Some of these people need to spend a little time abroad.
There are places that have public urinals along the sidewalks.

In Japan, companies employ women to clean restrooms and no one cares if the restroom is occupied when the women clean. That was a bit unnerving the first time, but I got over it, as did everyone else in the group... there were 22 of us.

I don't understand the flap over the issue... either with restrooms or changing rooms.

So many of you folks are really mean. I flagged most of your posts for review.

Listen to what Rikki and Vyxyn wrote. I'm legally a woman and haven't had genital reassignment surgery yet. But if I was forced to use the men's room I'd get beaten up so quickly. I'm not a child molester, sex pervert, or even interested in other women.

Furthermore, it's not about "dressing up as" whatever gender. Why is everyone so fixated on clothing? That's the least complicated thing to gender, in my opinion.

Interesting topic. Within the last 5 years or so, I've noticed that many newer building don't have men or woman bathrooms...its just one powder room and has the sign on the door with a woman symbol and a man symbol...ROFL, guess these days they figure "one size fits all"...

Think about this for one minute.......How did we all get the sexual label of "male" or "female"????

It was from one quick look by a doctor at birth and consisted of "with a penis or without". No genetics, nothing, just what was or was not physically dangling between our legs. Hardly a scientific way to determine a label that we were stuck with for our entire lives. Funny thing about that label, not everyone who has the visible "equipment" has the internal equipment to complete the label of "male" or "female" as they are not able to reproduce. Carry that one step further to transgender.......

We are not a "freak or a puke" as you so homophobically put it. We are people who have a different internal wiring to our brains than you have. As a whole, transgenders hold good jobs, have above average intelligence and are virtually invisible from the outside, in fact, you might even ask one of us for a date as we blend in so well.(Another point that is lost, most of us go "stealth" so people only see us as the gender we present.) I am a Registered Nurse who has contact with many people from all walks of life and all whom I come in contact with, accept me as the female that I am, not the "male" because of some outside pysical atributes. You might do yourself a favor and open your eyes to this big world and accept the fact that we are not all like you (THANK GOD!!!)

Funny thing about the bathroom issue or the clothing chaging areas, every women's bathroom or changing area that I have been in has all private areas, doors or curtains for privacy. Women are not like men and need their privacy. They don't need to be like the guys and hang it all out there for everyone to see, so when one uses those women's areas, nobody even knows what you have or don't have under your skirt!!

Thank you!!

SammyBoy can be safe in the fact he will never have to see me in his pee covered domain! He will, however; have to wonder if that sales clerk, the girl serving him drinks at the bar, the nurse taking care of him......... are transgendered! In that fact alone, I sleep VERY well at night!!!

oooh, I don't think he'll wonder. He seems to me to be the kind of guy who sees boobs (or reasonable facsimile thereof) and automatically thinks "Hot Chick!" ("Who Wants Me", perhaps? ALL those guys think that all chicks and queers want them - and why??)

He's probably picked up on someone in bar at some point in his life and, thinking that "she" was just a prude, didn't get anywhere ... probably went home thinking "Lezbo", when in fact, it was his OWN rantings about The Sick Pukeness Of Everything That Is Not SammyBoy that made "her" decide that enlightenment just isn't this guy's path.

so - because something is TAUGHT, that makes it right? Well, okay, smart guy - interracial relationships are going to be the downfall of society, women shouldn't vote (or wear pants or work) and smoking cigarettes is A-OK - relaxing, too!

It's okay - you were TAUGHT those things.

How about teaching that Love is important? And not WHERE you find it, but rather THAT you find it?

How about teaching to be true to one's self?

I almost (ALMOST) hope your kid grows up with gender/sexuality issues - know why? So HE can teach YOU that it's okay to NOT be obesessed with who is f---ing whom.

Try watching more than 3 minutes of Discovery Health Channel. You might realize that the ORIGINAL issue (transgender identity) isn't so cut-and-dried as "some fag hiding his balls trying to make out with me".

God, there's SO much more to worry about in this world!

Who is "you"?

I almost always tell guys before I even go on a first date. Two times I've waited until things got very intimate, and these were awful experiences. It's a very easy way to get beaten or killed, which unfortunately happens all too often. So as a matter of personal safety, most pre-op or non-op trans women say it right away. I will never date a guy now without being completely sure they really understand my situation exactly.

After I get surgery I'm not sure if I'll need to tell anyone, although if I was in a serious relationship I would, just as a matter of basic trust. I do know of someone who's been in a marriage with a guy for twelve years and has not yet told him, since she fears for her life if she did. I never want to be in that situation.

What does "we are taught thst boy it's girl not boy boy" mean? I really don't understand what you mean.

Because they are Not proud of who they used to be: miserable, depressed, stuck.

Let me ask you, point blank: what determines your gender? And remember if you have the courage to answer the following:

Chromosomes do not
Having a penis or vagina does not

The number of persons affected with this is less than one percent of the total population. They come from all races, all countries, all creeds, all religions. They are the exceptions that prove the rules.

This person is being discriminated against.

Let's see, I just celebrated 30 years of marriage with the woman who married me as man and is now accepting me as a woman. Our sex life, well, that is ours and ours alone. We have three great adult children with spouses, one grandchild and tow more on the way. All of our children grew up with a "Dad" and have accepted the new "lady" in their lives. I guess love must be in there somewhere, something that is usually missing in the homophobic sammyboy world.

I was just raised that people are people, regardless of sex (orientation OR gender) race or religion. My parents are the ones who are great.

I just don't understand why people are so hung up on those three things - well, okay, race & religion have been rearing their ugly heads a lot lately. But sex? C'mon! I guess I don't see how people can be so threatened ...

I'm straight and have had my share of proposals from women. The advances didn't insult me - I just refused them politely. I didn't freak out and call them SICK or PERVERTED - I compare it to being offered food I don't like. "No thanks". No fireworks. No theatrics.

My husband used to be verrrry homophobic. Unless it was a porn with 2 women, of course! He also didn't have any basis for reality other than his bigoted step-dad yapping in his ear that "all fags should be publicly tortured and executed". Now, after MANY visits to SoCal (West Hollywood especially), he's come around, grown up and gotten past all that baseless, senseless hatred. One of our best friends actually turned to MY HUSBAND when he and his beau broke up!

I hope YOU have found Love, Trish. You deserve all the best - we ALL do, but in this day & age, I think that some need it a little more than others. Be an embassador and fight the good fight :)

I completely agree with you!! I know for a fact that a man and a womans brain waves are different, they function differently. and it has been proven that a males brain has been in a womans body.. and a womans brain has been in a mans body... what then?? they completely think, and feel like a man, but their shell is not.. and vice versa...

But scientificly, no, you are not labeled as a man or a woman by genitals...(please excuse my spelling and typos..) but it is determined by chromosones.. two x's or an x and a y....

but even then, its not fair.. because like i said, a person can have a mans brain and a womans body!!!!

I am not homophobic, actually.. I find myself having more fun with gay men then straight men.. and i can open up easier to a lesbian then a straight woman.. of course not all.. but for the ones that i have had the pleasure of knowing very well, that has been the case...

I wish you nothing but happiness and joy for the holidays!!!

You may be surprised to learn that this is not the case, either. It holds and applies to the overwhelming majority of persons, but is not 100% accurate, as there are XY women and XX men and XXY men and XYY women and pretty much an amazing variety thereafter.
