Happeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeee Friday and every day inbetween that I was not here. I am at the library. I am using the only avail computer for visually impaired. The keys are so freaking big I could sit in the parking loot and still type. ha ha ha ha ha. I sent off my taxes and if I get enough back I will get a new computer. I think I all I need is a hard drive, but is a lap top better then a desk top? Anyone know? I would like an, all in one desk top, but I am not techno savvy. Murphy Doodle is over 70 pounds now and just turned 4 months. Huge, I mean freaking huge!!!!!!!!!! Happy March!!!! It is freezing here, and rainy. Raining the past few days like there is no tomorrow and tonight or tomorrow will be back into ther 30's. Grace, El, miss you!!!!!!!!!!

Alzheimer's Disease has been discussed here before. I heard about this story earlier today and got through it in 4 parts.
It's only about a retired college basketball coach written by a hack local to the university.

This is what she hopes for now. A moment of joy. A moment of connection. A moment when Dean Smith is still there."

Heaven is other people."

He is a ghost in clothes, dimmed by a disease that has no cure. Even the people closest to him sometimes slip into the past tense: Coach Smith was. They can't help it. They honor him with what amounts to an open-ended eulogy. At the same time, they keep looking for a crack in the curtains. They do what people do when faced with the longest goodbye. They do the best they can."

A trifle analytical wouldn't you say Cuz Luke.....I think it correct to say that everything
we watch on tv is "bigger than ourselves"....
Why do I watch? Purely and simply for the pleasure of watching athletes perform against
others, and recently, hopefully to the best their abilities, lol

And I would add that, moving as the story of Dean Smith is, and sorry as I am that he has
been afflicted by Alzheimer's, without reading the link but going soley on the copied
excerpt, I firmly believe that this condition is a case for euthanasia. When all hope of recovery has gone, when dignity is no longer there, then I believe it cruel to keep the
person afflicted by this in a state of vegetation.
The main people against this are the religious community...."the sanctity of life"....but when
life is no longer there, when that person is helpless, mentally and physically, then religion
should be waved aside. imo.
Meantime, working towards a cure for those diagnosed in early stages is of prime importance.

That was a great movie. The guy who was a cross dresser was fantastic. I saw him at the academy awards and had no idea of who he was

It was brilliant, well worth going to see. I had no idea throughout the movie that
the cross dresser was in fact Jared Leto who I saw at the awards for the first time
too, it was all a good message too.

It does indeed, positively exhausting making the trip there AND back in
the same day. Got a few lined up myself and glad to have my 'driver'
at times......can do without driving on the motorway myself.

After the event I read the article, watched the video. And I am truly humbled at this
moment in time.

I pray to God that none of us here, or any one known to us personally,
has this terrible condition to contend with.
My comments were harsh even to my own ears, but I stand by them
as I know it if it were myself I would want to be released from the
total dependency upon others....for their sakes also.
