I use to love Monopoly, Life, Stratigo, Trouble.
Board games are fun. Anyone remember Mouse Trap, lol.
Twisters real fun with baby oil and alcohol.

It is a shame we have to dumb down life for kids too.

At least they didn't turn this into a Fundamentalist version. "Go straight to Hell, don't collect $200."

Rates right up there with passing kinds along to the next grade when they can't do the work of the one they're in.

So what if they can't read or write as long as they fell good about themselves.

Me too. It is just that they want to make the game for ADHD kids. It seems the jail can slow game play, and the kids want things yesterday.

If kids still want a jail in a game, maybe someone could invent a CSI game. Maybe you could draw a murder card, and if someone lands on your square after they have obtained so many evidence cards, then you go to jail.

There will be thousands of the old games on store shelves for a long time to come.

When they run out they will be available on ebay.

Still, in my mind, changing the game is much like Obama encouraging people to sign up for food stamps.

Cater to the lowest denominator.

If it aint broke don't fix it

Replacing counters and updating the street properties, now this. Suppose they think a modern updated Monopoly will appeal to the next generation; but why don't they just bring out their "new improved" game and keep the old game still "Monopoly traditional edition". I like the old Monopoly board, it's quirky and has history

I love playing Monopoly! I even loved playing it when I was a child. My child loves playing it.... I won't buy a new one! I will keep the one I have and have NO interest in the new one at ALL!

We even bought the Monopoly Jr. for our child too.... it's not as good as the original.

Trump has never going to jail. He declared bankruptcy several times trying to monopolize NYC and the Monopoly games origin Atlantic City. The rich don't go to jail hardly. Only suckers without good lawyers go to jail.

Jail in monopoly was like going on vacation. It gave you time to figure out your strategy on what to sell and trade or steal.

Leave "in jail" as it is... bring back the token that was swapped out for another (heck, add tokens as a bonus, but don't deep-six existing tokens) and leave the game intact.

Even the money has been trimmed down in size. Its much smaller than the Monopoly $$$ I remember having when I first got the game as a kid.

It's a GREAT way...to teach math...I think they should keep the old version...and just add the new one...then everybody will be happy...:)
