The few times I've gone to a pro football game, everyone was griping, cussing, and mad at someone or something the entire game.
At every baseball game, people are chatting with the folks around them, laughing, talking pictures, hamming it up for the 'kiss cam' or the 'dance cam'. When the can catch a ball, they get to keep it. It's a fraction of the cost per ticket, a pleasant and helpful usher shows you to your seat and wipes it clean. They don't have cops or burly security guys standing around scowling and barking orders.
Baseball is essentially continuous action. Football is 'stand around for 40 seconds, line up, run a play that takes all of 10 seconds, and repeat.'
Why is football (allegedly) so popular?
Just like a bagger! It's not enough for you to like baseball. You have to HATE football! Everything with you people is *proving* your *love* for something by professing your hatred for something else!

All you can do is attack others with your political BS. Just surprised you didn't post something homosexual to him, Pete. You are a sick individual that needs to be put out of society's misery.

Hi dear FC! Oh fer sure.

Found out Victory Field got a state-of-the-art electronic scoreboard and 'Jumbo-tron' with 'fan-cam' action back in 2010. At some point, original outfield seats were replaced by a picnic/viewing area.

And these scenic views and info:

That the Ferret is an idiot. He's been trolling so much lately, he can't seem to keep up with it all. Must be the added stress of crying about it all on his "well read blog".

Here he is in action last night:

Right now the O's have a close that has 2 pitches; waaay out of the strike zone or right down the middle.
NBC Baseball game of the week. Curt Gowdy and Tony Kubek then Joe Garagiola in the booth. Those were the days.
2 Earl Weaver quotes:

"Nobody likes to hear it, because it's dull, but the reason you win or lose is darn near always the same - pitching."

"You can't sit on a lead and run a few plays into the line and just kill the clock. You've got to throw the ball over the damn plate and give the other man his chance. That's why baseball is the greatest game of them all."

That's going to be a good thing. I remember three of these 5 blown calls in the World Series.

http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news...

1970 -- Reds vs. Orioles; ball behind catcher, Reds runner called out.

1975 -- catcher/batter interference call

1985 -- Cards meltdown in game 6 and 7 vs. Royals after the blown call at first in 6th game.

Man, I "hated" the Os, almost as much as the Yankees. First, Frank Robinson "deserts" the Reds for the Os. 2nd,they were so good with those 4 20+ wins pitchers and the line-up.

3rd
1970 World Series - Ken Burkhart

Former MLB player Ken Burkhart became an umpire—and a good one. He worked six All-Star games and three World Series in his career. In one of the World Series, he was caught in the middle of the action. In Game 1 of the 1970 Series, Cincinnati Reds' Ty Cline hit a roller in front of home plate. Burkhart called it fair, but he got knocked to the ground. Bernie Carbo slid into home and Orioles catcher Elrod Hendricks applied the tag. Burkhart couldn't see the play clearly, but he called Carbo out. Replays showed the tag was made with an empty glove. This play allowed the Orioles to hold on and win the game.
[I remember -- oh so well -- the ball is smack behind the catcher clear as day as TV covered it. And the Sports Illustrated photo. Grrrr ]
