Yes it is true about what is said inCan you tell me please....
Are we Christians or what?
Is there anyone amongst us has a shred of pity for the young man of 19 fighting for his life....
I often wondered how people who had lost loved ones could forgive those responsible, in fact I thought it beyond my understanding, that I never could personally if someone took the life of one of my family...yet the Lord's Prayer comes to mind..'Forgive us our trespass as we shall forgive them who trespass amongst us'
I can assure you I was as shocked as anybody at recent events, and have all the sympathy in the world for those stricken...
but regardless of the crime, this is a kid who was cohersed into doing something against his nature...anybody can see that, and he is really paying the price.
the Lord's Prayer, I suppose
[speaking only for myself here]
that's what make me VERY different
from the Lord who expects that]!!
I couldn't so easily turn the other cheek..
to certain horrors freely inflicted by others.
It is, of course profoundly sad that those
young brothers allowed themselves down
that road, THE JIHAD BROTHERS as they're
Whether it is a flaw in me or what I dunno,
but I cannot honestly feel pity for him,
yes he's young, but also we've been
told again and again HOW bright of mind he was,
and he got great chances in life.
Damn it, if he was that bright, it doesn't follow
that he would be so easily coerced or would go along, zombie like..
He was a bright young man and had choices.
I know someone of similar age 19.. whose Mom died suddenly,
his Dad is now ailing, they own a large Pub,
this young chap is running the pub all by himself,
as well as looking after his ill Dad who lives with him,
and in the evenings, he's is seen out chopping wood
for the furnace, always, delightful, pleasant and mannerly
and most certainly didn't get one quarter of the
educational chances that were given to the Boston
19 yr old.
We all have choices El, about what to do, even when young,
and WHAT we do with them .. and the consequences that
flow from them
it's all up to ourselves:
