<quoted text>As usual, typical out-of-touch-with-reality Conservaturd. I only agreed with the NRA with the armed policeman in each and every school idea. They're the ones that suggested it after Sandy Hook, not me. Teacher's unions, as well as unions, are a fact of life - if you want to know how to bust one, call Scott Walker - governor of Wisconsin - he's done a pretty good job at reducing the educational excellence level of the state. I'm not pro-union, but please understand how unions work - before any contract is ratified or modified, a vote must pass the rank and file. It's just how the union system works. That goes the same for any change to a school security system that puts teachers at the forefront.

What does say a lot about me is that I put the life of even one child above my right to own a gun. I would put just one child's safety above my own.

Using statistics to cloud the issue and mask the real problem is not solving the root problem.
First, giving up your right to own a gun isn't going to save that one child. Even if it did, many more citizens would lose there lives as a result of giving up the right to own a gun. So actually, you would put your lack of respect for others' rights above their lives.

Lmao, yeah those facts and statistics cloud the liberal progressive propaganda don't they? The root problem is criminals and mentally deranged individuals.

<quoted text>I can answer that question.
No one wants a live hand grenade in their home. Why? Because you never know when someone is going to handle the thing improperly and do your whole family in.
Funny though, it's a whole lot more difficult to pull the pin on a grenade than to push the trigger on a rifle - automatic or otherwise. Then there is also the fact that once you've pulled the pin and tossed a grenade it's all over with. You can only pull the pin once but you can press the trigger on a rifle until the cops arrive.
So it is harder to pull the pin on a grenade than it is to 1. Insert 30 rounds into a magazine, 2. Insert magazine into a rifle, 3. Chamber a round from the magazine, 4. Aim the rifle, 5. Take the rifle off safety, 6 squeeze the trigger.

Interesting! They must have some really complex grenades over there!

I know a few teachers, as do "all" Topix posters (snicker), and from what I've heard, none of them want to be armed. One teacher told me, "If the bad guys know I'm carrying a gun, who do you think they're going to shoot first?"
Take away the "Gun Free Zone" signs and put a target on the chest of every teacher.
Arming teachers is a stupid Idea. If they want to pack fine, however, armed entry and exit control is the only way to secure a school for the majority of possible issues.

That was me you smart guy! You piss off so many people with your socialist agenda, you can't keep us all strait?

Actually, what I said was that need is irrelevant because gun ownership is a right. But since you socialists can't stop saying," nobody can answer why they NEED an AR-15", I posted a list of reasons.

Actually the Stevens 512 and the Stoeger Condor have only one trigger. So one trigger for both barrels.

I wouldn't turn their murder into political theater, "I'm sorry for our loss."

Too bad, a brave teacher wasn't armed, or an administrator, facility engineer or security guard didn't stop the murderer sooner.

.

milwaukee69 wrote, "Oh yeah, teach your kids - they should've been armed!!!"

I've never promoted arming children; I've advocated teaching gun safety to children.

Adults should be armed, not children.
Precisely. I'm sure the teacher that covered the child with her body, would have much rather been armed, rather than defenseless.

Guns versus lives.

Btw, teacher's unions won't even consider putting up arming their rank and file - not since we've taken away their pensions.

Brilliant!!!

Choosing life over death.

I'm also fairly sure anyone that's been murdered with a gun since it's invention would've preferred the same thing.

I'm on the fence on this one. Like I said, I'm not pro-union, but I am pro-teacher. There are just a few occupations that I believe deserve a state-paid pension - and you can't get one anymore unless you are union (sometimes). Cops, firefighters and teachers all deserve one. Anyone that saves, preserves or shapes a life deserves to be taken care of after retirement.
