Do you like commuter rail? I've ridden on some of the busiet commuter rail in the US (LIRR, metro-North), and I love it. Many people want commuter rail for our area surrounding Albany, in Schoharie, Albany, Rennsaelaer, and Saratoga counties. So, do you think commuter rail would do any good for where you live?

Can he arrange a cab everyday for work, or take a bus? We can do that here in the Albany area.

Oh...we have bus service in all the counties around here, so people from the inner city, and suburbia can take the bus...we have the CDTA--many routes, Northway Xpress, which is for northern suburbs of Albany county, downtown for the downtown of the cities CDTA serves, Whitehall, Colonie/Guilderland crosstown, suburban circulator...there are just bus routes for everywheres.

We do as well...they have an anywhere pass, which my son gets...starting VERY soon they are going to limit the amount of times you can use this pass...Septa has TERRIBLE service...they are always raising prices or going out on strike...they have a monopoly...so why should they care???

We need a commuter rail here in PA. Traffic is really piling up, our roads can't handle all our traffic. Fixing our roads and bridges would give jobs, killing 2 birds with one stone.

Yes, in certain areas, even just one or two of these commuter rails would help break up the traffic.

Yea traffic is really horrible here too, especially since many people go to the city for work, and only school teachers and some others come to rural and suburbia, so traffic is light on one side of the road, heavy on the other...other solutions could work, but I think commuter rail is the best, even though it is very expensive to build new rail lines.

My son just mentioned to me...that some of the Trains show up and the doors won't open...often at rush hour they send trains with only 2 cars, when they need 6...yet, somehow they get the Best transit agency in North America...I think they are stuffing the ballot box...LOL

Hopefully they get better organized in the near future.

Do they use double decker trains like LIRR, or do they use single deck?
