My avatar is our "tuxedo cat" Panda. 3 years old, 38 inches long, a little more than a meter, and a whopping 12 pounds, 6 kilos; our other is a Maine Coon mix, Simba, is half the size and weight of Panda. Both were rescue cats. Maine Coons are the coolest cats - we had one that lived for 21 years. He was like a dog - used to come for walks!

eleanorigby wrote: <quoted text>Aw Thank you Boomer..:) So..how many beasts have you? I seem to remember you saying you had two? We have eleven...the eldest is 16 and a half, next to him is Ginger Bailey who is 15...and so it goes to the three youngest who are three and two years old. Quite hard work as I feed them individually, twice daily, and in the case of one, three times daily as he joins us for lunch. Watching a match later in the afternoon, so am making a Spaghetti Bolognese early...a little girl in the USA taught me how to make it many years ago, that little girl is now a nurse in the Army. Time flies. Wishing you and Brighteyes a wonderful weekend. Wow El! I did not realize you fed them individually! Two are hard enough! But we love our animals, don't we?

While the kittens are too cute and some cats are friendly, I must admit I'm more of a dog person. Mind you, its not that don't like cats, I just prefer dogs ---- they are more dependent on their "peeps".

I have company coming tomorrow so I have to mop and I just don't feel like doing it but it must be done :(

I found out that Panda is part Siberian. He has the longest tail of any cat I ever owned. I was thinking 90 minutes from Columbus. So, you start east, we start west. A straight shot would put us close to Indianapolis.

Cheers to all the kitchen patrons far and wide. Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the sights and sounds and smells all around you. Those of you with inclement weather, be well and be safe. Though devastating for a moment, our thing can be replaced.....loved ones and our memories cannot. .......and a thank you to all for touching my life...

RM, altho' I sense I'm *not* among your favourites here (Irish & all) but, I can live with that lol.. I don't have to be! we are all different.. and are attracted to.. & by different folks. I made dead sure ... when in France .. to set time aside & come by *especially* to wish everyone HAPPY NEW YEAR.. and I meant it.. only two folks responded > 'El & 'DEER WHISPERER'..(AND Vee in private by email) Maybe I should never say this, but, sometimes, it is good to be true to self! even old Shakespeare said that(:

Was written by the same guy who writes Downton Abbey, Julian Fellowes (who is a bona fides peer of the realm: Baron Fellowes of West Stafford). He won an Oscar for the sreenplay for Gosford Park. What I saw seemed pretty accurate historically - Victoria's mother was a scheming cow. Um! thanks for that snippet & interesting Tony to hear 'twas by the same person responsible for the inimitable DOWNTON.. Yes, indeed it had that touch.. most certainly. LOL On another note, I know the feeling of falling asleep BEFORE bed at the risk of spoiling a whole night's sleep(: think, we've ALL been 'there' lol Hope you weren't too tired next day(:

Both were rescue cats. Two is just nice. Panda is some cat at three feet in length, quite a handful. We have a couple of heavy weights and in MillyMolly's case, a lightweight, but she is only tiny. I am trying to get weight on her. Does Simba favour the Maine Coon's personality traits? Beautiful natured cats. Two of our youngest were thrown out of their 'home' on Christmas Eve, three years ago, we thought they were rats when they ran in the kitchen desperate for food. They are chubby little souls now, puddings on four legs, lol. I was too late aving the female spayed...Rosie Probert is her one kitten...she is a blue/cream tortie with orange eye colour, quite a distinctive little cat.

Their weights vary from 16 lbs to 5 lbs. I knew a lady once who had two cats, one was big as a house, lol, as he was a fast eater and ate his own, and his companions meal, the latter was very skinny. Taught me a lesson. All this bunch have their own little dish....:)

We can only discuss the weather and pets for so long, right? Enjoy your company Darlin'...and good luck doing the tile floors!....:)

DENNY CRAINE: Firstly, Sorry to hear you are feeling LOW... To *ell with the tiled floors.. just put YOU first & explain to your guests that you are not feeling the best - make NO apologies for putting YOURSELF first.. I'm sure your friends have ALWAYS valued YOU more highly than any floors or how clean they might appear. Best of luck & health and I mean that.
