FC, type "Chinese Years" into a google search and it will come up with a variety of sites. Several allow you to type in your date of birth and then it gives you your sign. I believe it is done on the basis of each year, but as Chinese New Year is different from the western calendar, you need the month also.

I agree with simple.
they changed the tax system here about 15 years ago to something called GST ... it replaced a system called Federal Sales tax ... the old system collected taxes at the point of sale from manufacturer to wholesaler or retailer ... it involved about 1 million businesses ....

The tax was built into the end price to the consumer.

The GST is charged on every transaction done to the end user ... it took an extra 5000 employees to process the paperwork.

It collects the same money, just at a different stage in the cycle ...

ALso, when the GST came in, they did not reduce the price of the product and collect the tax on top, with the end result being the same price to the consumer . It created INSTANT 6% inflation across the country!!!!

It made NO sense to switch.

It's just a little something fun, not something to live my life around. Some if the Chinese restaurants here put on the placemats on the table. Not much different from reading the little fortunes in the cookies.

So when are those of us on the North American Continent going to pick a place to meet? Sturgis South Dakota might be too busy.
Not excluding the Euro-diners just didn't know if you'd spare the expense since you're a little further away.
It would be a wonderful opportunity for me to visit places I missed the first time...Chicago was always on my wish list as I mentioned to you..
plus, meeting folk here I chat to on an almost daily basis,
but...lots of little 'charges' dependent upon me, no way can I take
time out, some are old now...they don't care for strangers..some were
badly treated before I got to them...

But, wonderful idea Quincy, and good luck with it, bear in mind, I want
group photos if you all meet up....:)

I did...:)

It's funny you should think like that though PFfff...I remember
many years ago when starting a new positon in a company, I was
hired as the firm's book-keeper, large engineering firm, I was 26
and the boss was discussing pensions ...I tried looking interested
but thought, that is a hundred years away.....

But it wasn't..it's gone by...

Always been an avid reader. Lived taken the train to work - 45 minutes & a book - finding the time us what's harder now since its a long drive to work. Kindles and audio books don't quite do it for me.
