'Morning to you Grace...
and thanks so much for your kind support. That applies to
all friends here.
It has been a combination of events led me to walk away....
but whether in friendship or companionship, call it what you will,
we have all forged a bond here, and I am happy with that.
So, coffee is on, tea brewing (Earl Grey) and on with the day.
EL .. I concur with the others, anyone who knows you knows that you would never be the type to troll.

some of us have faced some of the worst crap you could imagine on this forum ... the key is to simply get whatever enjoyment you came fro in this forum before the BS started, and just put the BS'ers on "ignore" ...

Hey Grace .. yeah, no kidding, I rarely post in the daytime anymore so all my freinds across the pond are sawing logs while I am around ....

I have not put as much effort into the business as I can ... perhaps it is that I still have my regular job to fall back on? PLus so many things i life lately seem to be getting in the way ...

<quoted text>This is a very general estimate, but from everything I have read, most predominantly muslim nations have the same attitudes towards women as this young lady in Pakistan experienced. There was recently an article about Saudi Arabian women trying to gain the right to drive a freaking car !!!!(Right now most muslim women aren't allowed to drive a car even for emergency purposes ...!!!)
ALso, many non-muslim African nations still try to keep their women under mens's thumbs,as does India (remember the case last year of the young girl raped in a bus, eventually she died from her injuries ... most such cases are never tried and this only went to court because she died)....
If anything, 1 billion is a low guess.
very general, yeah

here was your quote
"Billion women facing similar opposition as she is."

no way
billions of people facing all kinds of oppression, but similar to hers, not even close

“Cool huh?”

Thanks Franko.

It was't so much the slur, God knows I have had worst than that
to contend with during my lifetime....it was the source which
I found upsetting at that particular time. It was the least
of my worries that particular week...like a said a combination
of events.

Personally...I would rather be 'up front' and ask outright.

That aside, great to see you again...:)

Franko....can we really compare oppression of women by enforcing
the Burka etc., to gang rape on a bus in India?
The former is a form of protection, however misguided, the latter
sheer abuse.
Speaking of oppression....there was none worse than in England when
Catholicism was kicked out of the doo in favour of Protest...ants.
All on a King's whim.

It's when I peak, lol!

I just go downhill from then on.

Am off to brave the elements this afteroon, not
the nicest of days here, has ained non-stop all
day. Yesterday was beautiful, seems to be
raining alternate days.

Had some interesting documentaries on ITV this past two
evenings, first a tribute to our Cilla (Cilla Black)
hosted by Paul O'Grady, last night a doc about Mohammed
Ali on his numerous visits to GB. Most interesting in
their own way.

And good afternoon where appropriate. Reverse the weather for middle earth Indiana -- today beautiful autumn day; yesterday not so much.

Safe jaunt and back.

Pretty slack round here
no pun intended :)

Morning all..

Here's a legal poser for you folks,
should they be arrested or not..

watch it through, it gets aggressive towards the end.

Tally will be interested in this..

I think - harmless enough but,
they waste valuable police time
