Is that plain enough. If you don't want one, fine, don't buy one, but don't deny me my 2nd Amendment rights to own one if I choose to do so.

Moses is a myth; the United States Constitution is not.
Agreed.
Just more deflection by those who don't want guns, and don't want anyone else to have them.

<quoted text>Actually, you've likely seen me ask several times, for a definative description of what constitutes an, assualt rifle....just have yet to see anyone step up and answer it....i have a visual of what they are, and i am also waiting for a truthful answer, as to why they should'nt be banned?
A real Assault rifle is a full auto(meaning the weapon fires continuously until either the magazine is empty, or the shooter releases the trigger) or select fire(meaning there is a switch that selects full auto or semi auto).(Semi auto means the shooter must pull the trigger for each time a round is fired).

Now, the "Assault Rifle" that is the subject of the proposed ban is simply a semi auto rifle that has two cosmetic features from a list of scary looking cosmetic features, such as a pistol grip, flash suppressor, folding stock, or bayonet lug. None of which affect the firing rate or firing function of the gun. The new ban proposes reducing the requirement to only one of the cosmetic features from the list.

They shouldn't be banned because there is no functional firing difference between an Colt AR-15, Ruger 10/22, Remington 742, or a Saiga AA 12.

Do you know what each of those rifles are used for?
Neither do the progressive ostriches that want to ban them.

Judging by the little negative icons I got, someone seems to think that the US Constitution *is* a myth.

Interesting.

What a slippery slope we'll find ourselves on when we start tinkering with the constitution to please one group of people, regardless of their agenda/ interests.

It's a great country we live in that we reserve the right to voice our opinions, agree, disagree and agree to disagree at times, the right to pursue life, liberty and happiness. I often wonder if we'd have those wonderful rights had the forefathers excluded the 2nd amendment.

Because ANY idiot can get that out of THAT!
Keep trying to introduce irrelevant crap to attempt deflecting from the fact you are wrong and have been shown and proven so.

Yeah, don't confuse them with those pesky ole facts, their minds are made up and nothing is going to change them. Not that I am wishing any harm on any innocent American, but, should a tragedy involving a predator and a gun happen to these gun banning zealots, I believe that they might be singing a different tune. Kinda like our "illustrious" senator from California. She wants to ban guns, but has her very own CCW permit and owns and carries a semi automatic pistol.

Do any foreign states guarantee the right to keep and bear arms like we do in the United States?
Yes. Mexico, Haiti, and Guatemala all enshrine the right to pack heat in their constitutions. Guatemala's Article 38 is the only one that's as broad as our Second Amendment
Democratic People's Republic of Korea
Chapter IV, Article 60 of the Socialist Constitution of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea) "The State shall (...) arm the entire people and fortify the country on the basis of equipping the army and the people politically and ideologically."
[Countries under] Sharia [(Islamic religious law]]
Under Sharia in Islam, all men are policemen and soldiers. All men have the right to bear arms
That may be so, and if they are in reality given the right to exercise those rights as enumerated in their legal documents, I applaud them. However, the issue at hand is OUR founding documents and the rights we have in the United States of America.

One thing they conveniently forget, is that we are NOT a democracy, we are a Republic.

A Democracy
The chief characteristic and distinguishing feature of a Democracy is: Rule by Omnipotent Majority. In a Democracy, The Individual, and any group of Individuals composing any Minority, have no protection against the unlimited power of The Majority. It is a case of Majority-over-Man.

A Republic
A Republic, on the other hand, has a very different purpose and an entirely different form, or system, of government. Its purpose is to control The Majority strictly, as well as all others among the people, primarily to protect The Individualís God-given, unalienable rights and therefore for the protection of the rights of The Minority, of all minorities, and the liberties of people in general. The definition of a Republic is: a constitutionally limited government of the representative type, created by a written Constitution--adopted by the people and changeable (from its original meaning) by them only by its amendment--with its powers divided between three separate Branches: Executive, Legislative and Judicial. Here the term "the people" means, of course, the electorate.

Thus, even if the majority want something, if it infringes on the rights of the minority, it is deemed unconstitutional and therefore illegal.

It's not that they don't want them themselves, they just don't want us to have them.
Ironically, these progressive Democrat voters that back this move are going to be in the same boat as the rest of us, while the politicians are exempt from the proposed bans.

It's just filler, while the fanatics wait for the super bowl. I sometimes watch it, but not as much as the big show next weekend.

Control is infringement.

It doesn't say Shall Not Be Banned. It says "Shall Not Be Infringed".
