there were rumblings of the forthcoming event since Saturday..
I am OVER THE MOON..

I'm ALSO so appreciative of having lived to see another grandchild..
that might sound a bit exaggerated to younger folks-

Will see her, for the 1st time this afternoon.
"SO MUCH" to be thankful for.
Great good news about another baby girl ! Congratulations and well done to the parents and your gracious self!'Tis time for celebration!
For she's a jolly good granny

Good evening/morning Kitcheneers! Party hats and noisemakers all 'round. Cut the cake!

Sounds good to me!...:)
Have been watching the pre-game discussions, something about the defence of Denver
as opposed to the offence of Seattle...but it went over my head afraid.
Just over an hour until it all kicks off....good that the really bad weather kept at bay.
Enjoy the game....
My attempt to invoke the Year of the Horse failed, eh?! As it turned out I didn't have to miss much of Doc Martin and Downton Abbey season 4.

My real hope was that it was going to be a closely-contested dramatic match, regardless of the victor and loser. It's been a few years for the outcome of a Super Bowl to be so one-sided. What you would be watching is a tutorial on a good team totally dominating another good team.

This wasn't representative of the Denver team's regular season games for the most part, nor their playoff games to get to Sunday night. But Seattle had them "in their pocket". Well done for them; a thorough domination in all facets of pro gridiron football.

For a closer football match, I wish I had time on Saturday afternoon (middle-earth IN time) to watch the Premier League contest on the color TV. Sorry for the Man U. loss.

I live in Boulder, Co - lot's of sad people today.
I hope Peyton sticks around for another year. The Seahawks deserved the win - the Broncos had a bad day. Too bad it was at the Super Bowl.
Hope everyone is staying warm - Wednesday the high will be 7 degrees.
I'm in the general area of Indianapolis. While 'we' completely are behind "the new Colts" with QB Luck, there are very many P. Manning, and therefore, Broncos fans here.

And not only because of on-field capabilities. It's also because:

It was, it was quite an entrance. I must confess I already knew the result of the game,
it was impossible not to, as it is now very popular over here and flyers on the news channel yesterday morning were full of it. No worries Paise, I was just having a bit of fun....:)

Care2.com do such wonderful work, I have been a subscriber to this for a long time now.
I don't always visit much as I should, so thanks for the reminder.
But as for the game, I love the enthusiasm and all that goes into the preparation, pre-match
was a joy. But I have to admit I just do not understand the workings of American football,
a cross between our Rugby and soccer? I watched a little to get the feel...turned over to
watch Man City v Chelsea.
Manchester United are in a slump, they are playing well but just not delivering. P's father
and my uncle played for this team...P is rapidly losing patience! I dn't desert a sinking ship and I think they will rise above this. I hope that David Moyes is given more time as Manager...Fergie wasn't so hot in the beginning.
Sunday will be a testing time for Man U.....the team they are playing are bottom of the league.

Not so much the fact he was mugged.....

but his sheer perseverance, he was in agony

He is, Cuz El, he's a winner. I hope someone does the right thing and steps up and returns his gear. I've not seen any update to that.

See a bit on BBC News for America early January after the mugging happened.

Tea ... Earl Grey ... hot![please]

My account goes back to about 2001-2, and not frequented on a regular basis either. Yes, I appreciate the causes they endorse.

Did you have any American commercials on your recording? Or, are those spots filled with U.K, Ireland, and continent adverts? Just curious if you had the opportunity to get some "flavor" of the special emphasis for Super Bowl advertisements for this event.

Are Man U and Man City both in the Premier League?

wasn't the Broncos day.
There's the joking of it:

"What did you watch when the game was over?"

A: "The half-time show".

As did I, because the new episode (for us) of Downton Abbey had yet started.

Thank You for that - he is a class act. We are very fortunate to have him and his fans from all over the US. People cheered for the Broncos just because of Peyton.

Of course I had to watch the Budweiser commercial with the puppy and horse and cry all over again. Love that commercial.

'Morning Denny. A good time to see far away places, hope he enjoys his visit.
I do hope the class are taken to places of interest too, other than just the
touristy spots.

First time I was aware of Jamie McDonald and his run across Canada, was this
morning on Sky News. It really touched me what he had been through.
Not the choicest time for me to quote his cries of 'who's the daddy' as he crossed
the proverbial 'finishing line' but I know it would not be mis-interpreted. lol
His gear was returned and generally the Canadian public were more than charitable.

Just checked to make doubly sure...but no, just British commercials inbetween play.
Shame that.
In answer, both teams are still in the Premier League, Man City is 2nd and Man U
7th. It is the first time in 26 years that United have not been in the top 4.
Still, it isn't over until the fat lady sings, as they say....:)

I'm glad you posted that, thank you. It doesn't surprise me, his home was on the northside of Indy here off N. Meridian St. Many chance encounters around here, a couple in person and others heard about from folks around here reveal the same down to earth, unassuming guy. I've heard wait-staff report that he refused to be put ahead of the waiting list for seating at a local restaurant, joking around with folks in line at the gas station, and holding doors open for elderly folks...calling folks 'sir' and 'ma'am'. This town loves him for reasons beyond football. He's also a king of the come-back; barring injury, we'll see him at that big game again.
A short trip out to the store for me, need a few things here before this latest round of snow.
You may see some icing down there, I pray your power will stay up.

What an inspiring man! Hubby and I just read and watched. Then we checked his facebook page and 15 hours ago he reported this;

"I did it - I reached the Pacific, 200 marathons later. The finish, but certainly not the end. Anyone can be a super hero."

Thank you for sharing!

That one was loved by many; polled "best". Most Budweiser ads are; Clydesdales or no. OH! And the one of the vet homecoming ... filmed a real one, you know. The couple were in the stands Sunday evening.

http://www.news10.net/story/news/local/commun...

While I did not see all of the SB commercials, I saw most. Several were "leaked" to media sources prior to game day, so I saw some parts of those missed on Sunday evening.

What a great link...t/y...I watched 'Puppy Love', the Budweiser advert spoken of earlier,
also the 'home coming' which DW mentions above, enjoyed those greatly, also
watched the Dorito ad which I enjoyed too. What fantastic commercials over the pond!
