Left-Lane Slowpokes May Be Georgia's Newest Criminals

There are 103 comments on the WONE-AM Dayton story from Mar 12, 2014, titled Left-Lane Slowpokes May Be Georgia's Newest Criminals. In it, WONE-AM Dayton reports that:

If you've ever been stuck behind a person driving too slowly in the fast lane, the Georgia Legislature is here for you: Its "slowpoke" bill would require anyone driving on a divided highway to move to the right when a faster car approaches from behind - even if the "slowpoke" is actually going the speed limit.

So they want to make the law breaker have right of way.

This is as stupid as giving illegal aliens drivers licenses.!

But I have seen dumber things happen!

Unless you are the law, what someone else does really isn't your business.

If you insist on "enforcing" the law, become a police officer........

Turn that philosophy toward yourself, boob ya. Use it when it comes to such issues as same-sex marriage, immigration, and other issues that are none of your business.

We're on topix, fool.

A little different than playing police enforcer on the highways in the real world, no?

So don't get angry when that car driving 70mph in the left hand lane refuses to move over. That's what this is about, folks breaking the speed limit law want folks breaking the slowpoke law to move over.

In a free society, WE are the law.

We HIRE people to enforce the law and to protect us from those who break the law.

It IS your business when someone is speeding. People who speed PUT not only THEIR LIFE at risk, but also the LIVES around them in danger of injury or death.

A blown tire, broken tie rod and MASSIVE DESTRUCTION all around.

Same for drunk drivers. Do friends let friends drive drunk? Or are you one of those people who say, not my problem ....?

There is a danger in saying, not my problem.

The left lane is for passing, everyone except the passive aggressive crowd seems to get that.......

If you had actually read the article you would see that the bill is sponsored by a former State Trooper........

Engaging in online discussions is somehow equivalent to being a left lane enforcer?

That's quite a stretch, even for you!

Good! When you're allergic to bee stings and you just been stung a number of times and you have to get to the hospital and quickly, And the guy ahead of you thinks you're "Just Some Crazy Driver" who's in a hurry and you can drive his speed and like it. Then you realize the value of this law.

There was a large bus in the far left passing lane driving very slow with it's left turn signal on.

It turned out to be The Rolling Stones Tour Bus.- J. Leno

It's common courtesy that slower traffic moves to the right lanes. We have signs in Tennessee reminding us every ten miles. Passing cars and trucks on the right hand lanes is see all the time are cars side by side going the exact same velocity under the speed limit where nobody can pass.

Why is it that those on the left always seem to be causing the problem?

I lived in Georgia and I believe they are some of the best drivers. Atlanta for being a congested city always keeps the traffic moving.

No, but I have Georgia on my mind.

And that "black dog" is a wolf, a proud member of my family.
