Good Morning Everyone,
The Gentle Giant came back this morning, by whom
I mean the stray cat I have been feeding for some months now, so it was action stations, and he was
whizzed over to the Vets to be 'done'.....and hopefully this will curb his instincts, in time, to roam.
Had to laugh. P took him for me while I 'phoned to say the cat was on his way. The nurse asked me 'is he accompanied?'....hahaha
He is described at the Vets as 'the Feral'...a more gentle cat I have yet to meet, he is a darling and there is a home here for him forever. Named him Morgan.
Not a lot to say other than that, it's a lovely day, sunny, has been a light snowfall overnight....
beautiful.
How very fortunate for Morgan that he came across your path. Wonderful to know a sweet kitty has found a sweet friend. I hope you enjoyed your trip! It's been a whirlwind here, a couple of days literally! When the tornadoes moved through our state, we saw no action except high winds. We had our lights flicker in and off a few times, but never lost power. It did, however, take out my rangetop stove!

I love these winter days, there is an added sparkle
about Christmas this year 'for me'..
a sparkle of anticipation ---

A new grandchild's arrival - expected in January!!!!
It's kinda like the real Santa is coming to me too
this year.. with a little parcel placed under the tree, tied up with a pink/blue ribbon and a note saying >
"not to be opened 'til January 2014.."
Congratulations on that, Grace! I share that sentiment with you! My darling grandson celebrated his first birthday last Saturday, and on the 11th of this month, my son and his lovely fiance will be gifting me with a brand new granddaughter. All three of my children will then be parents. These grandchildren are part of what's been keeping me busy as of late, and that's just fine with me!
I'm so happy for you.

Good Morning All
and thanks Franko and Sir Tally for your input
common sense should have prevailed, I know, but
there was not a trace of American accent..or for that matter, American phraseology. Still, it doesn't do to doubt!
I have heard of the Ranklin family Franko, enjoyed them as it so happens, good points.
I respectfully disagree with the gentlemen on this one. Though those in some parts still retain heavy motherland accents, those groups are still all together. My dad was first generation American and has no trace whatsoever of a French accent. Neither do the children of Mexicans born here. Kids talk like the kids they're around, and those Mexican children sound just like their classmates, indistinguishable. I say the young lady was bullshitting you, and I think you should trust your gut, you're a wise lady already.

Good afternoon fine folks. That huge arctic air mass is really ramping up forecasts across the middle of the country, by the hour; heavy snow, icing, plunging temperatures. Any time now I expect the B word to be used.(Blizzard). I'm kind of looking forward to being snowed in with hubby for a couple of days.
I hope y'all are prepared to enjoy it, too.

Good afternoon/evening Kitchen-eers!

Within the last two weeks, 2 of the Band of Brothers, Easy Company, memorialized by Spielberg and Hanks and by/from Stephen Ambrose's book, have passed on:

That kind of weather makes folks sick! How are things, Denny? Having lots of good venison meals, I'll bet. My daughter's FIL has gotten three deer, and some of those roasts have made it to my freezer. Any prep suggestions?

lol - actually no I don't dance.
at least not in front of others, im actually a shy person. lol

I find most people on topix don't want to hear about the "good things/life" of other people.
but I admit I talk about it anyway. LOL
that's why im not popular. LOL
its seems to be all about doom and gloom on topix
- oh and fighting with each other.
whatever... I really don't care, by now - u know me, I do my own thing, talk about what I actually know about and don't pretend to be something or someone im not.
but if ur really interested, theres a new thread I just posted on about where u've traveled to, so u can always check that out.
and thank u for asking,

I have a cruise ship story.
(Hi El)
When I was about 16 my mom took be on a once in a lifetime vacation to Acapulco on a ship out of San Diego.
There weren't many young people on it. I had a girl (14 year old "jail bait") follow me around the whole trip. She said she was Candice Bergen's niece. That's as close as I ever got to meeting a movie star. lol I think I drank too much and danced with her.

Good Morning {{{Cuz Luke}}}

and thank you for bringing this to our attention
and thus giving the opportunity to learn of the
backgrounds of these remarkable and very courageous
men.
What an unselfish attitude held by Edward Heffron
who was concerned about dying so near to Christmas
in case it should spoil the occasion for his family.

God Bless them both, and their families, and may they
truly R.I.P. all thoughts of battles behind them.

Thanks Paise...my feeling entirely, that woman had a more pronounced 'brogue' than anyone I ever heard and I have been
to Dublin. lol She shot herself in the foot as far as I was
concerned as when we were parting, she proclaimed 'I am an
American citizen and proud of it'...in other words, her over
emphasis of denial gave her away.
My own grandmother was first generation English, but she spoke
in the accent of the area in which she was brought up...
Nah, it was just a load of moody.

Hope the worst of those high winds are over by now Paise, you
have been lucky by the sound, although your stove was not so
lucky. Streuth! Not the best of weather here this morning,
although expecting snow tomorrow...:)
Morgan is now firmly established here, he and I are 'like that'
he is perfect, currently he is sitting on a chair in the 'Chalet'
having been in his bed in the kitchen overnight, the door of the chalet is slightly open and he has access to the birds who are
feeding on the table and on the ground. He leaves them be. Now
that is a perfect cat as I love the birds.
Taking him for his innocs and micro-chip next Thursday, he is good as gold travelling.

course we are PFfff...I keep on telling myself that, lol.

but you are quite right in what you say about feeing being
heightened this time of the year. It's true enough.

Something John Lennon said in an interview just after
the Beatles manager, Brian Epstein died. He was asked
if the Maharaji had given them any advice to which he replied,
'yes, he told us to only remember the good times, as unhappy
memories will reach those we have passed'.

I am trying to follow that advice........
