pssst, I am sure you will be back sooner than you think
Since you have spent considerable time trying to sow discord in thi8s thread, do you really think you are an appropriate person to put yourself forward as guardian of such a thread? I think not.

I would like to say thanks Denny for being such a supportive
friend of the Kitchen....I am ashamed not to hve visited your
thread as much as I would have liked...also Flower's thread.
Quincy has offered much here as has Sir Tally...Deer Whisperer
WildBlueRose, Franko and of course Grace, Vee too.
DUH, CC...Paise and recently Falcon ...I am going to miss you all,
and especially Tony...that drnk is still on offer Tony, we'll
be waiting when you are up and running again.
I hope the Kitchen carries on in the good hands of those who
have been looking after it recently...
As the great (but now somewhat aging) Sean Connery once said about never playing Bond again - "Never say, Never again". Trust you won't take too long a break from here - we would miss your positive input - how could El's Kitchen be that without El?

That would be my preference if possible. Want a paid vacation a little south?

Hits the nail on the head. Maybe everyone needs a break from time to time.

Hope you're feeling better Tony. Have you skippered the yacht again? Been thinking you might appreciate the Tall Ships that come to Chicago every year.

Quite a sight to see.

You should get an all Topix pass or get out of jail free card for possible being the first registered poster on Topix? lol

A while back I went on search of the first post ever made on Topix, digging down at the end of each of the main forums and I went pages back......

And you came along RIGHT afterwards, so you either have to be possibly the first as no one was registering in the beginning or a mod? lol

Anyway I thought it was interesting?

How's your hubby doing these days Paisley?

I'd say its all good El and I'm sure the Kitchen patrons agree.
Funny you mentioned Wales not being on the school curriculum. In school I always wondered why some of the more current history like WWII and Viet Nam weren't covered.
Censorship!
I really love history and it is just too important to not be taught.

A few things,
The KINDLE most certainly has it's uses,
A relation, presently on dialysis says it's a GOD send,
As he must remain still for hours.

***

About half hr ago,
I went into a store coming back from having ducked Ali the dog in the nearest river,
'Twas very hot and I mean VERY.

I was in a queue with everyone else, when suddenly everything
began circling round, my first instinct was to hold fast to
The rail and 'collect' myself..
I felt I was going to faint, there and then..

I pulled myself together lol..

Just wonder can real heat do that?

I intend taking it easy this aftnoon.. Relax a bit.

Regarding El,
Yes indeed, everyone needs a break now & then,
and she has a lot on, caring for all the animals
In the background, what an on going,
Caring mission El is on.

I 'suggest' if possible El comes back here WHEN EVER
She can, we all understand..

We have kinda, developed a little 'family' circle here after all
The years, we know personal things like

Tony's present rough patch which he is slowly
Conquering..

Tally's recent surgery..

My 'dickie' heart(:

Franko's busy life

Eve's working all hours.

El's commitments etc..

And we can 'go' with that as families do in the real world.
I agree, El's Kitchen would not be the same without
El at the helm, that's how it is..

The very same as the great Stan Laurel
would never have been the same minus the equally great Oliver Hardy.

True too,
But it's.... a different type of heat also..

All I know is I felt I was going to 'fade away'
AND I just don't want to miss the French holiday ...lol!

Better go off & do a quick FIRST AID jobbie on myself lol!

All of that is very interesting,
'A big Thanks ' for bringing up
some of Offbeat's earlier history.

I was around same time as Vee..
as we're El and FRANKO.

Think that El was part of 'The Mod Squad 'too.

Mightn't be a bad idea to perhaps do
a thread -asking after the welfare
of those mentioned on the threads you
publicised ..
