Such a funny incident on Sky News this morning.
An old lady made a booking by 'phone to Granada
Spain, it had bee her heart's desire to go all hr
life. However, the operator mishard an thouht she
requested aseat on a plane to Greneda and booked
her on a flight to Grenada in the Caribbean.
Whilst on the plane she got into conversation with
another lady and mentioned how she was looking forward
to seeing the Alhambra in Spain.'Not on this flight'
she was told....the air crew took over, put her in
1st Class, gave her Champagne and upon arrival, put her
on a flight back to London where she was redirected to Granada Spain.
A happy ending to the story then...and the icing on
the cake was when she returned home it was to learn that she had been cleared of the breast cancer for which she had been treated.
A good news story! I like that!

Yes, it was very beautiful and relaxing there,
whats amazing about the sea is, how it can be
so tranquil and on the other hand how dangerous..
in other circumstances.

So good to see you around,
is your hubby quite well again now..
after that fall he had?

Happy Halloween:)

Hello Grace. Yes about the sea, I've sat many times on the Gulf of Mexico coast knowing a hurricane was headed to our region, staring at a calm sea and not being able to imagine the violence with which it was to soon roar and overwhelm. I've also stared at a violent sea and not been able to picture it back in it's bounds and calm.
Hubby just spent most weekends kayaking with me, we paddled over 400 miles this last season. Getting too cold most days now. But that exercise was really good for his shoulder and arm, I can honestly say he's as good as new. Thank you for asking.
Happy Halloween to you, too.

It sure was Sir Tally.....the South of England was hit particulrly hard
some good news this morning is 100,000 homes have had their electricity
supply restored, 60,000 are still without power. Five died in this storm. British Rail are gettng some flack for stopping train services, but they erred on the side of caution and that is a good thing, considering there were trees across the lines.

TONY....hope you are not one affected by the power cuts an that you was able to keep to you hosp. appt yesterday the roads being as they are.
Was thinking of you being relieved of the PEG, hope it happened.

KRYPTEIA....was that a goal or was it not a goal? Roll on goal technology whatever it is called.

Nice day here, think I wlll sweep up some of those leaves.....

Good Morning Everyone and wishing you all a good day.

Very true Grace, one could go on and on making comparisons.
There are so many different forms of oppression.
Vee did indeed send me the link.....very tragically it is all
too common with the breed, but how very lucky was that little dog
to b found in the nick of time.
Similarly, there are so may different forms of animal cruelty,
one which appalls me is allowing an animal to produce over an over
until it is wornout. It is sheer ignorance or greed on the owners
part, and over the years I have managed to get many an animal out of this situation and rehomed. It's what I do.
WHAT WORTHY WORK YOU DO, EL,
I've said it over and over-
I know hearing that is not important to you -
you just want to get in there and right a wrong..
KUDOS:

YES INDEED, THAT STORM SURELY SHOWED IT'S TEETH!

believe it or not,
my folks braved the elements and sailed yesterday!
that included an 84 yr old male cousin!

The man among others, unfortunately killed, when a tree
fell on his car, was Irish, and very well spoken of
today on radio from the construction workplace
where he was employed, they said he had all the qualities
one could wish for in a human being,
what an accolade!

God be with all the victims of the storm.

That is tragic Grace and so sad. I love trees but fear them too. A woman and her baby were killed a few years back when a rotting tree that was weakened by a previous storm, fell on the mother and her child as they were walking through a park. Just a matter of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Who can understand such tragedies? A neighbor's tree next door to us was struck by lightening about 5 years ago. Luckily, no one was near the tree at the time. Nature can be so unpredictable, mysterious and yet beautiful.

The point of the Paleo diet is to buy food that has not been genetically altered and fed grains when animals of the past hardly ate those (grass fed is better) and no steroids and other things injected into the meat. The trouble is finding all that at your local store .. almost impossible, it requires WORK to track down food that is as it was 10,000 years ago. SO, not an easy diet to follow ...
This comes pretty close Franko.....

Actually Grace, I was speaking out of sheer frustration as it
goes on here yet the authorities are slow to act. If it
were dogs then they have some form of standing, cats do not
appear to have that protection. You are very kind as usual.

That man was so unlucky, stating the obvious, five seconds more
or less and he would not have been in that situation. Such
a sad loss and an amazing accolade as you say.
The young girl of 17 also, who was killed when a
tree fell on her mobile home. Not her normal home but where
she was sleeping while the main house was renovated.
Both sadly missed.

Well, we have been incredibly lucky and I am thankful for that.

Your kin are some hard-core sailors! Whoa I see a high sea and my instinct says 'stay back'! Some brave folks there, but I'm sure if you can enjoy the extreme it's probably worth it.
Sad for those who passed, yet also keeping in mind it could've been much worse.
We have a monster cottonwood tree at the edge of our neighbor's property, overhanging most of that side of the property and even a little of the house. Our neighbor doesn't much care about it, but we feel it's quite a threat. To get in and out of our area all the folks on the lane have to pass under it. We tried getting an estimate a couple of years ago to just get it down ourselves; $7500 just to get it on the ground with us cutting it up and hauling it away. No wonder our neighbor feels it isn't a threat. It doesn't make good firewood at all, as it is a heavy and dense softwood. I often say a prayer of protection on account of that tree, for all of us.
