glad to hear it was just the one.(Has Boardwalk started yet)?
GRACE....you asked the Welsh (Cymraeg) for mobile phone. Interesting question as Cymraeg is as I understand it to be, the oldest European language

Given up on the 'X-Factor' I'm afraid and also Downton.
Quit both while ahead!

Don't blame you about XFACTOR:)
I can see why

Yep.....moved on!...lol...really enjoyed the last
series..dunno why I decided not to pursue it this
time, just didn't fancy it any more. It is
extremely well done but enough was enough.
Truth be known, I dislike anything portraying
the differences in class...hate the wole concept
of the Honours List and all that. Nobel Peace prize
excepted. The rest are ten a penny these days.

I am finding that Downton has lost its edge with this series and is the worse for the departure of Dan Stevens (Matthew). I feel that Julian Fellowes is running out of ideas and now recycling old ones - which is never good for the survival of a series. I had huge admiration for John Cleese and Connie Booth with Fawlty Towers - two series , each of 6 programmes, and then called it a day and stuck to that, despite financial inducements.

I had some of that PFfff...was in the South of France and asking for Sugar Puffs at the local grocers, the girl id a lot of shrugging and ne comprendezs....thankfully the elderly gent, poss her father, produced a box of SP, something to do with regional accents.
I think you views on Spanish being spoken there very fair-minded,
and I could'nt agree more about English being e first language tho'. That was the big problem here, in reverse, forced to peak English, it's only now that their own has been revived. And guess who came here with some SOUTH Walian under her hat!...(:
Pob lwc with the garage sale....:)

They never quite 'bounce back' I find, when a main character leaves,
and I agree, recycling old ideas just does not work. Also the failing,
for myself anyway, of Dallas. Good point about Fawlty Towers Tony.

I see El,
It was just a surprise you had praised it so
highly but then we can all change about these things,

of course most people aren't into 'class' especially
in today's age, when anyone can turn up at a function
in a pair of frayed jeans with holes in the knees,LOL

So, it is
quite the opposite, for me, it is exactly that which attracts me to programmes like
DONTOWN 'UPSTAIRS'/'DOWNSTAIRS' etc, I find it very
very interesting getting the full picture up close of how life was back then
and being able to compare and contrast with our own age.

anyway, as always, each to one's own.

LOVE/HATE
started here Sunday night, brilliant, as ever,
but in one of the scenes a cat was machine gunned by
a teenager who got hold of a heavy duty weapon

[the animal wasn't harmed,'twas done by special effects]

but there was an outcry yesterday and I can see why,
it might give uncaring folks ideas that this was fun!

Anyway life goes om,

still very mild here but colder weather on the way.

plates etc......lol....sit yourself down and join in with we
commoners...lol....

I often think about Franko....and Quincy..also the dear

Grace...I cannot seak too highly of the first series...enjoyed it
immensly...no change of heart or mind there.
You are so right about the fact that people's standards have dropped
these days....in fact I recall visiting the London Palladium...and was horified to see people sitting on the Stage Door steps, eating a bag of chips..and their dress sense was terrible...shorts...tee shirts...frankly I blame the venue for allowing them in in such a state of undress. But that's just me.
I remember flying in the late 60's and I was the only female on the
'plane who was not wearing a fur...years on, travellers boarded wearing clothing I wouldn't wear to go to the shops....
The days before one didn't have to tolerate some dear child kicking
through the back of one's seat.
Having said all that, I consder myelf working class with upper class standards, lol.

To share with you....

I have been reunited with several members of my family.

It's been a long time in coming.

In the case of two members, illness has been the reason why.

This morning my beautiful eldest Grandson 'phoned me completely unaware of the previously mentioned illness,
that was concerning another branch of the family altogether. He, along with my middle Grandson, are planning on coming to Wales to see me...

Thought I would share....
