Homeowner holds burglar at gunpoint until police arrive

http://www.ksl.com/...

ST. GEORGE — A homeowner who discovered a burglar inside his house Thursday held the man at gunpoint until police arrived to make an arrest.

Eric Martin was in bed at about 4:30 a.m. Thursday when he heard a commotion in his house, according to Sgt. Sam Despain with the St. George Police Department. Martin took his handgun with him to find the source of the noise, and encountered an intruder in his home.

"I'm in bed sleeping, I get up, I retrieve my sidearm, I chase him out the front door. I've got him pinned on the ground. It's 4:55 in the morning and I don't have a stitch of clothing on," he said. "I'm basically telling him at this point,'Stay on the ground, don't move, because if you do move, I will shoot you.' "

You don't point out anything, you've been trying to make a case for the stupid unconstitutional law that you insist made an impact on crime and making outlandish statements that we (a number of us) promptly thrust up your colon.

You making or defend states such as that their hasn't been a murder in 25 years which then changed to in 31 or so years there were 25 years that there were no murders and other silly and stupid nonsense, that even though murders occur in Kennesaw, we have to convince you it happens within city limits and not jurisdictions and other such nonsense.

The unconstitutional law (and a law that has never been enforced, and was passed knowing that it would never be enforced) has had no impact other than to make the town a joke.

More typical use of firearm in the home:

Husband shot, killed wife, then self in Wyoming
Mar. 29, 2013 11:03 PM |

A woman found dead Thursday inside her Wyoming home was shot by her husband, who then turned the gun on himself, state police said Friday.

An autopsy revealed that Janice L. Wyatt, 57, of the 100 block of S. Layton Ave., died of gunshot wounds to the upper torso, Master Cpl. Gary Fournier said.

Wyatt’s 56-year-old husband, Jay, then tried to kill himself. He died Friday at 3:22 p.m. in Kent General Hospital.

An autopsy will determine his cause of death, Fournier said.

A relative who visited the home to check on the woman’s welfare shortly after 11 a.m. Thursday found the couple lying on the floor of a bedroom.

Janice Wyatt was pronounced dead at the scene.

Trying to shoot?

Several were shot, Cracker.

Here's another triple homicide:

HARRISBURG, N.C.—

Authorities have confirmed the identities of the two people killed on Friday afternoon in Cabarrus County.

The victims in the incident have been identified as Daniel Kerchner and Gary Stocks.

Police have identified the third man, who took his own life after a standoff with police, as Anthony Hardy.

Police said Friday night the suspect in a fatal shooting killed himself Friday afternoon.

Police said a shot went off when cops first arrived, but didn't hit anyone.

The incident started before 5 p.m. at 7791 Coachman Court.

Family members said the man shot to death in his back yard was a father of two.

They said his wife and two children were inside the house when he and another neighbor were killed and his wife saw the whole thing.

"The neighbor came over and shot him. And as his daughter was going out the back door, she saw it," said relative Pam Mills.

Mills said the victim's wife ran upstairs with the children to call 911.

"I'm just concerned about the kids right now. They're still little," Mills said.

Police locked the entire community down for most of Friday afternoon and told neighbors to stay inside after the two men were shot.

Police have not identified the suspect or the men who were killed.

Sources said the incident was over a neighborhood dispute and the victims were on the Homeowners Association's board.

Family members of one of the victims said they can't believe something like this would happen to a man who was so generous in a neighborhood they thought was safe.

"We just talked to him on the phone yesterday. He's a very nice guy. He would do anything for anybody," Mills said. "It doesn't make sense. It doesn't make sense at all."

You don't even need $35, and the NRA have "lifetime" members that are dead.

We can agree the NRA inflates its membership stats, and

PS: it doesn't cost a penny to become a member of a political party but you didn't say anything when someone tried to make a connection to supposed Democrats who committed mass murders.

Homeowner frightens off burglar by shouting at him. The homeowner's wife accidentally shot herself dead 2 months prior, so the gun had been sold.

Police have identified the burglar as 31-year-old Earnest Holdman, and he has quite the rap sheet. Holdman has been charged with several burglaries stemming back to 2006 and even did prison time for some of the crimes.

Holdman was shot and killed Thursday morning when he attempted to break into a trailer in the area of 121st Street and Northwest 18th Avenue.

According to police, Holdman was trying to get into the trailer through the roof of the house. He cut a piece of the roof open and tried to take lawn equipment inside.....

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS -- One woman was shot in the head after a fight with a security guard early Saturday morning.

The Cleveland Heights Police Department says the shooting happened just before 3 a.m. at the International House of Pancakes on Mayfield Road.

Police say Nadia Williams, 25, and three other women got into an argument with the security guard who was employed by IHOP.

The security guard tried to escort the women off the premises and that's when a fight broke out. The security guard fell to the ground where his gun was discharged, firing one shot, hitting Williams in the head.

Williams was taken to University Hospitals where she died from her injuries.

Police have the three women and security guard in custody but are not releasing their names at this time.

IHOP has stated that the presence of a security guard and what they carry is up to the individual franchise owner.

PETERSBURG, Pa.(AP)— A central Pennsylvania father shot and killed his 2-year-old son and wounded his estranged wife during a custody exchange before killing himself, authorities said.

Police said Kenneth Ayers also shot at his mother during the altercation Saturday morning at her home in a rural area about 20 miles southwest of State College.

Huntingdon County District Attorney George Zanic said Ayers, 52, was subject to a protection from abuse order filed by his wife but was permitted visits with his son, Michael.

Saturday's visit was to happen at his mother's home in Barree Township. But once at the home, Ayers got into an altercation with his estranged wife, Hollie Jo, and shot her in the legs and arm with a .40 caliber handgun before intentionally shooting his son, police said.

Kenneth Ayers placed the child's body in the back of his vehicle but the wounded woman retrieved the body before Ayers shot her again in the face, police said. He also fired at his mother but missed.

"Words can't describe the scene ... heartbreaking," Zanic told The (Altoona) Mirror outside the home.

Kenneth Ayers' body was found several hours later in his parked truck in a wooded area in Warriors Mark Township. Investigators said he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Hollie Jo Ayers was transported to a hospital and expected to survive, according to police.

State police Cpl. Daniel Sneath said investigators are trying to determine what led to the shooting and why Ayers was carrying a gun despite the protection order.

Police will also seek an autopsy to determine whether Kenneth Ayers was under the influence drugs or alcohol.
