BREAKING: 90% Poll Further Debunked – New Poll: Most Americans Don’t Care Gun Control Failed

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/the-fix/w...

The Senate’s defeat of a package of popular proposals aimed at curbing gun violence last week seemed certain to foment public outrage at out-of-touch politicians who don’t listen to their constituents.

Not so much, according to a new Washington Post-Pew Research Center poll. Yes, a plurality (47 percent) describe themselves as either “angry” or “disappointed” about the failure of the gun legislation, but 39 percent call themselves “relieved” or “happy” about what happened. That’s a far cry from the 90-ish percent support that expanding background checks — the centerpiece of the proposed legislation — enjoyed.

And, among those who said they were “very closely” keeping tabs on the vote, the split was even closer; 48 percent said they were angry/disappointed while 47 percent were relieved or happy.(That piece of data is indicative of the passion gap on the issue between those supporting gun rights and those pushing for more restrictions.)

Elkins Park man killed after forcing his way into apartment

http://www.philly.com/philly/news/local/Elkin...

An Elkins Park man was killed late Friday after he forced his way into a stranger’s apartment in Cheltenham Township.

Jasper Brisbon, 32, wandered up to a couple late Friday at the Lynnewood Apartments as the pair spoke outside their unit. Brisbon, they told police, appeared to be on drugs. He stared at the pair for several minutes before the couple decided to go into their apartment, police said.

But as they entered their home Brisbon jumped between them, forcing his way in.

The male of the couple ran to get a semi-automatic AR-15 rifle and insisted Brisbon leave. Brisbon refused. Instead, as the man yelled “Stop! Stop Stop!” Brisbon moved menacingly toward the man, police said.

The man fired a shot striking Brisbon in the torso and immediately called 911, police said.....

BREAKING: New USA Today Poll Shows Support for New Gun Bill Now at 49%– NOT 90%

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2...

WASHINGTON -- Four months after the shooting rampage at Sandy Hook Elementary School, a USA TODAY Poll finds support for a new gun-control law ebbing as prospects for passage on Capitol Hill seem to fade.

Americans are more narrowly divided on the issue than in recent months, and backing for a bill has slipped below 50%, the poll finds. By 49%-45%, those surveyed favor Congress passing a new gun-control law. In an NBC/Wall Street Journal poll in early April, 55% had backed a stricter gun law, which was down from 61% in February.

The survey of 1,002 adults was taken Thursday through Sunday by Princeton Survey Research. The margin of error is +/- 4 percentage points....

Attempted robbery in Houston ends in suspect being shot and killed

http://www.examiner.com/article/attempted-rob...

A man was shot and killed during what is described as an attempted robbery Thursday evening, April 18. According to the Houston Police Department, the man who died was attempting to rob a man at his home when he was shot.

The resident arrived at his home in north Houston about 5:20 p.m. After pulling into his driveway and exiting his car, a gold-colored Lexus SUV, possibly a 470 series, pulled into the driveway as well, blocking the resident’s car.

Three armed men then got out of the SUV and demanded that the resident hand over his car keys and personal belongings. As the man handed over the items to the three men, they then demanded that the man give them access to his residence.

The resident had a friend inside his home, and as the friend feared for their safety, shot at the suspects, hitting one. The other two suspects fled the scene and remain at large....

So... that's 600 with firearms... one with a BBQ fork.

The "real" man with a gun is BY FAR more likely to kill his wife with a gun than a "burglar".
And their teenage son or daughter far more likely to kill themselves with the gun daddy left laying around the bed room.
According to one study, one out of three boys- when a gun was found in the experiment- pulled the trigger; 75 percent picked up the gun and handled it.
You seem to be obsessed with husbands killing wives. You probably watch too many lifetime movies. There are also lots of cases of people drowning one another, strangling one another, etc.etc. I could pull up so many stories for you. And as far as children shooting each other, only an idiot would leave their guns out and about or leave them loaded. A child is much more likely to pick something up that is foreign to them than something with familiarity. You teach your children, just as you would teach them not to touch a hot stove or not to play with matches or knives. Just as you don't leave these things lying around, you lock your guns up. Perhaps our military men should defend with.....?
Please let me know, what should they defend with?

You are absolutely right, don't know why I thought that. I'm pretty sure it wasn't a gun though, either.

The United Snakes knows that its' population suffer from a collective inferiority complex and are using the mass possession of firearms as a form of therapy. Unfortunately, it doesn't work in shopping malls, churches, post offices, cinemas, kindergartens, primary schools, high schools, colleges, universities, and during rush-hour traffic. So therefore, it ought to be justification to deny the ownership of guns to the American population.

"Unfortunately, it did not work in that instance"?

Tell me, Dr. Freud, how many INSTANCES were there? And of all the "instances" you were personally involved with how many of them WORKED?

You are so deep in your own brown stuff that no one has seen your eyebrows for a week.

FIVE killed:

By Carlos Sadovi and Rafael Guerrero Tribune reporters
6:39 a.m. CDT, April 25, 2013

After he shot his way into a home in the small town of Manchester, police say Rick Odell Smith gunned down a great-grandmother, a young couple and three young children. Then he did something that puzzled authorities.

He scooped up one of the children, a 6-year-old girl who was still alive, and carried her to a neighbor's home. Then he jumped into his white Chevy Lumina and sped off. Police caught up with him hours later and he died in a gunfight with officers.

State Police Lt. Col. Todd Kilby couldn't explain Smith's apparent concern for the girl. "All I have is that it was a neighbor" who took her in, he told reporters.

A source said the man told the neighbor to take her to a hospital. The neighbor called police.

The girl, Kassidy Ralston, remained in critical condition at a hospital in Springfield with facial injuries, according to family and a source.
