In the lane ... and the yard ... snow is glistening.
The Full Cold Moon (or the Full Long Nights Moon) is reflecting brightly off the snow.
A beautiful sight, we're happy tonight.
Posting in a winter wonderland.
Nope, I'm staying inside. It's crisp out there.
Adieu and golden slumbers ... each and every one.
DW,

You often speak of GOLDEN SLUMBERS,
And it always evokes the memory
of
a lullaby by that name from when
I was very young>

Smiles await you when you rise

Sleep pretty darling, do not cry

And I will sing a lullaby":)

As well you might Grace.
But, here's the thing.
After my brief sojurn as 'spelling police'....lol....I reverted
to being who I am, which is,'to each his own'.....
It isn't how you and I were raised, or what we would do ourselves,
and if it were up to me these birds would not be bred for this
purpose, but, rather someone who is an expert in that field
rather than some amateur who would perhaps only cause injury,
that is why I was sorry it was a wasted journey for Denny in that respect.
I can't in all honesty, condemn anybody for their life style simply because
it isn't my own.
Although......I make no pretence, if I were starving, if I knew anybody who
was starving, I would kill to provide food.
I think most of modern civilized people would not be able to pull a trigger in sport. Many might not be able to do it out of necesity.

Sir Tally.....the mind boggles...but why Chicago?
See you in a bitty....as they say in the Midlands
My guess would, that if we allowed 70 million Buffolo to roam the prairies as they once did, there would be no CHicago .... or any other major city.

the female gives birth to one calf after about nine months. assume have were female that would add about 30 million a year ...
yep on your tip toes
natuer does it's own population control ... I woudl guess that the 70 million was probably as many as there would ever be ...

I hope you enjoy these links. Bison "built" the first road in southern Indiana, to be used by native Americans and explorers and early settlers of "the frontier" as it would be to much of early colonial America.

I do, I find them very enlightening, it baffles me completely when folk
say the United States has no history as such.

I am watching PBS more often and find they cover much of what is mentioned
in these links.

Great pity the 'Trace' is disappearing from sight........

I think you have a good point there Franko....

I never dreamt that Buffalo were so predominant in the prairies, such a beautiful
beast.

LOL! Ridiculous as it sounds, I knew of a branch of my ancestors emigrated
to Indiana in the 19th century, in my mind's eye I imagined the State to be as
it is in modern times, obviously not.

SOme might say the mission of the Muslim terroririst is to bring the none-muslim population down so that Islam becomes the one and only world religoin ...

Ironically, Mohammed's intention on bringing Islam to the world was to eliminate the warring and dueling between tribes .. if they all believed the same religoin they would no longer be enemies, at least based on religious beliefs.

I can identify with El here,
When unwell, I was in bed a lot last week and sleeping
a lot, then waking fully in the small hours!
Had to reset my body clock..

Well onwards with Christmas preps,
a few final gifts to get today.

Ali (my dog)
is on the Christmas gift list today:)

Happy day everyone..

in your googles .... list the natural enemies of the Bison

A] While often secure from predation due to their size and strength, in some areas, bison are regularly preyed upon by wolves

and since man feared the wolf .....wouldn't with some after thought : it seem fair to say if the Buff made 70 million it would keep on increasing

Hitler didn't start a war for the sake of acquiring new Jewish victims .....

the closest to eliminating a race was right here in North America .... why because our desire to expand and own everything.... aka Hitler

Just wonder why some have gone so picky recently
about an occasional
misspelling here and there, which is a very
human mistake when writing SO many words
and sentences-

we all know one another
here 'by now' surely..
and should be past that!

Truth to be told I have noticed
misspellings and words left out here.
but I don't comment.

If you are not Muslim then you are an Infidel.

However, on Sky News this morning, a number of young British Muslims were
interviewed (although identities hidden) wo had gone over to Syria to fight
against Assad's regime. One of the young men said that, because they are
Muslim, they are classed automatically as terrorists when that is not the case
as he said we have come to help the stricken, in other wods they regard themselves
as Freedom Fighters. Sadly it is a case of Muslim fighting Muslim.
