Left-Lane Slowpokes May Be Georgia's Newest Criminals

Mar 12, 2014 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: WONE-AM Dayton

If you've ever been stuck behind a person driving too slowly in the fast lane, the Georgia Legislature is here for you: Its "slowpoke" bill would require anyone driving on a divided highway to move to the right when a faster car approaches from behind - even if the "slowpoke" is actually going the speed limit.

Yes, in Illinois they did pass a law like that (though, not as extreme as $1,000 fine and a year in jail; only a $75 ticket). http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2004-01-04...

It changed NOTHING. People pass on the left, they pass on the right and it is RARE to find anyone doing less than five miles OVER the speed limit.

No, I'm the guy who typically cruises at 75mph in the far left lane when the legal limit is 70mph. If I come upon someone driving 65mph, then I'll either slow down to match their speed or merge to the right and then back to the left again a mile in front of them. The guy driving 65mph doesn't bother me.
What does bother me is that one guy driving 80mph who thinks that everyone else, even those of us who are already driving 10mph above the limit, should move the hell out of his way.
I know what this is all about. It's about I-285 loop around Atlanta and the idiot drivers from south Fulton county. The police want the other drivers to kindly move out the way so southside idiots won't tailgate other drivers at 75mph or start a road rage incident.

This has to be about I-285. In most parts of Georgia, if you're driving in the "left hand lane", then you're driving into oncoming traffic.

Maybe I'll be cited for failure to yield, one day... but most likely not. In any event, there will be 10,000 lead footed pricks in line ahead of me. After all, the cops have a device to measure speed, but they don't have a device to measure civil dissobediance and refusal to yield the left lane.

".. the driver of an overtaken vehicle shall give way to the right in favor of the overtaking vehicle on audible signal .."

Just ride my tail while honking your horn, and I'll ease on over into the right hand lane eventually when it's clear.

Not Really! It's just that too many people in the past have thought of us Transpersons, as pushovers. We aren't taking it anymore. I regarded mr Wolf's comments about eating Republicans as being provocative. If we were in the same room, I would have considered them a threat. Oh and BTW, Transpersons are not monolithically left wing socialists. I know many who think that the Dems are and don't want anything to do with them. Most Transexuals, Have MENSA level IQs,and if not blocked or prevented, rise to the tops of their chosen profession and don't need socialism to survive.

Well there's no such thing as a "fast lane" the speed limit is the saying, all the way across the road. If someone is in the PASSING LANE and doing the posted speed limit, no one has any reason to complain (though admittedly you're not supposed to drive in that lane if there's room in the right lanes)
