Good Morning Krypt....hope your aunt had a peaceful night. It
has to be worrying when strangers descend in the neighbourhood
it's the fear of the unknown. Travellors camped some time ago
close by, up in the hills, residents were in an uproar, lotsof farms around here so he farmers were worried about their sheep an claim were made that the Travellors had stolen lambs....any crime
at al was put down to th Travellors.
Eventually one of them put a letter in the local rag, inviting anybody who cared to, to go up and meet with them, they would learn that they were just ordinary people looking to settle somewhere, wanting to send their children to school, etc.
They were better educated than half the folk who were complaining of their presence in their vicinity! lol
They were moved on regardless.
Could be these who are near to your aunt have no bad inentions, time will tell. Sincerely hope they are perhaps looking for work..
But I have to say Krypteia that your Aunt is fortunate to have such a caring wonderful nephew...and I mean that.xx
Thank you El,unfortunately this lot were moved on from a town two miles away and the filth they left behind was disgusting and it's the local people's hard earned money In council tax clears up after these loafers that don't contribute a single penny, they pax no tax as no fixed address so it's us that pay for their lifestyle and they demand rights to upset everyone....There was supposed to be a football match in that park last night that people pay for these parks but hey not that they care all one big freebie and destruction ,the field is churned up so god knows how much that is going to cost..

I met a young man at the Vets yesterday..he had taken hisStaffie in for a check.
He had a stud in his lip and one in his eyebrow and appeared and appeared a tad agressive.(The combination of his appearance and his choice of dog)
I later learnt that he had had a bad accident, and for a long time had 'gone into himself' until he was given this dog by his Mother, it changed him completely. He now is out ad about again instead of locking himself behind four walls, and also has an allotment where he grows vegetables.

So easy to judge on first impressions.

In that case it's just not on Krypteia...what's the answer would
you say? There should be a designated place where people in this situation can both live in peace, and have sanitary conditions,
and locals do not have to fear them.
In all fairness I have heard of how some of these itinerates
behave and it appears you have the worst kind on you Aunt's doorstep. They should have their benefits docked to pay for any damage thy cause..I don't know what councils are thinking of half the time.

Aside from the teens (and now tweens!), Jackie Kennedy inspired quite a few women to wear those pill-box hats, those coat-dresses. I'm sure Queen Victoria was modeled in some levels of society.

What I don't understand El is they manage get benefits where ever they turn up on tap,but totally agree with you that the benefits should be stopped for damage and so on...What infuriates me is they can break the padlock and chain to enter parks etc and no arrests for trespass or damage but if I was to do it I'd get my collar felt...A designated place is a good idea but the problem I have is it's our taxes paying for it,because if you ask them to contribute they'd laugh in your face..
My brother comes back off holiday tomorrow,he's had two weeks in the Emerald Isle his house isn't to far away either and he's not as understanding as me,lol,,
On a better note good win for the mighty Spurs...xx

"I always assumed the best nudes were El & Grace" May they be, but we've all missed that.

"And why is the kitchen on the verge of collapse????" It's not, by a long shot.

Good Morning Grace, nice morning or maen brave here.
It was a nice photo wasn't it, I liked it very much.
Some were saying they should be able to see more of
George...what DO they want for Heave' sake.
I didn't notice the dress, but I will say all credit to
Kate for choosing to wear 'off the peg' dresses in these
days of recession..affordable for those not so well off,
and those very ones pick up on that, maybe regarding her
as a 'yardstick'...and to be honest I think they could do
worse than choose Kate to base their ideas upon.
One reason I admired Michelle Obama....her choice of simple
yet very attractive economy concious dresses.
These two figureheads coul quite easily afford to 'go to
town' and wear designer outfits....so they are setting
a good example.
btw...the link was adorable...:) T/Y
I thought the photo was great. Nevermind the critique by the "professionals" about the sun, not so sharp focus, etc.

It was 'everyman'; the quintessential family at the root of it all. It was snapped with a "point and shoot" by a proud gramps, for chrissakes. If there's a law ... guilty as charged!!

:)

Great representation of Princess Diana's influence too.

STREUTH! Good Friday Morning my Deer CUZ LUKE...
Never woulda believed! That happened in the dark ages in
England when signs were put up on the doors boarding houses
to the effect 'No Dogs, No Irish'...but we are talking 19th century. Just in time for some of my dear ancestors making
their way across the Irish Sea to a 'better life' in Manchester.
I learnt that during the course of my genealogy research.
Discrimination at it's worst. Can't be doing with it.
:) "STREUETH" -- when I read you starting a post with thus, I'm fondly reminded of my past Yahoo! message board posting experience.

Once upon time in a couple of those threads I posted in, a contingent of 5 or 6 posters from "somewhere else" in the vast Yahoo! posting environment added themselves to the mix of the 'regulars'.

One was purportedly a gal from Liverpool-ish married to a footballer bloke. He played for a Chilean club. They lived in Santiago where she taught, possibly at college level. Others of that bunch proclaimed that much was true, by public and private communications.

She was a T.S. Eliot fanatic. And would write some of the most outrageous posts.

She often started a post: "STRUTH"

Good times.

Aye, good one!

That brings up another aspect to this 'modeling' of notables -- commercialism. For instance, while Jackie K. wore a pink one, and maybe had some other ones, I doubt that SHE had leopard-skin pill box hats.

But the 'wants' for those variations would exist for the 'non-conformist' tending to the exhibitionist of individuality; and there would be merchants to create or fulfill that need as with the more muted market.
