Context: years ago I posted on another site/forum/message board collection with a New England farmer and an English gal having a personal connection. Face-to-face contact was limited for a time while being separated by this ocean between and they were working on being together. I was inspired to honor their connection with this:

Smiles Across Miles --- circa 2005

We are partners
in smiles across miles
with word love bridge.

We are partners
in sport of the sort
for cavorts in nature.

We are partners
of support in day's time
to share bothers.

We are partners
in word dance, a chance
to eye-speak embrace.

We are partners
in crimes of loving passion
for private moments.

We are partners
for times of sorrow song
and elation shouts.

We are partners
of hearts tender with parts
for warmth for friends.

We are partners
of looks maturing
as life youth ends.

Thanks for checking Luke...I thought I was dreaming for a while
as I checked and couldn't find, followed by checking some more
and not finding any missing.
While I am here...the woman you mentioned whose roof had blown off,
that was on the Welsh news, it is close to where I shop occasionely.
Closer to home, a poor fellow of 77 had died in hospital after a tree fell on
him in his garden as he and his wife were bring in the chickens. Something
incredibly sad about the circumstances somehow. All such incidents
of course, are extremely sad.
Anyways, hope you are able to stay home while the roads are so bad.
I'm not movin' until it all dies down.

Good Morning El & All,

I see the UK IS still GETTING A BATTERING.
Where and WHEN will it all end.

Funny you should say in above post -
later last night I had another 'go' at posting
the poem - post>32934..
still no luck,
well, it doesn't matter now as Valentines has passed,
and here's hoping everyone had a lovely day.

Not SO bad here today, still raining and dull,
but grateful for small mercies LOL.

Indeed Congrats to Simon and his wife on the birth of his first child.

Makes no sense his saying 'it won't change my life one bit'.........

Nice the baby is named for Simon's father, Eric.

LOL!
That's what I thought Grace....
I am sure underneath it all, he is proud
as can be.
One journalist in today's paper quoted him as
saying that, and made a very cutting remark,
but it's each to their own, and I have seen
a softer side to Simon myself lately.
Plus.....damn good judge!

I was just around the threads,
will be closing down now..
invited out to dinner tonight..
must get ready:)

but..

I agree with you - again -

Simon's bound to be delighted,
I could see the same in my son's eyes on
the very recent birth of his daughter..
he was simplty'taken away'

He said to me one night

'look. how perfect she is,
just like a little fairy'

it brought tears to my eyes.

Journalists will be journalists,
but..

not a good thing to be cutting on a day of
great joy for Simon beautiful son and mother.

Yes . GREAT 'fair' Xfactor judge'

I was ready to post this on UNUSUAL thread,
but might as well put it here too lol

It's amazing how ALL dogs understand .. when accused lol:)
