Sad but hopeful thoughts.
It came with a vengeance but seems to be on the wane now,
nothing just here although close to home. Appreciate

That is an absolutely wonderful scene which you look out
upon...and do I see a deer on the right hand side of the
photo or is it my imagination?! Beaautiful and thanks so

Good afternoon/morning, Kitchen-eers.

It's well to think and hope that all here and those they hold dear are in comfort from the weather systems we've been dealing with.

Thanks El!:) Alas, there is no deer up in here (that photo). That break in the trees is the road (not much more than a lane really) heading to the top of the hill to 3 houses. The road bends left and down-slope also where 3 more homes are situated.

The trees to the left of the road are on property of a neighbor. My property ends somewhat before the point of trees you see on the right of the road.

A paraphrase does not necessitate quotes even though a paraphrase may be attributed. The key concept of the phrase is -- I quote -- "will live in infamy" was spoken by FDR with all due credit to his speechwriter.

You missed a valid critique for my misuse of "ordinance* in place of "ordnance".

I regret the error.

The main thing is that you're safe in comfort from the elements.

Tally i don't take sides mate I just read your post on infamy and a Carry On Film sprang to mind..Carry on Films are near enough a cult here over the pond and it was a line from one of the films Carry on Cleo.... No hurt intended.....

You know we all go through the nightmares none combatants won't if can't understand, and we can I expect rub people up the wrong way especially with the left thinking, I speak very little about the Falklands and a fix bayonet charge and doing the deed at nineteen has haunted me a very long time,I don't regret the situation because it was right but the blood on a nineteen year old has f@cked me up mate..

you have been misspelling all along , but the quote was specifically changed for that reason: a date ,than the original a day.... relax you can accept or not .....either way don't care .... won't change my day

all this was is info....

The speech's "infamy" line is often misquoted as "a day that will live in infamy". However, Roosevelt quite deliberately chose to emphasize the dateóDecember 7, 1941órather than the day of the attack, a Sunday, which he mentioned only in the last line when he said, "...Sunday, December 7th, 1941,...". He sought to emphasize the historic nature of the events at Pearl Harbor, implicitly urging the American people never to forget the attack and memorialize its date. Ironically, the misquoted term "day of infamy" has become widely used by the media to refer to any moment of supreme disgrace or evil.
