THOUGHT: here you violate a red light we have a picture of the auto taken and a ticket issued... even though they [ camera] can not prove the driver .... the police hold the owner of the auto responsible ...... PERHAPS IT IS ABOUT TIME... to do the same with guns , make the owners responsible ...
Dreadful news. Not the child's fault and you make a good point
there.

oh I know, I realise that. Not up to me to critisize, I wouldn't
myself from choice, it's the deception involved that has us
concerned. People have a right to know what they are eating.

One thing I do critisize of the French, is why on earth do they
kill our little birds as they are flying over to migrate. Can
only be a moutful at most. You know the ones I am talking about
don't you Den? lol

Sorry to hear you are not up to par...

honestly though .. if they had told the public "sorry for the problem, but if we labelled it correctly, would some of you still buy it, at a huge discount?" ... could those have been sold without such a great loss? Would some folk have been happy to buy them?
Over here we had a couple of meat production factories that sold nationwide, come up with outbreaks of listeria .... hundreds of sick people across the country, millions of recalled packages, and I think a few dead ... it forced one of the two companies to sell off the plant.
Speaking for myself..I wouldn't, no matter how much they reduced it.

It's like eggs. Eggs from battery hens are so much cheaper.

I wouldn't buy them under any circumstances, I see people reaching for them at the store and feel like telling them ' you are condoning cruelty buying those eggs'...a quick glance in their trolley shows they are not hard up, bottles of booze galore,
but no qualms on buying something that a creature leads a life of hell to produce. The stores are at fault stocking such of course.

Incidentally Franko, I believe the horse meat under investigation was not fit for human consumption.

I wish I could say I don't dislike anybody myself...regrettably I formed a dislike of a new neighbour who threatened to chase my little black cat out of her garden in spite of my just telling her that when I rescued him he had a broken femur which the Vet considered had been done by force, and was healing having been unattended to.
It wasn't as though her garden was anything to write home about, it was a disgrace! Lack of compassion does it for me, don't wanna know!
Perfectly understand and I do believe in karma. I've seen it or at least that's what I attributed it to -- the universe meting out its own sense of justice.

I did not mean to suggest that I like or get along with everyone. Who does or can? There are few if any I dislike and those I am indifferent towards. Then there are the people I like and enjoy being around. Like the folks in the kitchen....

Good afternoon and evening to all! Boomer just said that London is under a blanket of snow and cancelling flights. Guess it's time for warm tea or hot chocolate! Won the match for pool yesterday. Had to play a new player yesterday for the table and he sank the 8 ball at the end when he was losing terribly, maybe to save face being beat by a lady? LOL Lots of fun. No single digits here in Ohio, yet we did wake to a light flurry of snow. Hoping everyone is well in the kitchen as always.
Peace to all.

He asks 'Do you sell fish cakes here?'

'No' was the reply.

WELCOME BACK Tony,
so glad you had a great and enjoyable holiday..
Not so lucky for these people,
have you heard of this..
http://www.u.tv/News/Co-Antrim-doctor-dies-in...
so tragic,
showing once again there is an element of danger
in every sport..
but for the vast majority it is
great fun....
I saw thar - have climbed in Glencoe, but in summer. The mountains can be dangerous, even for the most experienced. It is especially sad when one so young dies at the start of what one imagines would have been a very productive life. Lost an acquaintance years ago (she was also a young doctor), killed at Cowes when the boom of her yacht gybed and hit her.

Morning Tony! Hope you've enjoyed your recent travels. Did you get to meet any skiers?
A potato is still a potato no matter how you eat it.
:-)
Good day to you!
Hi Quinnie - met lots of skiers (intentionally rather than colliding!), had a convivial time, ate too much and drank too much, but lost a little weight from the exercise. The snow conditions were really good, which was a plus.

Only one fall - but that had to be right in front of she-who-must-be-obeyed! She laughed her socks off, but did then admit it's the first time in 12 years of skiing together that she's seen me fall - no doubt it made her day as I'm usually far enough ahead when I have a spill that I'm back on my feet before she arrives on the scene! Women's Downhill was awesome - I couldn't ski at 90 mph as they do - and an American lass won, Alice McKennis.

The UK has copped a fairly heavy fall, schools closed etc. Needless to say, we've had none in Cornwall.
