Please Denny,<quoted text>Let me fix you a nice Pimms Cup El :)
May I ask that you put
My name in the pot too(:
I'm not long back,
Having driven a heck of a lot of miles
The funeral went off fine.
I was just thinking, we
seldom realise when we do a little good turn here and there,
how it might reflect later when standing at that person's grave.
Some time ago ... the man whose funeral I just attended,
came to the city with a few friends, he hadn't been well
but was STILL trying to keep up with these macho men(:
(We Know men, always needing to 'save face' very important
anyhow... ME > . Being older I suppose saw through it,
that he was hardly able to keep up their pace
and so I suggested he come to my place to rest and 'keep me company'
Instead of doing a late night pub crawl with the 'lads'
he agreed, quietrelief in his eyes..
I made him a nice cuppa, told him put his feet up and in minutes,
he was fast asleep;
.watching his worn face, I instinctively knew
he needed TLC much more just then than a night out with 'the ads'
I thought of it at his funeral,
And you know, it gave me a warm glow,
realising I did him a small good deed when it counted.
One never knows..
