Liam Neeson in Jack Reacher film wouldn't work well. He portrayed an ex-CIA operative in Taken, released in autumn 2008 and in its sequel Taken 2 released this past autumn. So,'overload' of two different similar characters might be problematic never mind the possible filming schedule conflict.
Oh, does Cruise have any ownership/partnership in the film group responsible for "Jack Reacher"? If so, he was a 'lock' for the role, I'll bet.
[Greetings DW]

Liam Neeson, it seems, is good at *whatever*
he does!

altho' and.. having said that...

" TAKEN 2"
wasn't as good as "TAKEN"

I thought Taken 2 was good but it is tough with a sequel. I mean will there be a Taken 6 :)

(hi El, and thanks for letting us talk in your kitchen)
Things are OK lately, it's a long story.
It stormed last night, strong wind and lots of rain. The rain was good, it hasn't rained hardly at all for a LONG time, the plants needed it.
The Mrs and I are from Oregon and are of many mixed European backgrounds. I have French, German, English and others, and some native American, my dad was born on a reservation.'halo' is spelled 'haole'-
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haole
Yep, could be called that. I'd say I fit in more with the locals than the new haoles though. Left the mainland in '83. Haole is a derogatory term, and nobody calls me that to my face, lol.
I have a German heritage story... My Grandma (on one side- obviously) had a maiden name of Blank, which was said to be a shortened form of Von Blanc (sp?). So a long time ago, I was talking to a German girl and told her I am part German and my Grandma's maiden name was Von Blanc, and she said that's not German! That it's from a small country next to Germany, as I remember. So, I don't know much really.
Hello there Fish, very nice to see you here, want to wish you a
very Happy New Year.
That is a very interesting name to a genealogist, which I like to think
of myself as, lol...I do know that the surname Blanc is Hugeonot, I
believe that branch settled in Ireland....
Von Blanc certainly sounds German....have you tried searching for the surname on ancestry.com
Couldn't resist replying to you on this, one of my favourite subjects!
Hope you make yourself at home in the kitchen....you are more than welcome.

Hi Everyone,

had a wonderful post Christmas holiday..
Every day was special and wonderful and

traveling that part of FRANCE, observing the vineyards

but I won't go on, as, hearing every detail about another's vacation can be boring..
Hope everyone's well.. and I DID *especially* come by
on New Year's eve to sincerely wish everyone here a
Happy New Year..

'Evening Grace...really glad to see you back, have been thinking
about you and as to when you would be home...
I haven't wished you a Happy New Year personally, so wishing that
for you now, a Happy and Healthy New Year to you Grace.

EL,
I like Graham Norton,
He is Irish you know, I suppose,
he is SO good at what he does..
Glad you got over CHRISTMAS ok...
Me too but I was dead tired,
I REALLY feel age is rapidly catching up
on me, really, I do!
can't hack it as before! really.
My sons were *nothing* short of superb.. wouldn't
let me wash a cup, sent me to bed the day
we arrived, as I was washed out tired from a
very early flight.. they had a beautiful dinner laid
on when I got up later..
attended my every need.
there was simply tangible love circling between us..
but..
enough of that.
you mentioned
'Mrs Browne's Boys'
lol
it's a scream, I agree,
and .. loke you say
there IS more to him than that.
I remember a live radio show..
a woman crying, stating that her child
must have unusual urgent medical
treatment that would cost 5grand..it
was completely out of range of
'her' finances..
before the programme ended, Brendan> "Mrs Browne'
rang in to cover the cost entirely..
saying he wasn't looking for praise for doing it..
but that ONCE he had been
where she was, financially speaking!
Nice thought..
me again...

Grace...I never miss Graham Norton if I can possibly help it, his
show is always very entertaining as is he. I saw him on 'Who Do You
Think You Are' that was interesting.
Isn't that marvellous of Brendan (Mrs. Browne) glad you mentioned
that, give an insight into his character, I think you can 'tell'
myself whether they are decent people or not..
Another good episode on Sunday...where the hypnotist does his thing, lol
really very funny.

Have a good rest Grace, it's natures way of getting back your strength,
I know the feeling, we should take a leaf out of the animals book, and
hibernate I think.

I will say Good Night now,

Good Night Everybody.

Thanks for the welcome El.
I see it's time for you to go to bed, so, Good Morning, if that's when you're reading this now.
I figured you might find that family history interesting.
My mom (and her mom) have passed away, so it's hard for me to get information (I'm an only child.). My uncle, mom's only sibling has passed away too. I will try to remember to ask one of my cousins on that side what they know about names, if I ever get to see them. It's funny how I get some of the old stories mixed up. But, I'm sure my mom told me she thought the "Blank" name was originally preceded by 'Von', I might have made up the 'Blanc' spelling. Records show Blank. Most of my life I thought my Grandpa on that side died falling out of a train caboose on his head (I think he was part German too and did work for the railroad.). I brought it up to my mom not too long before she passed away, about 10 years ago, and she laughed and said something like-'where did you get that?'. She said he died of brain cancer. I think my parents must have told me that when I was little, can't believe I made it up- in my mind.
I know, when you look at history books, there are a lot of 'Von-.....' Germans. One question is, was that girl right, was the 'Von' from some other place, from people that moved to Germany?
