EL,
You referred here to the smog, and indeed I can see
It is a real problem..

All I can say is, over here about 10 years ago Dublin was affected in the
same way, you couldn't see your hand before you..

I know the MINISTER FOR THE ENVIRONMENT here took it
on board VERY seriously at the
time, she was relentless, and banned all fuels from use
Except smokeless fuels..

Granted Dublin (as we know) is so much smaller than London,
But it did the trick, and in no time the smog drifted, and we haven't seen it
Since.

We are still under the ruling of smokeless coal,
it may not be as radiant as the other kind,
BUT, we have clean air now..
and so,'twas well worth the changeover.

'Evening Grace...

you will see the vast difference then also in the colour of the buildings,
I recall when they brought the 'Clean Air Act' in, in my home town of
Manchester, what we considered 'fog' disappeared in no time at all,
it had to be beneficial to health overall.
Today, not sure. Is this a combination of pollution and the sand blown
in from the Sahara?'They' say it will all be gone by tomorrow...strange.

Surely it cannot be due to global warming?

Has anybody any views on whether it could well be.

Have a nice evening everyone....am off up the dancers now!

Nite Nite.

Good Morning Everyone,

a slight improvement in the weather today, still hazy,
still rainin'.....then, it IS Wales...:)

Motoring down to Port the other day, was struck by how
bluey/green the fields were, offset by the golden gorse
in the hedgerows, and also, how many ewes were
with twin lambs this year.....really a nice sight to see.

I thought I would share this with y'all.

Had a 'phone call the other day from the daughter of a dear
friend back home, now passed. She isn't young herself, and
unbeknownst to me, she had been in hospital where she underwent
a Masectomy.

I commiserated with her, but she was having none of it. "It had
to be done, so I thought to myself, just get on with it" was her
reply. She is indeed a chip of the old block, I could almost
hear her mother talking for a minute there.
She told me that they don't keep patients in longer than they
can help it, she was in hospital for just one night.
I found her attitude to it all very inspiring.

Wishing you all a good day.

I think it is funny that people who can not put up a web site after spending millions of dollars think they can control the weather. We have not had global warming for 17 years :) They have had to stop calling it global warming and now call it climate change. Hell yes we have always had climate change. It has been both warmer and colder and it is caused by the sun :)

Thanks for this Denny....I take it you're not a devotee of Al Gore. lol

Thing is, climate change has speeded up. Deforestation on the part
of man is one reason, and burning coal, gas and oil other reasons.

I think there is evidence of climate change,
Experts believe since the mid 20th century on..
humans have been responsible for this and
how GREENHOUSE GASES affect the atmosphere.

Also, wasn't it over 30 years or so when they began to
worry about the ozone layer and how it was being affected
Also by mankind..

It is such a wide subject, and like cancer,
hard to know what causes certain harm,
Speaking of cancer El,
very impressive about your friend and her
'Just get on with it' policy!

I saw one episode of BREAKING BAD in the 3rd series
which made me laugh,
this is not giving any of the story away,
The episode was called THE FLY..
Look out for that one.

The whole thing continues to be thrilling.

Where are you now in it..

Happeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee e Friday, I am at the library! Got word on my computer that it is the hard drive and mother board. Because it is so old, Matt may not be able to find parts for it so he has a lot of stuff around the house and said he would rebuild it for me. Looks like I will be using the library for awhile, but I dont mind. The weather has been fantastic, Murphy is 90 pounds and climbing. Grace, El, and everyone, hope everything is going well, hope all animals are well.
Great to see you on Vee,
Hope you get this while still in the library.

At least that's looking good about your computer..
Tell him I said to HURRY UP:)
we're waiting to have you back,

Very happy Murphy us doing SO well.

Take care.

Thanks Grace....my friend is one of the lucky ones I know.
Who knows...could just be a brave face she is putting on..
nobody really knows how other people actually feel.
Coming to the end of the 2nd series..and I will, I will look
out for the one you mention.
Pity it wasn't P's cup of tea!

Good Morning El, and all here.

Yes sometimes very difficult to know another's
thoughts.
I remember (MANY (lol) years ago
when I was in the maternity hospital going
into labour with my 1st child..
and I was so green about it all back then,
there was a patient beside me, I was trying
to talk to her, as I was nervous, but found her
most unfriendly and reluctant to engage.

Soon after my child was born, she was one of the
first over to me to offer congrats..and explained
Then she explained how
she had had a stillborn child!!
and didn't want to open discussion when I arrived in,
Lest it would upset me!
Yes, we seldom know another's thoughts.

Happy Weeken.

Good morning El and Grace and all my friends here.I just get tired of all the alarm about everything. If we don't do X then the sky will fall. There have been so many crisis. The population explosion ,the ice age was predicted in 1973, Global warming predicted there would be no ice in the Arctic now. The seas will rise and destroy New York. There has always been the same amount of water in the world. If the Arctic ice melted the seas wound not rise an inch. If you have a glass full of water and ice does the glass run over when the ice melts? Only ice on land melting would add to the level. It has been both colder and warmer but so what. What would happen in England if it was a little warmer? It used to be warmer in England and you grew grapes and produced a lot of wine
