they do that when a dose takes a firm hold.

I even feel much better already,
thank you and thanks El for enquiring.

Nuff about me,..

would like your opinion on the slight controversy
about Obama, the selfie plus chatting up the blond lass,
while Michelle's body language spelled absolute disapproval, lol.

Myself, I thought it a little careless
at such a profound occasion, where
[whatever about other mortals] the President of the
United States should always have his wits firmly about him.

GOOD night everyone here.

it was a long ceremony that felt more like a celebration than a mourning especial to westerners and I don't think Nelson would have been offended and would be amused buy the controversy

He is probably smiling at your constant mis-spelling of his
name. Or not.

I mean, once is excusable, but to do so repeatedly......

WHY?

Our own PRIME MINISTER [Taoiseach] in Irish...was signing the book

put MANDELA or MADIBA he got the two mixed up
and thereby made an error - finding it necessary to cross it out
so he re wrote it..

the "social and pleasure clubs" were the backbone of a strong culture that took care of their own and still do, they are most visible on Fat Tuesday at daybreak on Tchoupitoulas st. in elaborate "Mardi Gras Indian" costumes, the tradition is attributed to homage being paid to Native Americans who helped escaped slaves. it also became a competition between social clubs in liue of the knife fight

http://www.neworleansonline.com/neworleans/mu...

one band that comes to mind is Dirty Dozen, of course Tuxedo as you see in the link

the term Krewe is reserved to private Carnival clubs that that put on the parades and balls during Carnival season and Mardi Gras day, all out of their own pockets, they even rent the street and pay for police security incurred from the festivities, bands are refereed to as bands, I am sure there are some exceptions

once someone moves to the Big Easy they become "local" quickly, Pais will attest to this

once a local leaves the Crescent City they are never home until they return, how beautiful to bring New Orleans home with him to his former home for his final rest, I know it was the only way to have people even coming close understand all the things he had told them

Good Morning LIM,

and thanks so much for this, I was totally oblivious to the history...a little wiser now.
Tuxedo could quite easily have been the band who accompanied the funeral to the
nearby town of Porthmadog fulfilling the deceased wishes to the end of his journey.
I like to think we made the band as much at home as we would have been in their
keeping...well, I certainly dancing along with them, lol. and I would do so again.
I won't rest until I find that doubloon!

You can check out of the Crescent City but you can never leave.........

Good Morning Everyone,

a blustery (and do I see snow) day....putting up the tree today,
a small'ish one in the window, after all, it's nearly Christmas.

Hope everyone is keeping warm and looking after themselves this
cold weather. Big freeze on the way apparently.
