I'm spending 7 hours in hospital today for blood transfusions, so have had to arrange for my US visitors to meet me in a pub afterwards - what a bummer!!
Is that some sort of new Cancer Treatment plan? Does insurance cover the Pub charges? What's the deductible for that sort of thing?
You got it, all part of the Cancer treatment. Kind of you
to take an interest. Wouldn't that be something if insurance
did cover Public House charges....only in Cloud Cuckoo Land honey.

That would be part of my point. Might does not make right in my book. We have seen examples throughout history where it all went bad.
We certainly have.

<quoted text>El please excuse us when we refer to England to include Wales Ireland and Scotland. We seldom use the correct term of United Kingdom :) No slight is intended
Thanks Denny.

Thing is, the other countries have their own military regiments,
you would be amongst the first to appreciate that, so when the
Royal Welch Fusiliers for instance, or the Scots Guards, go off
to Afghanistan, they go with pride in their own country, they
have their own language, now revived, they are not English, they
are British.

You being a Texan, would surely appreciate that aspect.

Sore and bruised but thankfully I'm walking OK.

I missed what you did yourself. Did you fall again?

Now that you explain it that way I understand.Texas is the 9th largest oil producing nation in the world. You never ask a person if they are from Texas. If they are they will tell you and if they aren't there is no point in embarrassing them :)

When someone has to make him/herself look better at the expense of others as I've witnessed him do firsthand, your assessment is certainly "right on the money".

On a human compassionate level I hope those who have serious health issues may fare well and see progress. That does give anyone carte blanche to act like a jerk.

Happy Independence Day, Colonists! Hope the celebrations are very festive and safe ones.

Thanks for your work regarding the U.S. trimmings and bunting for the occasion, dear Cuz El. and for the "Auld Sod" folk joining in.

:)

humming J.P. Sousa "Stars and Stripes Forever" -- it's such a lively tune!

To some degree, I would have agreed about men's tennis (kept a passing interest in Henman and now Murray), but this Wimbledon has changed my view. Having had to watch it with the treatment's effect (daytime UK TV is as bad as in the USA), am hooked on it again. Whilst serve/volley was spectacular, it did pall after a while. There is now more variety in the game as it used to be back in the 60s when I first remember watching.
Cheers Tony! oh, how could I have forgotten Bjorg? Well, that's a fact. Too much serve and volley; too much rocket-blast serves, and the faults from them, and errant returns, or the set-ups from weak returns tends to monotony. Variety of strategy and tactic is a good thing!
