Be well & stay well
Huge improvement, thanks Quincy.

Thought you might be interested in these gardens, the history
is unique, I haven't been myself but one day hope to...

A round of applause for some fine entertainment there Denny...
really enjoyed watching that and thanks.
psssst...if you ever need an agent!...:)
I went to a cocktail party last night and got to do lots of magic for the people there. The best part is watching their face as you fool their socks off. When you start magic you buy lots of expensive tricks but as you really lean magic you fall in love with the simple things like coins and a rope. I love close up and hate the big stage magic things. If you have $40,000 to spend on a trick anyone can do it.

It's stunning and awesome (in the proper meaning of that word) how powerful nature can be and our inability to master elements of it. You see the same with storms at sea and the hurricane/typhoon (depending what part of the world you are) season. Perhaps, just occasionally as the arrogant humans that we are, we need reminding of the force of nature.

That is not to detract from the sadness of all the families who have suffered in this tragedy.

When I was in the Navy we went through a hurricane. What a ride. You would see someone throw up in their hat and you wanted to join them

It just seems that way. The worst one was in 1925. They are caused by cold fronts hitting warm fronts so spring is so dangerous as the weather changes. Tornadoes are just part of living in Texas and Oklahoma

Personally I do subscribe that theory as I do not identify with either major political party. I believe we need more independents. I consider myself to be very socially liberal as in "how I live my life is none if your damn business if I am hurting you". Same goes for other people - what they do is not business and it certainly isn't.
We do not a believe in the same "god", we do not subscribe to the same principles and lets no be hypocrites. My great disdain for republicans at the moment is their out right refusal to work with the president at the expense of the American people. And they are hypocrites -- they claim the want less gov intrusion in private life but have no problem implementing laws determining who can marry, who can adopt and personal family planning matters. They have no problem jacking up military spending at the expense of mental health care and assistance for the elderly & seriously ill.
We are a highly socially irresponsible country when it comes to caring for our senior citizens. Seniors are far more respected and cared fit in eastern countries than in the US. And the vets coming back from unnecessary wars with all manner of injury, what is being done to help them?
I predicted that Obamma's administration would receive extreme opposition from the opposition ... I knew it would be hard for him to achieve anything meaningful. And yes, I believe it is because he is is black ... they just won't ever admit that out loud.

Actually I believe all those who beleive in God do believe in the same God because there is supposed to be only one GOd ... they just call him different names and have difffernet "stories" and beliefs about him ....

which makes all the religious wars even sadder.

You might be right Grace about the amount of politics discussed, but if that is what folk want to talk about, then so be it.
I like to think there is no censorship in the Kitchen...which incidentally belongs to Everybody.(Post 1)
Will you be watching BGT tonight? I was *like that* about
watching The Eurovision Song Contest, but I think I will
stick with BGT. Pob Luc to UK and Ireland!
I think our convos here in the kitchen reflect what is on our minds at any given time, and we feel comfortable discussing these things with our friends here,... with an international flavour to the discussoin ... I guess politics seems to be on a lot of people's minds then?

But as they say, government is a necessary evil .. there has to be something in place that provides order and structure ... I guess it is the difference between the idealistic utopian version, versus the reality which is subject to human weaknesses, greed and corruption ...

I read that the star of the Oklahoma Thunder NBA team, Kevin Durant, pledged $1 million in aid .. I am very impressed!!!

I checked out Cantigny.....interesting to learn why it was named so..really lovely place..could happily spend some time there finishing the afternoon with Strawberry Chicken Salad at Le Jardin!
The menu sounded divine, I would be spoilt for choice.
We have some very nice public gardens around here .. you might want to look up with google images BUTCHART GARDENS which are near Victoria, Van Dusen Gardens, Minter Gardens (where my nephew held his wedding) and Queen Elizabeth park (a popular setting for weddings in our city)...
