Enjoyed a day out yesterday, fitted in going to see "Dallas Buyers
Club" at the multi-cinema complex along the coast.
Amazing movie, the acting along with the story-line (based on fact)
was second to none.
Good Morning to All here, sorry I missed you yet another Friday
VEE!(laptop does it for me, gives more freedom of movement)
PP....I'm with you, ready to chill...enjoy your weekend after your
busy week.
SIR TALLY....where's the Spring like weather, lol foggy day her
and a wind fit to blow the house down.
Wait.......the fog is lifting as I speak....wind dropping.....could be a
nice day after all.
Have a good weekend everyone.
That was a great movie. The guy who was a cross dresser was fantastic. I saw him at the academy awards and had no idea of who he was

It was brilliant, well worth going to see. I had no idea throughout the movie that
the cross dresser was in fact Jared Leto who I saw at the awards for the first time
too, it was all a good message too.

It does indeed, positively exhausting making the trip there AND back in
the same day. Got a few lined up myself and glad to have my 'driver'
at times......can do without driving on the motorway myself.

Alzheimer's Disease has been discussed here before. I heard about this story earlier today and got through it in 4 parts.
It's only about a retired college basketball coach written by a hack local to the university.
It's really about keeping connected as related by the scribe [in reality a Pulitizer Prize finalist for previous commentary], and is apt for our relative, friend, or a cherished neighbor -- any of our loved ones.

""It was just pure joy. That uninhibited joy in the music," Linnea says. "It's one of those moments that you know there's more there, or momentarily there, than sometimes you're aware of."
This is what she hopes for now. A moment of joy. A moment of connection. A moment when Dean Smith is still there."
******** "WHY DO WE CARE about sports to begin with? Why do we watch? Maybe this: to connect. In the arena, or in a sports bar, or maybe just alone on your couch, you watch your favorite team and you plug into something bigger than yourself. It's a hedge against the coldness of the world. Heaven is other people."
"Here is the special cruelty of it: The connector has become disconnected. The man who held the family together has broken off and drifted away. He is a ghost in clothes, dimmed by a disease that has no cure. Even the people closest to him sometimes slip into the past tense: Coach Smith was. They can't help it. They honor him with what amounts to an open-ended eulogy. At the same time, they keep looking for a crack in the curtains. They do what people do when faced with the longest goodbye. They do the best they can."
After the event I read the article, watched the video. And I am truly humbled at this
moment in time.

I'm in 100% agreement
I pray to God that none of us here, or any one known to us personally,
has this terrible condition to contend with.
My comments were harsh even to my own ears, but I stand by them
as I know it if it were myself I would want to be released from the
total dependency upon others....for their sakes also.

don't blame her in the slightest...that happens here if you choose to drive slowly
most unnerving. I wish P would cut back but no.....80 mph on the Expressway
the other day...couple of occasions I allowed myself to scream! haha
In all fairness we wouldn't have got there in time had he not.
Your nephew following in your footsteps then.....you must be very proud.

I'm fine with driving,
The only thing is.

I'm not great at night driving anymore, city night driving perfectly ok..
but, out Kate in black rural roads I easily
become confused and my judgment is off!
It took me ages to admit this to myself somehow,
But now I'm resigned to it and don't put myself
In the way of it, anymore.

And am glad of the bonus that I can drive ANYWHERE by day,
The long journeys are a little more tiring than they used to be
(I find, like Tally)

But we must expect some changes as we grow older..

It's a good driver who realises their limitations and I do not mean that
to sound anything but praiseworthy.
Driving was one of my passions, but motorways never, but I drive
as I always have, when I am fortunate enough to take over the wheel...:)
I tend to adopt Joan Collins philosophy in many respects, which is
pay no mind to the date of birth, but rather to one's capabilities.

lol Denny....you will find that hour when you are not looking for it, most likely when
you turn the clocks back.
It's a beautiful light just now, we had coffee and toasted tea cakes outside on the
patio, in the SUN....can you believe it, it is finally looking like Spring.
Thinking of popping down to the coast to see a sun set.....
