Cutting in for a mo....coincidentally, Oliver Stone was on
The One Show last night which follows on from the News. VERY
interesting man. His series 'The Untold History of U.S.A'
is shortly to be released here, some footage was shown last night,
is this the series you are watching now?
That is the very one :) He tears in on Obama which surprised me. His beef with Obama is that he is just like Bush on the war policy. He is very anti war and says the atom bomb should not have been dropped. Like most of these guys hind sight makes it easy to judge what might have happened. To hear him tell it the Soviets were the good guys and would have not taken over Europe :)

Good day to all!
Allow me a moment to catch up. Thursday I am scheduled to have the staples removed. My curiosity makes me think what tool shall be used. Basic staple remover or pliers? There is a joke here...
I would like to thank all as to my recovery. This injury has enlightened me as to how frail if not fragile a life can be!

The talent shows that air here and in the UK really leaves a lot to be desired in my opinion. Other than Sarah Boyle, none of them have an absolute talent that I would pay to go see! All of those shows remind me of a Chuck Barris presentation from decades gone by. It was called, "The Gong Show". How dreadful! Somehow, there are folks that are pre-disposed of being made fun of. Take the stage hypnotist for example, there are a series of questions that are asked to find out if you are good subject for the show.

My newest recipe for dear EL, is my version of a pineapple, mango, habanero, and cilantro sauce that I used with chicken over jasmine rice. Let me know if you need the measurements. I will do my best to convert to metric! LOL!

Enjoy the day folks. Brighteyes would like to try her hand at hot cross buns this weekend.
Peace.

Could anybody shed some light on this please.
I think it was around the same time as 'Rhoda'
was televised, there was a series in which a
young Dad brings up his daughter, a teen, who
has a friend, and the show centres around them.
I know it isn't much to go on, but it was one
of my favourite television programmes at that
time, I cannot for the life of me remember the
name of it. The dad was really dishy and the
girls trendy and funny.
Anyone? Thanks.
try this.......... Raising Dad
sitcom about a widowed father struggling to separate his professional & personal lives and keeping his sanity while raising two daughters.

Hope you'll get the job done
successfully.

There is 'for' and 'against'
these talent show,
and, granted everyone has a different way of looking at
the.. which is healthy.

There have been some great successes from these shows,
like LEONA LEWIS: ALEXANDRA BURKE..
and dance acts such as SPELLBOUND (who were indeed aptly names)
and DIVERSITY.

I also find interesting that some finalists who don't make it
to winning, often times race ahead 'out in the world' ie> "One Direction" and "Ollie Murs"
to become 'bigger' than the winning acts,
who often fall away when the show is done and dusted.

I think that is the secret of the success of these shows,
the unpredictable nature of it all..

In any case that Simon Cowell.. Louis Walsh etc.
are dead clever guys, it must be said .. in the art of knowing how to
take and prime time TV spots and manage to maintain the
public interest through
the long winter with shows like X FACTOR and BRITAIN'S GOT TALENT.

I agree with you, I also I do NOT like,
[and we talked about this before here]

is... less talented folks.. or folks
who are not [compos mentis] being allowed
slip through the net and appear on stage for the 'entertainment'
of the masses..

I feel the Producers were ticked off about this sort of thing,
as it appears to be less so..

Isn't the case in England of the couple
who set fire to the house which
'killed' 6 children .. truly shocking!
OMG!
he was 'something else',
and not too proud here... to say he was married
to an Irish lassie!!
who was just as bad, it seems..
I hope they are put away for a long time,
God forgive me, but it's hard to feel
*any sympathy* for them...
when one sees on TV, all the beautiful
healthy children lined up..
now wiped out .. gone forever! SHOCKING:
Dear Dear, me!
Grace...that couple are nothing less than serial killers.
Prison is far too good for them. There, he will be called
'Mr' and shown every consideration as in the 'Human Rights'
bill.
Since you mentioned them, the headlines in the newspapers
declare 'Mick was a good Dad'.
Since then they have expressed a wish to have sex 'on their
kiddies graves' and I quote.
A truly deplorable case.
Those poor kids...and further...their poor half siblings who
must be well aware of the reason for the tragic deaths.
A disgrace.

Thinking of you today dear Boomer...you won't feel a thing, really,
so glad you recovered so well, it could have been so much worse.
I have to say, your recipe you mention sounds very very tasty, don't worry about any conversions, I have a chart up on the fridge, have to admit not familiar with habanero, but can do a search.
All the best today then...please let us know how you go on.

I watched a clip on YouTube. Not the one, but what cool
characters, thanks for that suggestion, but this one goes
way back to when Rhoda was aired. A girl's name....
my mind is blank on it. I remember the daughter's friend had red hair?! What we would call over here a little raver!

Well that last sentence says it all Denny, as the Russians did a pretty good job of doing just that as it was.
Wonder what he would have considered to be the alternative?
Or indeed, what steps he would take now re North Korea.

When I got done, the audience was on their feet yelling and giving me a standing ovation, and Steve was extremely perturbed because he never expected me to sing that well. He acted like he made a mistake allowing me to sing because it took the spotlight away from him and he knew that I would be getting all kinds of recording contracts now. It was interesting especially since Sammy Davis is dead. ha ha ha ha ha.
But Steve knew the eyes of the world were on him as to he handled this, and he knew he would lose face if he made it known how bitter he felt at this newcomer coming along, stealing the limelight, so in front of the cameras he forced a huge smile of delight and said 'let's here it for our new star'...the studio audience went wild.....

Yes, I agree with every word,
even hardened police said
they found it extremely difficult
to deal with;

great thinking that
they bugged the house and got the
info which led to their convictions...

like you say HOW difficult it will
be for the other siblings to resume ANY kind

anyway, it has just emerged in the news today, he got LIFE..

[no surprise there]
the other sentences to follow.

Not to appear rude - writing about something

NOT that it will make pleasant reading!
