Deja vu ... pitching, pitching, pitching.

Game 3 ALCS -- Red Sox one swing better than Tigers from Napoli's home run. Final 1-0 in Boston's favor.

So they outdo Cardinals. Through 3 ALCS games and with a 2-1 lead in games, Red Sox has a team batting average of 0.133.

Go figure!

{Tigers' Verlander just ain't gettin' any help!)

NLCS: Nice shutout game for STL last night / final score 9-0 & 19th trip to World Series for them ... They've won 11 of them so far ... 4 of them in the last 10 years ... MVP ---> Michael Wacha, pitcher ... A job well done ...

ALCS: BOS leads series against DTW 3-2 ... Game 6 tonight 8E/C ... Give that old broken down city something to smile about ... Save Verlander, the best for last ... GO DETROIT TIGERS ...

Either way, what a matchup ...

STL vs BOS or STL vs DTW ... WOW!...

It's brought, FC! The World Serious is *finally* to be played. Cardinals vs. Red Sox.

Key is Cardinals not allowing grand slam homers by the Sox!

Wacha, Wacha, Wacha! Go Cardinals!!

A short rebuttal from the opposing side...;) LOL!!

Clearly...Wainwright and Wacha are better than any starting pitchers the Red Sox have..Lester would only be at best the 3rd starter on the Cardinals..

But the "Green Monsta" looming very close over the right shoulder of pitchers unfamiliar with Fenway Park has a tendency to make them very cautious and tentative to pitch inside to right handed hitters and cause them to be throw too many fastballs away and even nibble at the outside corner too much..

On paper...the Cardinals are the better team tonight...but let's see what unfolds...:)

Thanks for time and consideration...:) LOL!!

No problem. Should be a great Series! Long live the Green Monster, Wrigley Field ya know?!

Meanwhile, Jim Leyland (Tigers manager) has hung up his uniform and cleats. Will be in front office, I guess.

I have the utmost respect for Jim Leyland...any man that doesn't take any guff from Barry Bonds( when he managed the Pirates in the 1990's)..is one righteous dude in my book!!

Happy Trails Jim Leyand!!

No kidding about there not being any big names out there. The guys the papers are showing for the Cubs job bears that out. To take over a playoff contender like Detroit though, how about Bob Brenly? He's doing TV for the D-backs though and might be content with that and that contract.

Brenley would be good, yeah. Of course, he might be content to be out of the grinder of field management. McCarver is reportedly stepping out of the broadcast booth after this Series. Maybe Brenley is looking at a national TV gig, a la Bill Cowher staying out of NFL coaching for TV work.

As do I, and going back to Pirates as you described. Leyland at work kind of reminded me of Sparky Anderson.

I'm going to catch this evening's episode of Survivor (with commercial breaks going to Series) and then ... game on!

I've got "cracker jack" gourmet caramel corn with pecans and almonds. Sold by my grandsons' Scout troop ... I have to step up for that sort of thing, you see.

PLAY BALL!

Bob Brenly is an awesome announcer. I was sorry to see him go. I respect Tim McCarver but, he's senile. He could be Ratso Rizzo to Joe Buck's...Joe Buck.

No doubt though, Tim McCarver is a nice man. Kinda lame on the ball games though. Buck's annoying! It's funny that probably fans in every city are sure he hates their team just like Chicago fans are sure he hates the Cubs/Bears. Well, his dad was the Cards announcer for a few decades....

The thing is, with all announcers, they have to keep people watching. They have to keep it exciting and talk it up that that the other team is going to come back. People think this is showing favoritism. In most cases they are being...bi-partisan. It's just odd to hear him call a Bears-Packers game and fans from each team think he favors the other!

Well, I hope that Cardinals got *that* out of their system. Not sure if Beltran can play before Saturday as that was a good lick he took at the wall. That's not the best way to keep grand slams from occurring.

The Red Sox will gladly take that "gift" from the Cardinals last night. For the first two(2) innings...I thought I was having a flashback to the "Bad News Bears" Movie..LOL!! Then to add injury to insult...Beltran "dings" his ribs...that potentially may be the greater than the loss last night.

Now..I am very curious to see what this pitching phenom is all about.Wacha certainly has been virtually untouchable in his last 30 innings. Hopefully he has some fielding support him tonight unlike Wainwright. Let's see how he handles pitching in Fenway Park..with a certain "Green Monsta" looming menacingly over his right shoulder. It sometimes causes young phenoms to get a bit "edgy" and tentative.

We shall see...

Of all the pro team "homers" in their markets in whom I've heard or watched, and the TV sports broadcasters on the national networks, it's mostly been college basketball analysts that 'bug' me:

1. Al McGuire (sometimes)
2. Billy Packer (more often than not)
3. 1 & 2 together (almost all the time)
4. Bill Rafftery (pretty much all the time)

special mention: Erin Andrews @ FOX as she's doing college football broadcasts and NFL sideline sometimes -- I'm ready to hit the mute button when she's speaking. Something about her voice ... grating.
