Obama will announce new national guidelines limiting emissions for existing power plants, which account for 40 percent of all carbon-dioxide emissions.
The timing of Obama’s announcement was dictated by the bureaucratic clock, not the electoral one. For the president to have his new system firmly in place by the time he departs the White House, he needs time to issue his proposal, take public comments, finalize it, defend it against inevitable legal challenges, and so on. Since the law authorizing Obama’s plan has already passed Congress (the Clean Air Act, in 1970), there will be no drawn-out battle on the Hill.
Americans do support, by a wide margin, regulating the greenhouse-gas emissions of power plants.
Obama is not picking this issue to help his party save Senate seats. He is doing this because, given the enormity of the stakes for centuries to come, there is no morally defensible alternative.

The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program, also known as LIHEAP, helps low-income families pay their heating bills. LIHEAP is a grant that offers assistance in the form of a cash grant, sent directly to the utility company, or a crisis grant for households in immediate danger of being without heat.

Limiting carbon dioxide emissions will probably raise electric bills somewhat after it goes into effect but I don't think it will be a huge amount. Maybe 10 dollars a month
In 1973 Time magazine was reportig(sic) we were on the brink of the next ice age
As told to "william shatner's poop plop" 3 times, & to toxic topix AGW denier liars, 100 times, 44 1970's science papers on global warming were published in Science Journals, while only 7 papers were written on global cooling.

The interior of Greenland (seen here with researchers’ tents pitched) is usually covered in frozen ice and snow. In July 2012, though, 97 percent of the surface melted for the first time in more than 100 years. Scientists now know why that happened.(© Patrick Robert/Corbis)

Good up-to-date presentation of albedo warming on Greenland. In past science studies, coal, oil, & gas electric generating plant emissions have also caused inordinate albedo changes, as much as seven times greater effect per kilogram of burned materials, than forest fires.

communist chinese(always small letters) & to a lesser extent Indian increased emissions are a new factor of far north Arctic emissions albedo ice melting.

Apparently if it true that man has caused the global warming trend coming out of the little ice age, without his contribution of co2 emissions to warm the earth, we would all be living in a frozen tundra...and the way this past winter went in the US with all the arctic cold air dropping out of the north, with it's record snow and freezing temperatures we seem to be barely keeping our heads above water as it is. So I say more co2 please, because it seems the only thing keeping us out of the ice age.Just sayin':)

Thank you for understanding that the record Arctic winter warming above the 80th parallel (not one day in 140 days was at or below normal) indicated massive quantities of AGW energy enhanced warmth continually swept into the Arctic. All that continuous warmth was also able to thrust much of the Arctic winter cold(the North Pole in continuous darkness for 6 months) to Canada & the U.S. Sometimes, AGW energy enhanced warm fronts can force Arctic winter cold to the far south, Mexico, Central America or southern China, India, Iran, Iraq, & northern Africa.

Again, it is good that you understand & highlight this powerful AGW enhanced warming condition & effects on the climate.

You're job killers.
Wind turbine service technicians, also known as windtechs, install, maintain, and repair wind turbines. They generally work outdoors, often at great heights.

Most wind turbine service technicians learn their trade by attending a technical school. After completing a 2-year technical program, employers usually provide on-the-job training, typically lasting over 12 months.

The median annual wage for wind turbine service technicians was $45,970 in May 2012.

Employment of wind turbine service technicians is projected to grow 24 percent from 2012 to 2022, much faster than the average for all occupations. Because wind electricity generation is expected to grow over the coming decade, additional technicians will be needed to install and maintain new turbines. Job prospects should be excellent for qualified candidates.

That's a lie.

There are no jobs in that industry unless you're related to one of the crony crapitalists who donated to barock.

How about I work in the field of MY choice and not some dumb liberals?

Even the communists know cheap energy creates jobs.
