I find it utterly hilarious that Conservative Pro-Gunners use Kennesaw, Georgia as their shining example of what gun ownership can do to reduce crime in an area. I'm fairly certain that establishing a law that all city residents must have one gun in their residence is socialism at its finest - kinda' like "forcing" everyone to have health insurance.

Interesting that it is the lack of YOUR ability to "admit" that is the core of this exchange of words. Claiming your faults to be intentional sarcasm ain't a-gonna' get it. We know you better than that.

That is what I call speaking the language of you liberals. We have bear poot calling people spooge breath and telling them to wipe their chin, M69 calling people John Wayne, Dr. Google, twit, cyber whatever, and you calling our country the United Snakes, calling people cowards,...
I just figured it was part of the debating requirements as far as you lefties are concerned.

At least you picked a good point to deflect with.
Although, since the law was enacted in 1982, the population there has grown from just over 5000 to just over 33000. I guess people didn't mind the ordinance.

the mere sight of a gun or the sound of a round being chambered is enough to have not so smart criminals come to their senses quite quickly.

SHAWNEE -- The Shawnee woman killed in an apparent domestic-related homicide Thursday morning is the daughter of a well-known Tecumseh couple slain while on vacation in New Mexico in 2010.

Shawnee Police Chief Russell Frantz identified the victim found Thursday morning in her Shawnee home as Cathy Byus, 34.

Byus is the daughter of Gary and Linda Haas. The Tecumseh couple, while on an RV trip in New Mexico in 2010, were murdered by three escapees from a Arizona prison.

Byus was found dead Thursday morning at her home, 27 Bella Vista Lane, which is in Granada Estates in Shawnee.

Frantz said the suspect in the case is reported to be the victim's husband, 24-year-old Justin Byus. He is now in police custody.

Byus was pregnant in 2010 when her parents were killed. Police have confirmed the couple have a toddler, who is reportedly staying with family.

Of course, it has nothing to do with the gun ordinance:

(quote)

Kennesaw has continued the Georgia tradition of being business-friendly. Georgia consistently ranks in the top ten states for business no matter who is doing the ranking. Kennesaw combines the tax advantages of living in Georgia with the networking advantages of living in a small community where you can really start to get to know your neighbors.
Kennesaw is close enough to Atlanta to commute, but more affordable. Money Magazine ranked Georgia as one of the six states with the highest rates of new business start-ups per CNNMoney. Many of those start-ups are begun by recent graduates of Atlanta and Atlanta area universities. If you were a recent Emory University graduate who just started a business and needed a place to live and raise a family, would you choose to stay in Atlanta, or would you move to someplace like Kennesaw? According to the cost of living calculator at Best Places, Kennesaw’s overall cost of living is about six percent below that of Atlanta, while housing is 17% less expensive in Kennesaw. Add a carpool to the equation and Kennesaw just might be the key factor supporting an Atlanta entrepreneur who is just getting started. That’s not to say that Atlanta isn’t an affordable city – in fact, it’s one of the most affordable cities in the country to live in. But Kennesaw is even more affordable – and that is a little like finding gold, especially when you find it in a town that also has so much else going for it.
Kennesaw is consciously family-friendly. In fact, Family Circle magazine has designated it one of the ten most family-friendly cities in the country. Almost half of households have children living at home. As you might expect in a town that gets named in a national publication as family-friendly, the schools here are excellent. Not only are the schools academically excellent, but they are racially diverse, as they should be if we expect to prepare students to be culturally literate in the 21st century. Cobb County schools do not have a racial majority of any one ethnic group — in 2009 the Cobb County School District reported that students were 47% white, 30% black, 14% Hispanic, five percent Asian and four percent multi-racial or American Indian.(Cobb County School District, 2008 Annual Report)
Adults in Kennesaw, like their offspring, are well-educated. While 85% of the adult population nationally have completed a high school diploma, 93% of Kennesaw adults have. And although only 28% of U.S. adults have graduated from college, slightly over 40% of adults in Kennesaw have. It doesn’t hurt that Kennesaw is a university town itself!
Kennesaw is designed for walking. It isn’t necessary to get in the car to do every errand. Many people even manage to walk to work. This, too, makes Kennesaw a family-friendly place to live in the 21st century. According to the Centers for Disease Control, about 33% of U.S. adults and 17% of children are obese — not just overweight, but obese. Georgia is not much better, with a 30% obesity rate statewide.(Centers for Disease Control,“Overweight and Obesity.” According to the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, walking 30 minutes a day, five or more days per week, can radically improve fitness levels. In Kennesaw, if you live 15 minutes from work or school, you’ve got it covered.
Kennesaw takes pride in its appearance. Ordinances here require architecture to be based on 19th-century styles, to match the town’s history (it has been here since before the Civil War). Even the lampposts and benches must match. Kennesaw has been designated a Preserve America Community, an honor granted to communities that not only preserve their historic heritage but use it as a stepping stone toward economic revitalization.
