With utmost respect to an aquatics guy, and having familiarity with small dredges, plankton nets, man-hauling a small trawl, running gill nets, electrofishing, and processing the contents for all that gear; plus seining for crawdads as bank structure preservation:
I get a "tickle" reading about fish, or fry ... and "breading".:)
I love fried fish

Morning ER and all here - do me a favour and keep your fingers crossed at 1545 UK time today. I have another MRI scan, having had one just before Xmas. A little worrying as it suggests that something was thrown up by the previous one, so a little nervous over this one. Get the results on 16 Jan at the medical review, all being well.
Hello Tony, I will be saying a prayer for good results and healing. Hope otherwise that all is well with you.

Hi Denny ... you know me, hit and run, lol ... I love Lady El and think the world of her as I said in a post last night somewhere, I hold her in high esteem is what I think I said ... Jeez, I've slept since then ... I don't talk politics and/or religion ... I agree to disagree with one main poster on very many subjects and am extremely disappointed with 3 regular posters here that I'd rather just "hit and run" ... Some things are better left unsaid ... it would further just cause controversy and this is NOT the forum to do that ... While I do forgive, I never forget" even with my ever failing memory ... It's just better for all concerned ... I

Prayers for Tony ... Hello to Franko who I've always thought was a sweetheart ... IDK what became of Quinny ... Pffft ---> Happy New Year and thanks for your candor in a most assertive manner, I like that ... I've forgotten some of the other names but, like I said, failing memory ... MH, I love you and thanks for being my friend for all these years, Jeannie, a friend also and I'll miss her dearly as she was a fighter and withstood a lot in her short life no matter what anyone says of her, May she Rest In Peace ... I could go on and on but I best just stop here as I've got to get going ...

2nd Thursday of the month ---> Lake Travis Late Lunch Bunch gathering and I've errands to run before the luncheon ...

Evening folks..

You know.. life is very strange.. when we come to think of it..

At present, life, as we know it is playing itself out
in polar opposites -

on the one hand, a relative thru' marriage [and friend] of the wider
family circle is in the later stages of cancer - being transferred
to a hospice tomorrow..bless her..

On the other hand my son/partner and I are happily
awaiting the arrival of a brand new child/grandchild...
only days left in both cases.

Strange - life and it's parallels!
which NONE of us have a say in.

I know you did > copy and post it
on the other thread, I saw it there -

and I feel honoured FLOWER CHILD
that you thought so much of it. APPRECIATED.

NOT looking for approval, but, I think sometimes it's
SO easy to judge .. without looking OR recognising the wider picture..

Once, when I lived in a rural area, there was a man,
he spent his days sitting on the local bridge
drinking from a bottle of cooking sherry,[because cooking sherry was cheap to acquire]
he was *never* sober...

falling around the town,
people pulling him by the coat tails out of traffic's way,
as he staggered across the roads ALWAYS under the influence..

He was generally thought of ... as a dam* bloody nuisance, a waster good-for-nothing.
but,

when he died, it was discovered his alcoholism was due to
the fact he had been severely sexually abused by
CHRISTIAN (?) BROTHERS whose care he was in
when he was a child!

His life pattern moved me more than I can express
and urged me to always seek the wider picture.

THANK YOU most sincerely, FC.

Scan was okay - they did re-assure me a little, but won't get results until 16th. Received a call this morning - I have yet another scan tomorrow - an enhanced CT one. I only hope they are just being very thorough, but it is a tad unnerving.
after all the medical shows I've watched ... i'd say better safe than sorry, right? SO, let's hope they're being thorough.....

Yeh, I'd say just being very thorough, they are
all like that,
I feel you'll come through alright,
thanks for allowing us share your journey,
it has been MORE valuable than you know..
While we're here, on a different matter,
would like your opinion of 'Schumacher'-
Personally, I don't like the sound of it,
we had a similar case here of a friend
musician [years back] who fell [down steps]
he was 'bad' when he went into ICU, then became stable,
we were all delighted, later that changed and he was on life support..
for a month until he passed.
Anyway.
Good Luck with that Tony.
I would like to offer another side to that story ....

I ran into a fellow about 12 years ago, who it turns out I knew back in high school.

We got talking about my wife's accident and brain injury, and then he told me his story ...

He fell down the stairs to his basement, ended up in the hospital with a brain injury. He was near comatose for 2 months, and in the hospital for nearly a year, and even after they released him to go home he could not speak, and he needed to be fed. He barely improved for another 2 years ... then one day he got up, walked around, could speak again, etc etc... by the time I met him was about 10 years after his accident and I had no idea at first that he was ever so badly injured .. he was playing some pretty good volleyball ....

SO, it could turn out like that too .... the brain can heal itself, but it is so unpredictable.

No, listen, I hold no grudges against Brigitte, I simply thought what she said was out

I'll miss her MH..in spite of voicing my feelings elsewhere. I remember her absolute
joy at her son's graduation, and again at her daughter's wedding, sent such lovely
photos, then again at the birth of her grandaughter. Her pleasures were the
simple things in life.....as it should be.
