I couldn't agree more. The politicians are a complete drain on society, everyone of them sadly.

El,
Glad you mentioned 'the great man's birthday today-
Happy Birthday, Paul:

This afternoon, Michelle Obama & children are
dining in Dalkey, with Bono and others;

well... at least I have something in common with
Bono, his wife's name is Ali, like my dog!

NO offense Bono(:

Dono' whether it's a little insensitive
[or not] to put this here,

but, when I viewed it, I found to
SO amazing and
was really struck speechless with how
two people with such a MASSIVE lifelong
impediment, have what it takes to cast it aside ..
and simply

SING AND DANCE!!!

bless them, it shows attitude is EVERYTHING.

This speaks *volumes*..

I for one am glad you did put it here Grace.
I enjoyed it immensly, it's catchy, made me
want to dance! Also made me 'step back' and
think on the struggle it must have taken to
achieve this, to have overcome so many obstacles.
All credit to them....
May they keep on singing and dancing and enjoying life,
and giving such pleasure to others.
Thanks Grace.

First of all, Belfast has some of the best hotels
in GB....and the Obamas are staying Dublin?
Secondly, why in Hell's name are we there? Kidding
ourselves we are still a great power. Having surrended most of rule making to Brussels...and cut our Armed Forces to an absolute minimum....
Thirdly...it's gets my goat that any visiting Head of State can presume to interfere with us...the U.K. When they get their own house in order, then
feel free....until then....
El Obama is like no president I have ever seen. He is in constant campaign and vacation mode. He fights against the results of the very programs his administration has done. He is never responsible for anything. The use of the IRS to attack his political opponents he says the first he new about it was from TV> It has gone on for 3 years and still going on. They trot out a lie that it was because of two low level people in Ohio but the trail leads right back to the white house. The head of the IRS went to the whit house over 150 times. The head of the IRS under Bush went to the white house once. People just don't connect Obama to what comes from his administration. He lied and changed the CIA report on Benghazi and told the lie for over two weeks then tries to kill the questions by saying it is under investigation and I can't say anything about an ongoing FBI investigation.

Hi Denny! I tried to find you earlier when I saw your name, but I couldn't decide where to catch you. I searched for the place I met you, with no success and there you were as well as your other place. When I noticed you here, I just had to come to say hello. Hope and pray all is well with you, your wife and family and all around circumstances in general.

I am so glad you felt like that about it,
El..

I, too think they are wonderful...

Apparently they have a perfect brain each..

[not shared] which they are proud of;
some complication at birth meant they couldn't be
separated.

Gee, I really feel I could NOT hack something like
that, but then, two things strike me.

(1) If I were born into such a situation,
not knowing any different, maybe I'd be
able to handle it better.

and

(2) what choice would I have!

It's a very very tough call tho'
and kudos to them.

Thanks El - appreciated.

Good Morning Cuz Luke..
Interesting link, thank you. If he can do some good then so be it,
personally I cannot understand foreign intervention, but if his
popularity and charisma drives a point home, then all to the good.
The President certainly has a busy schedule ahead, we wish him well and hope he has a safe journey.
G8 (G20 sometimes) meetings are not intervention; there is no dictating at these meetings of leaders of industrialized nations [while they might have impulses to gang up on Vlad. Putin!:)]. World leaders don't take kindly to be dictated to in these matters. It's a process of world diplomacy at the highest level. What's the alternative? Whether the U.K. should be a member of the European Union is an entirely different horse, independent of these meetings.

http://answers.ask.com/society/government_and...
The purpose of the G8, which eight powerful and progressive countries, is to create an informal forum (the G8 Summit) for their leaders to come together and tackle pressing world issues. Some of the G8 countries are the United States, Great Britain, Canada and Japan. For more information look here: http://www.cfr.org/publication/10647/

While I may be a git, I don't get
the snit about Michelle and the girls
over-nighting in Dublin a bit.
While the Pres. stays in Belfast.

Trinity College has the archives of Mrs. Obama's white ancestors (slavers likely) for her looking:

Chicago community organizer and Harvard Law School

Two years after graduating, Obama was hired in Chicago as director of the Developing Communities Project (DCP), a church-based community organization originally comprising eight Catholic parishes in Roseland, West Pullman, and Riverdale on Chicago's South Side. He worked there as a community organizer from June 1985 to May 1988.[32][33] He helped set up a job training program, a college preparatory tutoring program, and a tenants' rights organization in Altgeld Gardens.[34] Obama also worked as a consultant and instructor for the Gamaliel Foundation, a community organizing institute.[35] In mid-1988, he traveled for the first time in Europe for three weeks and then for five weeks in Kenya, where he met many of his paternal relatives for the first time.[36][37] He returned to Kenya in 1992 with his fiancée Michelle and his sister Auma.[36][38] He returned to Kenya in August 2006 for a visit to his father's birthplace, a village near Kisumu in rural western Kenya.[39]

In late 1988, Obama entered Harvard Law School. He was selected as an editor of the Harvard Law Review at the end of his first year,[40] and president of the journal in his second year.[34][41] During his summers, he returned to Chicago, where he worked as an associate at the law firms of Sidley Austin in 1989 and Hopkins & Sutter in 1990.[42] After graduating with a J.D. magna cum laude[43] from Harvard in 1991, he returned to Chicago.[40] Obama's election as the first black president of the Harvard Law Review gained national media attention

And your point is what? Socialism is not a dirty word and in addition members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints have plural marriages and I believe plural marriages exist in other cultures and countries.
There are worse things to be than a Socialist.
in the USA I get the feeling that socialism is the new COmmunism .... and just as dirty a word... but why?

TOo bad people don't understand the difference.

IN communism you cannot vote for who is in office, in socialism you can. Socialist citizens consider themselves free, just like in the USA.

The socialist ideals are more a mix of free-market economy (capitalism) with more govnernment involvment in things that relate to infrastructure. The fact is that the USA has always had many aspects already based on socialist ideals ....

Most of Europe is a bit more socialist than the USA, yet on a per capita basis countries like Germany, the UK, Switzerland, Sweden, and France produce as much per capita as the USA and have just as much private business .... so it's not like socialism has held them back from being very capitalist in their ways ... but those countries are very proud of the ways in which thier countries employ a socialist approach to certain things ....

The constitution of those counties reads quite similar, and the USA constitution is based on the English constitution.

Poeple should learn more before they judge and put down.

Why thank you for explaining to the uninformed, and that
is exactly how I see the G8 summit, what do they think
can be achieved in two days is beyond me, and the cost
of it all would feed the Third World for a year.

Michelle Obama's ancestry is another matter entirely, one of which I was unaware. It was an ideal opportunity of course, for her, and her daughters, to learn more on their Irish roots, nobody would wish to deprive her of that. We are after all, what our ancestors made us.

As for the slavery...your State can be proud of the part you played in meeting the call, and the resulting freedom the slaves were granted.

one can only have every admiration for that outlook on life

disappearing shortly as off out this afternoon, business
