I live in Boulder, Co - lot's of sad people today.

I hope Peyton sticks around for another year. The Seahawks deserved the win - the Broncos had a bad day. Too bad it was at the Super Bowl.

Hope everyone is staying warm - Wednesday the high will be 7 degrees.

<quoted text>Toasty warm, yes that seems to be the affect of the woodstove, this is the first full Winter we've used it and I couldn't be more pleased. It will dry out the air something fierce though, so I always have a pot of water sitting up on it and also use an air humidifier.
So we have more snow forecast for tomorrow, another 10 inches or so...sheesh. And another heavy snow event expected for the weekend.
About 10 days ago, I rewrote a popular ditty to reflect our sentiments here in the Hoosier State, I think I'll share it with y'all;
Let It Snow?
Oh the weather outside is frightful,
and the fire is for survival;
we all have places to gooooo,
Stop the snow, stop the snow, stop the snow!
Oh it doesn't show signs of stoppin'
the electric meter's hoppin',
though the lights are turned way down lowwwww,
Stop the snow stop the snow stop the snow!
When we slide right on through the light,
how we hate going out in the storm,
with enough bread and milk we might,
gain enough weight to stay warm!
The fica is slowly dying
The fighting kids are crying,
But as long as these schools stay closed,
STOP THE SNOW! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PLEASE STOP!
LOL! That's brilliant Paise...could sense the desperation at the end, lol

10 inches of snow, streuth, you can do without that. Nary a flake here as yet.
Do keep warm and hang on to the thought, soon be Spring.

I'm in Indy, and trust me there were as many sad folks here, this town will always love him. I'm sure he'll stick around, he's too competitive to go out like that, besides he's not injured and he's still the most awesome QB we've seen yet. Hopefully Denver will step up their defense a little, and their offensive line. Best of luck! No, wait we're in Indy and WE have Luck! lol

"SO MUCH" to be thankful for.
Please forgive Grace, I saw this post earlier and meant to reply. The phone rang and my intention was forgotten for a short bit.
Congratulations on the baby girl! Such a wondrous moment, meeting them for the first time, one you've imagined and wondered about for a long time! I'm so very happy for you!

Have been watching the pre-game discussions, something about the defence of Denver
as opposed to the offence of Seattle...but it went over my head afraid.
Just over an hour until it all kicks off....good that the really bad weather kept at bay.
Enjoy the game....
My attempt to invoke the Year of the Horse failed, eh?! As it turned out I didn't have to miss much of Doc Martin and Downton Abbey season 4.

My real hope was that it was going to be a closely-contested dramatic match, regardless of the victor and loser. It's been a few years for the outcome of a Super Bowl to be so one-sided. What you would be watching is a tutorial on a good team totally dominating another good team.

This wasn't representative of the Denver team's regular season games for the most part, nor their playoff games to get to Sunday night. But Seattle had them "in their pocket". Well done for them; a thorough domination in all facets of pro gridiron football.

For a closer football match, I wish I had time on Saturday afternoon (middle-earth IN time) to watch the Premier League contest on the color TV. Sorry for the Man U. loss.

I'm in the general area of Indianapolis. While 'we' completely are behind "the new Colts" with QB Luck, there are very many P. Manning, and therefore, Broncos fans here.

And not only because of on-field capabilities. It's also because:

It was, it was quite an entrance. I must confess I already knew the result of the game,
it was impossible not to, as it is now very popular over here and flyers on the news channel yesterday morning were full of it. No worries Paise, I was just having a bit of fun....:)

Care2.com do such wonderful work, I have been a subscriber to this for a long time now.
I don't always visit much as I should, so thanks for the reminder.
But as for the game, I love the enthusiasm and all that goes into the preparation, pre-match
was a joy. But I have to admit I just do not understand the workings of American football,
a cross between our Rugby and soccer? I watched a little to get the feel...turned over to
watch Man City v Chelsea.
Manchester United are in a slump, they are playing well but just not delivering. P's father
and my uncle played for this team...P is rapidly losing patience! I dn't desert a sinking ship and I think they will rise above this. I hope that David Moyes is given more time as Manager...Fergie wasn't so hot in the beginning.
Sunday will be a testing time for Man U.....the team they are playing are bottom of the league.

My point being.......

Not so much the fact he was mugged.....

but his sheer perseverance, he was in agony
every day, but carried on for the kids.

A hero in my book.

He is, Cuz El, he's a winner. I hope someone does the right thing and steps up and returns his gear. I've not seen any update to that.

See a bit on BBC News for America early January after the mugging happened.

Tea ... Earl Grey ... hot![please]

My account goes back to about 2001-2, and not frequented on a regular basis either. Yes, I appreciate the causes they endorse.

Did you have any American commercials on your recording? Or, are those spots filled with U.K, Ireland, and continent adverts? Just curious if you had the opportunity to get some "flavor" of the special emphasis for Super Bowl advertisements for this event.

Are Man U and Man City both in the Premier League?

There's the joking of it:

"What did you watch when the game was over?"

A: "The half-time show".

As did I, because the new episode (for us) of Downton Abbey had yet started.
