I might add they are pretty good workers too.
give them time though. they will become Americanized.
lol
Yes, they are and have been for years. And I minimized their contributions and range, at least for crop-picking. They've been helping from the southern states up through the upper Mid-West "forever".

Details man. There is the main one and the ones run by the state exchanges in those states which didn't pass the buck to Fed. Health and Human Services. All were overwhelmed by the response initially so I've seen. I have not seen any item about "free" anywhere.
But the densest fog is the bit about pre-exising conditions. While there was a under-funded temporary/transition program to cover before Jan. 1, 2014, this sign-up is effective 01/01/2014.
http://www.bakersfieldnow.com/news/investigat...
One of the biggest reforms as part of the Affordable Care Act, insurance companies will no longer be allowed to deny people coverage if they have pre-existing conditions. However, that portion of the law, like the day that health care actually becomes available, doesn't begin until the calendar turns to 2014.
"Starting Jan. 1, insurance companies must take everyone, guaranteed," said James Scullary, spokesperson for Covered California. "On that date, people can longer be denied because of pre-existing conditions."
"Unfortunately, that rule is not in place right now, and that is one of the beauties of the Affordable Care Act," he added.
Childress, whose husband's work insurance will end at the end of November, is worried about her husband having to go one month without coverage or medication.
"It's aggravating, because I know there are lot of people that need it and can't get it. It really upsets me," she said.
BTW, the Jan. 1, 2014 beginning was no big secret. Those who didn't care to find out, or 'spun' things a different way (claims of lying? for example) to mesh with THEIR agenda and confuse people ... what can ya do?!
Discussed previously on here:

Japanese/American gardener was a joke ...

joke was I always wanted to go to Japan and become the 1st American gardener.....

there are a lot of factors in overseas jobbing out

most of it is the greed of the American worker and the unions .. and his/her lack of production

making a car a week [example only] but can you sell a car a week ..no... can you make it 100% correct yes , but does the American worker

however there is a big trend of manufacturing coming back here ,,,, cheaper now , WHY robotics

Expanding on overseas jobs
a very simple thing .... I give you a 1/2 hour lunch why do you take 45 minutes..
so out of the 8 hours I pay you just took .25 off ... one doesn't sound like much , but I employ say 1,000
.25 off is that extra 15 minutes you granted yourself for lunch
only goverment workers could get away with that

only goverment workers could do that and keep their jobs

Loved the video...not normally in favour of
performing aimals but that dog is just amazing.
Great choice and T/Y.

As you say Priness, we all do, it is when we don't recognise them
as mistakes we are in trouble! T/Y for sharing about your beloved daughter, such miracles as that only increases our faith. There is a great deal to be said about the power of prayer, I think so too.
Today has been a good day for me, hope yours has too...:)
Have a great evening..<3

AUTUMN -

"Autumn came at the end of the summer
And rustled through all the trees
saying to itself .. in whispering tones

'I know just what to do with these'

Autumn took out a box of colours
and now, that the leaves were old,
coloured each to perfection in
In strong shades of Red and Gold.

Wild winds swept down from the mountains
Dancing in merry delight
forming leaves in a circle
Driving them into flight.

A great harvest moon .. shining
bright as the disc of the sun
casting a pearly moonlight
down upon everyone.

Autumn fruits in abundance
In tiny shop-window streets
Piled high in all shapes and all colours -

truly, a visual treat.

Smiley faced pumpkins peeking -

doing their best to hide

Waiting to light up in splendour
On the blessed 'All Hallows' night.

Ancient souls wandering the earth
Looking for a prayer -

hoping SOMEONE was listening -
wishing that SOMEONE might care.

The beautiful season is dying
It's hours numbered one by one

HALLOWEEN>>>

when the clock STRIKES Midnight ...
Autumn will have gone:"

I remember when in the USA my future sister-in-law admiring
my shoes which I brought from England and falling about laughing when she saw 'Made In China'on the insole, saying just like here. And that was a while ago. Whatever happened to our own industries?

IF I could motivate to make a deep search into my storage, and IF I could find it ....

I could post a poem about a pinball machine (and the girlfriend who inspired the verses)!

The game was called "Satin Doll"; and I believe that was the title of the poem.

When five years later after moving to China Mr Coopersmith investigated the difference between the total cost of production in China and America, including the cost of shipping, customs duties and other fees, just as cheap here

Watch out China and Canada,“Made in America” has an attractive ring to it these days.

Four years after the height of the financial crisis, marked by a drastic drop in salaries, the United States is again finding favor among manufacturers.

Out on the campaign trail ahead of the November 6 elections, President Barack Obama has picked up on the point to convince voters that the US economy is back on track.

“After years of undercutting the competition, now it’s getting more expensive to do business in places like China,” he said in May, adding that both wages and shipping costs were up in the single-party state known for attracting foreign firms that often subsequently cut jobs back home.

“American workers are getting more and more efficient. Companies located here are becoming more and more competitive. So for a lot of businesses, it’s now starting to make sense to bring jobs back home.”
