Hi Dear Rose, hope you soon got a good night's sleep, and feel all the better for it this morning.
I could help you there with breaking up the clay if'n you was nearer....we have tons of slate
waste at our disposal, also slabs of the stuff, in fact we dispensed with the lawn and made a patio
using the slate in a crazy paving manner, instead of concreting them together they have
little ground cover plants inbetween....quite pretty.
I wasn't aware until I read it, as it seemed quite cold over the Winter months, but we have
apparently had a particularly mild Winter according to those who know about these things,
as a result Summer plants are coming into bloom early. Bluebells which normally carpet the
woods are showing their faces now, and I couldn't believe it when I discovered the tulips
are opening in my garden this morning.....:)
I am thinking about starting the tommies soon...and a new one is available which is black...
dunno...but, it has the benefits of the blueberry, the aubergine and all things dark.
The Pride send their love to the Pack
and I send my love to you...<3
Hi Lady Eleanor...
Spring has returned at least for today... The sun is shining and that is always welcome... We have had the worst time with rain this past week... They estimated that we got between 4 and 6 inches of rain 3 days ago and we have more rain coming in...
So my yard is still kinda mushy in spots and when the rain gets here it will turn back into as muddy swamp...
Heavy Sigh......:o(
I went out into the yard yesterday and turned the mulch and did a general clean up... I am afraid two of my roses didn't make it... I am holding hope that they are just slow in showing spring growth...
I need to get out there today and prune out the dead stems out of the roses that are showing new growth...
I have a beautiful 3 foot tall white pine tree that I am going to plant as soon as weather and ground will permit... That is something I really miss about Alabama... When I lived there the smell of the pines was awesome...
I hope that you are enjoying a beautiful day and that You and Yours are Happy and Healthy... Sending You all of my Best Wishes...

mow the yard now , set wheels at 2- 3/4" until June and then drop height to 2-1/4"..... mow every 7 days... and go oppose directions on every other week
Why? so the grass doesn't begin to lay flat in one direction... never cross cut your front yard [you aren't a ball park] and if you have a side yard [of the house] then mow front walk to back.... this gives the optical illusion that your yard is longer .... tear drop trees as well and last don't over water your lawn , grass is a short root plant , weeds are a deep root plant
now crank that mower up , what is his name ??????????

I'm terribly sorry Grace....I just heard the extremely sad news about
Peaches Geldof's passing at the age of 25.
My heart goes out to her children, her father Bob and the family.
Rest In Peace Peaches.

The news about Peaches Geldof earlier took me by complete
surprise, I had just logged in and had this particularly amusing
(I thought)! anecdote to tell you all, when I heard about it in the
background. Rather a shock as in a way history repeating itself,
it is only 13 years since her mother, Paula Yates died suddenly,
aged 41.

So Grace, didn't mean to take away from your news, and can only
say I hope your PM enjoys the Queen's hospitality as much as
was shown to HRH in Dublin. Looking forward to seeing it unfold.

Guests here, I crept on in their absence, but back on track tomorrow,
meantime, love to all, Grace, Rose, PFfff, DW, Tally,MH, Denny, LIM,
Princess Hey and Wild Flower.

VEE.....for the first time, the Forget-Me-Nots have flowered! The most
beautiful blue you ever saw.

Good evening/morning Kitchen-eers.

Today was a five-letter day ... soggy.[and a damp chill]. Today was Monday. "Rainy days and Mondays always get me down."

So sad to see that Bob Geldoff's [I Don't Like Mondays w/ the Boomtown Rats] 25-year old Peaches passed on. I cannot fathom the passing of one of my dear daughters, and the youngest will be 25 in May.

So too the passing of Mickey Rooney at 93 -- once the top box-office draw for some time -- after having a fulfilling career for a very, very, very long time.

R.I.P.

Bora in the morning, Cuz El ! So too William, Kate, and little George enjoying the hospitality of the New Zealanders while Her Majesty hosts the Irish PM.

And the info bit: Princes William and George had special permission of the Queen to travel there together. That applies to when Princes Charles and William traveled together in the past, I reckon.

I wonder if permission is required when two heirs to the throne travel together by motor car, or train, or carriage (way back when); if indeed they have ever done so.

Crappy is a 5-letter word that works too.

[Don't let the sun catch you cryin']
"We know that cryin's not a bad thing
But stop your cryin' when the birds sing "

Gerry and the Pacemakers; and Ferry Across the Mersey [sing it El !]

Howdy PF .... Dear: y/w
