to plant as soon as weather and ground will permit... That is something I really miss about Alabama... When I lived there the smell of the pines was awesome...
I hope that you are enjoying a beautiful day and that You and Yours are Happy and Healthy... Sending You all of my Best Wishes...
((Love-n-Hugs))
@}-'--,---
Hello Dear Rose. Going down to Port earlier, I could not get the visual of the pine groves
in Alabama, out of my mind, how fortunate you are to have experienced that.
There are pine woods in Newborough on the edge of the island on which I used to live, I would walk the dogs there, a really special place. There is a Lighthouse there which tolls it's bell
as the wind dictates, it is such a haunting sound..I miss that.
Well, I do hope those two roses make it, it's early days so don't give up hope, you
may see growth from the base one of these fine mornings. Will the rain help thatdo you think?
Did I tell you there are actually buds on the roses in my little garden? I couldn't
believe it, normally they would bloom late May. Another surprise was the Peony
which has not flowered at all, has two buds.
The Hostas are coming through....the continuity of plant life is awesome.
Your white pine sounds awesome too.
Your wishes are my wishes and as always,
Love and Hugs,
xx

got my first kitchen herbs today, Sage, Curly Parsley and Coriander.
I will grow them on a window-sill indoors.
The plants at the store were obviously not watered, I hate seeing them get to this
stage, anyway I picked two and asked for a reduction, got them for half price,
picked all the dead leaves and flowers which were going to seed off when I got home,
gave them a drink and they are right as rain.
Wormery? Good thinking.
A firm is selling Greenfly by post here, about 24 for 10 pounds or so, larvae cheaper,
but I would be afraid of them flying off!

Bora in the morning, Cuz El ! So too William, Kate, and little George enjoying the hospitality of the New Zealanders while Her Majesty hosts the Irish PM.
And the info bit: Princes William and George had special permission of the Queen to travel there together. That applies to when Princes Charles and William traveled together in the past, I reckon.
I wonder if permission is required when two heirs to the throne travel together by motor car, or train, or carriage (way back when); if indeed they have ever done so.
Prynhawn Da {{{Cuz Luke}}}...:)
Did you see the royal couple dancing? That was pretty cool.
I expect you are right about two Heirs requiring permission to travel together,
it would be protocol no doubt.
I must say I do think Kate is very much like Diana in her 'handling' of meeting
the public. She seems genuine enough.
Hope this finds you and yours, bearing the Mom-in-waiting, keeping in the best
of health.

freezing but in reality was 46, later in the afternoon soared to a dizzy 52.....now
being born in Summer I feel the cold, but one's hubby, born around Christmas is
forever hot, so you can imagine how I felt when he had the air-conditioning on in the
car to greet me when he picked me up.
