<quoted text>Also El we are shocked when we see cases where a person in England shoots someone breaking in his home and goes to prison for defending his self
Defending himself against what? Someone nicking a few possessions?
Not worth a life Denny, at least not in my book.
My late mother-in-law's home was broken into years ago, the young
burglar took some food and a few pounds which were lying near the
telephone...you think my mother-in-law should have shot him dead
if she had been home?
He was an opportunist....hungry that's all.

That is exactly how it was. The biggest threat to oneself was
the usual bully and the threat of being sent to the Head's study
if naughty! Life was so simple then.

<quoted text>I have a very small .380 in my back pocket all the time. You never know when you will walk into a robbery. I have carried for over 15 years and never need it. But that doesn't mean I won't need it tomorrow. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it :)
You must feel naked when you visit England. How would you
cope here if you were to run into a robbery? Just wondering.

What are your thoughts?
I put your question to my husband...ex Royal Artillery.
His answer was he could not understand anybody having the
need to own or carry a weapon.

She was very lucky she wasn't harmed. I would shoot anyone breaking in my home. I would assume he was armed and my life was at risk. Our two countries see things very differently. Self defense is a right here. Here criminals all have guns and are much more likely to kill the witness

Drugs and gangs have changed all that here. When I was growing up everyone carried a knife but it wasn't to fight with.

Sounds like the weather there is much like the weather here... It stormed all night but the sun is shining now and for the moment it's not to bead.. We might hit 70 degrees today... WEIRD very very WEIRD for January 11th...
;o)
I hope that this will be a great day for you and P and that no matter what you do you will have fun and enjoy yourself..
I am going to be moving furniture.. Not what I really want to do but I have a new livingroom set coming next week.. So I want to get the old set out and gone... I'm keeping My Recliner.. but the couch and the other recliner are gonna be given away.. The couch is going to be the real bear though as it is a hide-a-bed... and that sucker is really heavy.
Sending you and yours all of my best wishes...
((Love-n-Hugs))
@}-'--,---
Good Afternoon Dear Rose....That sounds like awfully hard work..
hope you have some help with that. I would be round to give you a
hand if I were nearer! Recliners are our best friends of an evening after the day's work...wouldn't be without mine....
We are expecting Siberian weather this weekend Rose, have got all the work out of the way now and taking it easy over the weekend...
got a book today delivered on Tagine cooking, so will get my Tagine down from off the top of the kitchen cupboards and see what I can rustle up for Saturday night. Just thinking now of the comparison of Saturday nights gone by, dancing, dates for the following week..now I get excited over the thoughts of a tagine meal! lol
Have a fabulous weekend, enjoy your Spring like weather, don't question it, just enjoy it!
Love-n-HUGS...<3

Well I know there is less chance of being shot in England. Our criminals are more apt to kill a witness. They say the first person you kill puts you in the chair so the rest are free. I do carry a small knife with me in England and I am not sure it is legal because it has a locking blade. The blade is only 2 inches but I am not sure about the lock being OK. I show my friends my gun license and they can't believe it because it is so foreign to them

Would he feel the same if every criminal was armed and may be willing to kill you?

Do you know what Denny. I think your country is running scared.

I am a gentle soul just like I am here El. When you carry a gun you never lose your temper and you try to walk away from any altercation. People at gun shows are very very polite :)

I remember years ago when someone in the UK stabbed a bunch of school children. The thing I hate are the emotional reactionary laws that are passed. We had a case of someone driving his car into a bunch of people and killing and injure several people. You didn't see a rush to ban cars. People say why do you need a 30 round magazine. Well why do you need a car that will go over 100 ? I am not a fan of big mags but it does no good to restrict them. A gun with a 10 round mag is no more deadly than a gun with a 10 round mag. All this uproar has resulted in a huge run on gun store . The prices have doubled. The shelve are empty. Some store are completely out of ammo. I bought a bolt action .223 target rifle because the ammo is cheap and you can't find any. Back ordered! My interest in guns is not how many rounds I can fire fast. I am a target shooter and interested in perfection of putting each round through the same hole

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Scorpio

You're in a very romantic and sentimental state today. You're also feeling quite sensitive and vulnerable, so you won't want to be around anyone you find abrasive or aggressive. If you meet someone for the first time now you'll think they're wonderful and your relationship will always involve putting them on a pedestal. But don't be too idealistic. They are human, remember!
