Hello There Denny and Good Morning.
The funny thing, it's coming up tea time over here, as you
will know, but a light brek coming up just for you.
Cannot believe your temperatures, it's just not right!...:)
El has a new season of Dowton Abbey started there? We watch the last season this weekend and are anxious for the new season to be shown here. We buy the DVDs. Watching is just like a trip to the UK for me

Had alovely break, funny thedifference in people you meet. Met a bloke one morning, within ten minutes he had told me his entire life story. I
mean really, how egotistical is that.
Then a short time later, met another man, a family man, and his conversation was mostly about his soon-to-be three years old daughter who had recovered from meningitus.(sp) I know who I enjoyed listening to more!
GRACE....did you watch the X-Factor by any chance?
YES,
I know what you men El,
people dying to share.
Watched X Factor..

Apologies for this 'half' post, to continue..

Tho' it's a good show that holds
The interest, and I intend following it..
I feel a little more cynical now about X Factor..
and I really dislike how, when some unfortunate
contestant, is of relative poor voice,
the panel laugh into that person's face..
That is SO rude, considering they are there as judges
and, like people on an interview board,
they ought to have some standards.
That goes on every year, dono' why they aren't
pulled to order about it yet
What do you think, El?

then I shopped till I dropped in all the most exclusive shops I could find,
then I ate in all the finest places that served only the Very best "sweets and chocolates"
and then..........
I woke up.

lol
;)

actually.. jury duty - lol

Not as yet Den, starting soon. Interesting history behind the actual house where it is filmed, in that Lord Caernarvon's rellies sponsored the search for Egyptian tombs, and found Tuten Kharmon's
tomb. P's ancestors actually.
So sorry you will not be returning to the UK this year, hopefully soon.

I haven't had the chance to watch it yet Grace, but I am in
agreement with what you say, it is very unprofessional of the
judges and could destroy a contestant within minutes.
Then again, you would think the contestants would ensure
the had someting to offer before dispalying their lack of talent and as good as asking to be laughed at. So cannot completely blame the judges!
Two sides!

Thanks El for your reply,

I pre record these things-and so can watch them
anytime, only last night I watched Sunday's programme..
As I was at the cinema with my son..
I saw "The Conjuring" umm..
Didn't live up to all the hype..

Too full on for me,
But that's another story.
Back to X FACTOR.

I agree 100%(and often said the same as you said..
to friends here)??

That surely someone would advise folks
to stay away if the voice wasn't up to it.

BUT.

I disagree with you that one cannot
completely blame the judges..

I think one CAN.. in the role they have taken on,
They should know FAR BETTER than to laugh
At ANY contestant,
What did we all teach our children from a VERY early age,
we're they to point out an eccentric or a mentally unwell person in the street.
We taught them 'respect'

These judges who swan about in fine clothes, to impress-
sometimes, it would seem,
Lack the very basics..IMO.

(Gary Barlow seems honest and fair enough)

You are so right Grace.....casting my mind back to bringing
up our children to respect those mentally impaired...physically
disabled...and putting it down to other's ignorance should they
not abide by that.
In which case, not only unprofessional, but ignorant also.
And a bad example to others.
I had not seen it first hand but can well imagine, and I am
very glad to hear Gary Barlow is above that kind of 'behaviour'.
Thanks Grace.

Just heard on the radio only 105 days to Christmas, how
mad is that!
