Once again (this is becoming a nasty habit), the Topix gods have eaten our Celebrity Pool.

Mercifully, I keep excellent records (although not very current).

FIRST: The Rules --

It's that time again. Make your picks for which celebrities will die in 2012. The rules are simple:

a) the person must be a celebrity "now" and not become a celebrity because of their death

b) the celebrity cannot be an inmate on death row or have been captured, tried, convicted and/or sentenced to death prior to your list being posted

c) you cannot kill any celebrity on your list

d) the celebrity cannot be dead before you post your picks and/or cannot be dead before 1/1/12. If one or more of your picks dies after your list is posted but before 1/1/12, the dead picks are voided and you must replace ONLY those names with other celebrity picks

e) the celebrity must be human (no animals)

f) points are awarded by subtracting the age of the dead celebrity from 100 (50 year old gets you 50 points, 80 year old gets you 20 points, etc.)

g) you are responsible for updating the forum and your points when one of your celebrities kicks the bucket

h) Only REGISTERED users of Topix are allowed to enter. Otherwise, too many people would enter multiple lists. It's easy to register, don't complain

i) Your list must include 10 celebrities (no more, no less)

j) Conjoined twins count as ONE celebrity. The points awarded will be 100 minus the age of ONE twin

k) If you find Celebrity Dead Pool morbid or distasteful, don't play. We don't wish for anyone to die, although, everyone eventually will. We only try to predict WHEN certain celebrities will die.

Good luck!

Not long before it disappeared someoe made a similar thread but it was directed at Stack and basically wished him dead.

The person who made that one that was pulled showed up on the celeb thread commenting about getting an email that said no more making that kind of thread.

Then the celeb thread was pulled and they continue to pull them

This one probably will too

Since some folk are reportedly offended by the term 'dead pool', we could just call it the Celebrity DP instead.

Well that might offend even more, now that I see it in print.

Ernest Borgnine

LOS ANGELES - Ernest Borgnine, the beefy screen star known for blustery, often villainous roles, but who won the best-actor Oscar for playing against type as a lovesick butcher in "Marty" in 1955, died Sunday. He was 95.

His longtime spokesman, Harry Flynn, told The Associated Press that Borgnine died of renal failure at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center with his wife and children at his side.

Borgnine, who endeared himself to a generation of Baby Boomers with the 1960s TV comedy "McHale's Navy," first attracted notice in the early 1950s in villain roles, notably as the vicious Fatso Judson, who beat Frank Sinatra to death in "From Here to Eternity."

Then came "Marty," a low-budget film based on a Paddy Chayefsky television play that starred Rod Steiger. Borgnine played a 34-year-old who fears he is so unattractive he will never find romance. Then, at a dance, he meets a girl with the same fear.

LOS ANGELES -
Film producer Richard Zanuck, who won the best picture Oscar for "Driving Miss Daisy," has died. He was 77.

Zanuck's publicist says he died of a heart attack at his Beverly Hills home on Friday.

Zanuck was also involved in such blockbuster films as "Jaws" and "The Sting" after his father, Hollywood mogul Darryl F. Zanuck, fired him from 20th Century Fox.

Richard Zanuck's run of successes as an independent producer rivaled the achievements of his legendary father.

The production company the younger Zanuck founded with David Brown produced "The Sting" in 1973, as well as Steven Spielberg's first feature film, "The Sugarland Express," in 1974 and Spielberg's first blockbuster, "Jaws," in 1975.

LOS ANGELES (AP)- The 36-year-old son of Sylvester Stallone was found dead Friday, leaving the actor grief-stricken, his publicist said.

Details surrounding the death of Sage Stallone were not immediately available.

"Sylvester Stallone is devastated and grief-stricken over the sudden loss of his son," publicist Michelle Bega said in a statement. "His compassion and thoughts are with Sage's mother, Sasha."

Los Angeles police said they were dispatched to investigate a death at a home on Mulholland Terrace around 2:15 p.m. but could not confirm the person's identity or offer details.

Coroner's officials also said they were in the initial investigative stages.

Sage Moonblood Stallone was the oldest of Sylvester Stallone's children and co-starred with his father in two films.
